Eh, having issues, sorry for the delay.

An issue with the cache, sorted now.

Not just you.
604  Economy / Marketplace / Re: GLBSE DOWN !? on: April 28, 2012, 10:46:59 AM
Why does this only happen when I'm sleeping.

Anyway back up again.

Server was restarted, and there's a password required to restart it.
605  Economy / Securities / Re: Should I start Diablo Mining Company, a 1M BTC startup? on: April 28, 2012, 02:53:59 AM
I'm afraid GLBSE just won't be able to handle doubling or tripling its daily volume, and I know the GLBSE owner is subscribed to this thread, so it'd be nice if he chimed in on this Wink

I don't think I agree with this, the only time GLBSE starts to groan is when there is an IPO selloff, and everyone starts hitting the server trying to snipe each other.

I think volume on GLBSE would have to increase by 50-60x to start having an effect on speed.

Even with things as they currently are without any changes at all we could handle 30x the current volume.
606  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: How does a German buy Bitcoin? on: April 27, 2012, 07:15:35 PM
Intersango.com has a decently sized Euro market and does SEPA payments, the fee is very low and usually gets processed very fast.

If there are any problems they've got great customer support and have recently added lower maker/taker fees for liquidity providers.

They also have the best security record in the bitcoin exchange business.
607  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB bitcoins with Paypal on: April 27, 2012, 07:10:57 PM
I would recommend you use an exchange, with Intersango.com you'll get the best prices and liquidity there, also there is no risk to the seller of chargebacks as there is with Paypal.

They have markets for GBP, USD, Euro, and PLN, if you're in the UK your payment is usually transfered within an hour and they have great customer service if there are any problems.

And they have recently added lower fees for maker/takers  (liquidity providers).
608  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TED - James McCarthy [Nefario] - Evolutionary money: the Bitcoin ecology on: April 27, 2012, 07:02:47 PM
That talk went terrible, I've come to accept that I'm not really the best speaker when on a stage, 1 to 1 or a small group...informally I'm fine.
609  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: April 27, 2012, 03:24:35 AM
I can't remember if I asked you this but is it necessary to reveal my identity to you to file for an IPO?

You don't have to but it's a good idea.
610  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoins first funded horse (via GLBSE) first race! on: April 27, 2012, 01:24:23 AM
Satoshi's Daemon, a race horse funded by listing on GLBSE is having her first race!

Open a free account on GLBSE's prediction market and bet (play money) on her position.

611  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] Dividend Returns - updated weekly on: April 27, 2012, 12:41:29 AM
I have been working on something to get the weekly high, low, and weighted average for these securities.  What I have planned is not complete yet but I was able to pull the last 3200 trades off of the GLBSE twitter feed. I am sharing the data in a csv file.  Depending on the future API, I plan to work on this so I can have better tools to analyze GLBSE listed securities.

With this data I can modify it to produce an Open, High, Low, Close, and Adjusted format.  It will also be able to see the volume for each of the securities instead of the total volume since birth.

That's all being done with the update, have you not visited dev.glbse.com?

It's got sparklines :p

Added sparklines

This is some fantastic news.
614  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Other uses for a miner? on: April 26, 2012, 01:27:06 AM
Quite good at cracking passwords, you could rent out the miner to someone who wants a password cracked.
615  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Bitcoinica for Mining Contracts on: April 25, 2012, 11:52:45 PM
I don't get it.

I was insinuating that the OP could be Atlas given the contents of his posts, coupled with the time of day he posts and date he joined this forum. But, as I've stated, I could be mistaken, at which point an apology, my me, would be in order.

I mean I don't get the sock pic, whats that supposed to be?
616  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Access blockchain.info wallet without password, two factor, or e-mail on: April 25, 2012, 11:25:47 PM
Common problem when people enable two factor auth on their account when they don't know what they're doing, they successfully lock themselves out.
617  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Bitcoinica for Mining Contracts on: April 25, 2012, 10:57:34 PM
I don't get it.
618  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.1 open for testing on: April 25, 2012, 10:55:54 PM
A couple of CSS/style/ux things.

Slapping bootstrap on a project sadly doesn't make it insta-pretty! (TM pending)

Except in this case, you've seen how ugly GLBSE2.0 is.

Suggestions noted, I'll make updates regarding the colors (I like buttons with many colors  Undecided ).
619  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.1 open for testing on: April 25, 2012, 10:16:22 PM
If you find a bug please post here.

Not a bug report but a suggestion.

Compose needs some CSS love.

Also color for status message after successfully changing password is red.  Shouldn't OK / success be green?

Yeah, there are a lot of rough edges. I'll devote a little time and love to the mail functionality in GLBSE 2.2 update, make it something usable.
620  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Bitcoinica for Mining Contracts on: April 25, 2012, 10:14:59 PM
I'm curious as to if the OP is masking his IP through Tor. If not, then ignore this post. If so, then I have a theory.

Whats the theory?
