1181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you investing in Bitcoin? on: March 03, 2018, 10:19:31 AM
The reason why I invested in bitcoin, because it gives good future and it gives profit easily. Because bitcoin can help to improve knowledge and skills about investing. Yes, i totally agree with you there are lots of reason to investing in bitcoin. Bitcoin is the backbone of cryptocurrency. We never forget the last year's tremendous growth of bitcoin.Bitcoin has the greater impact on all the cryptocurrencies if bitcoin falls so many coins also falls and oppositely if bitcoin rises the whole market again rises. Bitcoin makes the world more digital. Now, most of the countries started accepting bitcoin as a payment method. Bitcoin is consistently growing. Bitcoin helps you to make a huge profit. 1182  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is now a good time to store some Bitcoins? on: March 03, 2018, 08:16:50 AM
I think btc and alcoin are very good priced now
The current bitcoin price is very low, because the recent bitcoin price has been declining, is a good time to buy, looking forward to its subsequent rebound.
Yes, I completely agree with you because no one can predict about bitcoin its impossible to do prediction about bitcoin.  So its all about price and timing. There is basic fundamental in the crypto world that is bought at a lower price and sell at a higher price with the use of this basic formula you can easily make a huge profit. Right now price of bitcoin is pretty low so if you buy right now and hodl it for a long time you will definitely earn huge profit. Because whenever bitcoin falls after certain time later it will bounce back so this is the great opportunity to investing in it right now to make your investment double.
1183  Economy / Economics / Re: How justified will it be to use a blockchain without a cryptocurrency? on: February 18, 2018, 09:52:19 PM
Blockchain technology is not only used for making a cryptocurrency and using it as a coin all over the world but it is a very great invention of this era. It can be stated as a second very powerful and use full invention after internet ass it is the future of the digital world. It will help the world to stay away from scam and it will help people to create a very safe and secure system. Blockchain technology has much application in real life and more and more people are coming up with a great idea to work with blockchain. One should know the significance of it and try to make it more useful in every process of technology development.
1184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: growing the Bitcointalk.org community on: February 18, 2018, 09:45:01 PM
Hi everyone,
I'd like to preface this post by saying, Im not begging for anything. Im just looking to start a discussion about possible membership reform. I have read the newbie forum posts and understand the system that is in place.

I am fairly new to cryptocurrency, so Ive got a lot to learn. I have however been using the TOR browser for quite some time, and believe in its value. That is why I  am interested in the ONION coin airdrops. I do realize that there are specific requirements that need to be fulfilled to be eligible for the drops. However, for someone who is new to crypto and is still learning; the required steps to gain merits on this board seem a little steep. I would love to be part of this growing community and to contribute to the discussions; but because I am new, I have not gained the knowledge to respond in an educated manner to many of the posts. Therefore I'm not going to put some bullshit up there just so I can gain merits. There needs to be a better way to do this. If the purpose of a community like this is to educate and ramp up support for what we believe in; then it makes more sense to try to be a little more inclusive of the new members.

just my two cents because I want to play too

thank you for any responses

The merit system is applied to the forum so that the manipulation of the forum from the low-quality posters will stop and all the serious posters will get proper levels. To reach next level you need merits and gaining them is not an easy process. You need to attract others attention to your posts and if the person finds your post useful for others or him he will merit you. For some people, this is just a piece of the shit system which proves nothing but it is a very effective way to maintain the forum content quality and give chances to skilled peoples.

I think this system will make a huge difference. You can also check all the calculations about the merit system in the meta board.
1185  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Coinplorer: most advanced profit simulator, multi currency explorer & more on: October 28, 2013, 04:34:32 AM

This is not "currency independent" + the number of coins going to the foundation is supposed to evolved isn't?
Beside this, I've always seen those "foundation coins" as a form of premined coins...

The foundation is awarded 496.03174604 coins per block. You asked "in general" how to remove the foundation coins from your calculations. This is how you do it.  The distribution to the foundation ends at block 161280. Up until block 161280, the reward to the miner is not constant.

Rather than defend against your "premined" comment I will let this website speak for the foundation.

Thanks for the bug report! It seems like Vircurex returns bullshit for the low price sometimes... I manually fixed it for the latest FRC-USD rates + added a new filter to prevent this in the future, but I'll add to "reprocess" the past to definitively get rid of the wrong points. I'll probably do this tomorrow or the day after.

Thanks for looking into this bug.
1186  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Coinplorer: most advanced profit simulator, multi currency explorer & more on: October 28, 2013, 03:03:23 AM
Great website.

As far as FRC goes--

* To remove the foundation coins from the number of coins issued per block, subtract 496.03174604. There will be no more foundation coin issued after block 161280.

* There's some problem with the FRC price data. On some of the graphs you have FRC is $20,00,000 per coin.
1187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Freicoin: demurrage crypto-currency from the Occupy movement (crowdfund) on: August 09, 2013, 12:57:05 AM
At the current state there won't be an alternative to mining, aight? But if mining continues as slow as it is, there will be more energy efficient miners to do that necessary job...

The average time to solve a block is 29.73 minutes, since the algorithm change, a value which is declining as Freicoin miners realize they should not overreact to fluctuations in the difficulty.

Since the changeover in May 3,748 blocks have been solved.
1188  Economy / Speculation / Re: Winklevoss Twins File to Launch Bitcoin Exchange-Traded Product on: July 02, 2013, 03:59:29 AM
It's an ETF. The shares of the ETF can be converted to bitcoins, or bitcoins converted into shares of the ETF. It would let you buy and sell bitcoins through participating stock brokerages. It would be like Mt.Gox but completely legal and "for real."
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [FRC] - Difficulty Adjustment fork SUCCESSFUL! on: June 18, 2013, 02:07:44 AM
what happened with the new freicoin difficulty adjustment algo, it doesn't seem to be as robust as was originally indicated

The cycle time is about a week to two weeks. It is robust, but if you're only mining for "profit" you won't get very many coins. I consider this a good thing.
1190  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Filed a request for an administrative ruling with FinCEN this morning. on: June 04, 2013, 10:57:25 AM
I'm glad you did this D&T. I hope they actually respond to this because it remains a head-scratcher. But, I'm not sure if they know the answer. Maybe they need the courts/congress to decide?
1191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ZenithCoin (ZTC) on: June 02, 2013, 11:03:14 PM
Is the Freicoin difficulty/budget code working well?

This is a pretty good demonstration of the Freicoin code to those of you who won't touch Freicoin.

I don't know about your project idea of selecting all those variables for perceived happiness but if you want a refactored version of bitcoin there is "libcoin"

1194  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The idea of Terracoins is over 10 years old just read the proof. on: May 30, 2013, 03:16:02 AM
Bernard Lietaer's currency is called the "Terra" and not "terracoin."  If Terracoin has anything to do with Bernard Lietaer it's probably news to him -- he doesn't even list it on his website, lietaer.com -- he does list Freicoin.

The terra is defined to be a basket currency. Basket currencies are a combination of the value of a barrel of oil, plus the value of an ounce of gold, plus the value of a bushel of wheat, etc. This is a strict definition and no cryptocurrency exists which can do this yet. The terra will also incorporate a demurrage charge to pay for the acquisition, storage, and sale of the component commodities in the basket.

This is certainly not Terracoin.
1195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Freicoin profitability on: May 24, 2013, 09:01:18 PM
what's up with the sudden bump? did the difficulty drop?

Don't worry about it. Keep mining coin-of-the-day.

One of the guys who gave us the diff filter just doesn't want to talk about it?

Was that in a nice NEW YORK accent as well Galambo?

I've explained the filter over and over for the past year. The time/place for promotion was in getting it implemented. The effect should become obvious in operation and hopefully its transparent to users.
