1022  Economy / Speculation / Re: egold/gold BITCOIN exchange anyone? on: March 20, 2012, 01:37:06 PM
There is already coinabul, and sometime in the near future GLBSE will have gold backed assets trading on it.

1023  Economy / Marketplace / Re: GLBSE down? on: March 20, 2012, 12:58:36 PM
charts.glbse.com has been giving me a hard time recently - cause it did not work at all Sad

Yep, it's not updating anymore.

Until 2.0 is launched, you will need  to see our twitter stream for the latest trades.

To see asks and bids you'll need to log into GLBSE, go to the Asset section and enter the name of the asset you're looking for.

GLBSE2.0 will be out in a few days and this will be rectified.

1024  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: March 20, 2012, 01:47:27 AM
I've made a couple of updates to try to fix this bug.

Cancelled all orders and reset the account reserve to 0.

1026  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! [GLBSE] on: March 20, 2012, 01:26:29 AM
I'm willing to stop testing for a bribe and fast 2.0 deployment wink

I don't get it.
1027  Economy / Marketplace / Re: GLBSE 2.0 release delayed again! on: March 20, 2012, 01:23:50 AM
will you keep fixing 1.0 bugs in the meantime?
or rather not Wink but you might want to notice we have TyGrr-Bank situation where ask=bid=.103 and orders are not paired

It's really odd. All I can say for this is to cancel the order and try again.

1028  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: we need a way to keep score (bugs known, fixed, new) on: March 20, 2012, 01:05:25 AM
dividends (after fees) are wrong

10 btc dividends result in 8.93712 btc paid to shareholders.

affected release 18/Mar (guess who forgot to increment counter? wink)

btw if you want to pay dividends visit the asset view page .../asset/view/TICKER
& click pay dividends

the only option to pay dividends is "how much you gonna spend on this?"
easy (and slightly not working)

Hmm, thats an intersting bug. The fee is supposed to be 0.5%, that is a weird number which is also quite wrong. I'm wondering how it arrived at this number, as everything is dealt with using integers.

Let pretend the counter is 20th march for the next couple of minutes  Tongue

1029  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! [GLBSE] on: March 20, 2012, 12:58:15 AM
I've verified Garr255's identity

Facebook, Linked in, Photo ID(two forms provided), address, and phone verified.

Good luck in the IPO, sorry for not having GLBSE 2.0 out in time for it.

1030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Pay to click, bitcoin URI's on: March 19, 2012, 10:52:16 PM
Interesting BitcoinMedia article on using URI's for bitcoin, I was wondering how useful this would be? There are terribly long startup times for the current default bitcoin client (I've not tried any other one).

There's lightweight bitorrent clients that start quickly, what about bitcoin?
1031  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get Bitcoin? on: March 19, 2012, 10:36:23 PM
is Evoohee's method of getting bitcoin still good? i was thinking of trying that

1032  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] TyGrr Tech on: March 19, 2012, 09:54:37 PM
@nefario don't be. it's more or less friendly teasing.

my worries are
- untested interface to bitcoin (we did nothing with testnet bitcoins, only dev.glbse which uses dummy coins)
- short testing of the 'final' release, some nasty bugs still inside might be hiding
- unannounced changes (trading fees?)
- really nefarious transition from 1.0 to 2.0

this will affect all shareholders that's why I post it here and don't think it would be completely off topic in TyGrr's thread, since he has 2 big products on the exchange.
I really like what you do (both, goat and nefario) and just bitch a bit about how unreasonably fast deployment of glbse 2.0 might spoil something.

Things have moved on since this comment, we've delayed the release for another week. We're going to have more testing to ensure 2.0 works smoothly.

There will be fee changes, in 2.0 you can see what's there.
1033  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get Bitcoin? on: March 19, 2012, 09:35:58 PM
Wow, I was wondering how'd I'd miss this thread, and then I looked at the date of it.

In that time Intersango.com has grown a lot, becoming #1 in GBP and also trading in USD and Euro.
1034  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! [GLBSE] on: March 19, 2012, 09:22:30 PM
I just looked at the GLBSE thread and saw they will not be launching 2.0 for at least another week. I still want to have the IPO tonight as scheduled, but I don't have enough coins so I'm waiting for a response from Nefario regarding setting up the asset with the 2.0 fees which he had said will come into effect today. Else someone could donate or loan 12btc to me to pay the 20btc fee.

Sorry for this, I hope Nef is able to compensate for being late!

Edit: Also I am accepting pre purchases of the shares to pay for this. They will be transferred to your account immediately after the IPO.

It's not a problem, we'll be doing it at 2.0 fees.
1035  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: March 19, 2012, 09:19:25 PM
No problem Garret, I'll be online to help you out. I'll finish of the verification process and we'll have 2.0 price for the launch.

Will we be having fewer sql database lockups in the new version?

We shouldn't have any.
Didn't you already answer that?

Huh I think I need more sleep.
1037  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: March 19, 2012, 05:42:17 PM
Fixed your issue with accounts being able to trade with each other (from the same user, it works now), and found the issue with the bitcoin reserve not coming down when orders are processed, I'm working on this.

can confirm both:
- trading between accounts works fine
- blocking bitcoins as reserved for purchase after closed transaction remains.

but that should not prevent us from further testing.

edit: connecting glbse to testnet is not that important after all. since we never manage the bitcoins like we would in a proper web wallet implementation (& glbse is kind of mixing service Wink ) the 'only' benefit of connecting it to test net would be to verify deposit/withdrawal (because all other bitcoin transactions are glbse internal db records; all fees, dividends and trades exist independent from blockchain and we have no way of knowing which coins would be used for withdrawal ...)

Yeah, almost all transactions on GLBSE are internal, with the exception of deposits and withdrawals.

Also we'll be getting rid of withdrawal fees and the minimum withdrawal amounts.

1040  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: GLBSE 2.0 open for testing on: March 19, 2012, 10:37:00 AM
can we have 'a week' of glbse 2.0 running with testnet coins?

I'd side with users who want a later deployment of the new version

I can't retest my list of known issues before later tonight and I did only basic testing.
the bug when buy orders at lower price cause blocking btc balance is IMO serious enough to wait for a new version
and allow at least 24h for testing

Very well, we'll have a week with testnet.

I was hoping to have it out today but I'm exhausted(not slept since Friday). The only thing it needs are deposits/withdrawals, which is going to be carried over from GLBSE1.0.

I've tested the transfer of accounts from 1.0 to 2.0 a ton, works fine.

Fixed your issue with accounts being able to trade with each other (from the same user, it works now), and found the issue with the bitcoin reserve not coming down when orders are processed, I'm working on this.

Have added a fees page.

The DBMS has been moved to PostgreSQL from SQLite (which was handy for testing and desktop development). Spent a good few hours dealing with Integer problems (Postgres needs the integer size to be specified).

Accounts have been reset(sorry).

Again, thanks mila.
