401  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 30, 2017, 04:36:10 PM
My problem from yesterday happened again..
It was fine last night into this morning and when I got to work and checked the first card was 84 while cards 2 and 3 were mid to low 60s..
So I dropped the power from 80 to 70 and it dropped back to mid 60s.. I checked the power usage and prior to me dropping it, the card was running at 100%! Afterburn was set to 80% and the other cards were 80..

Anyone have any idea why the card would run at 100 when it was set to 80? Adjusting the setting to 70 woke it up.. but still..

This means the card became unstable and reset to DEFAULT settings which is 84c max temp... reduce the core clock down.. and try again... run it for atleast an hour to know if its stable

anybody else seeing transaction not found wiht latest payments cca 5h ago? Still didn't get my BTC despite TX is shown on payouts section. But when I click on it says "transaction not found". Never had issues before... and all past payouts when you click on link work fine.

Having problem with connecting to blake2s stratum. 'Stratum connection failed: connection refused.'

ya im getting connection refused on ALL algo's i mine from zPool

Is maintenance or connection issues happening? All my mining rigs have disconnected from both mining locations to all algo ports.. i am unable to connect to any algo port for more than a few seconds before being disconnected, ping to ports is over 5000ms....

connection at both sites exceed 100mb, so not isp...

Not right now no but the chaps blasting yescrypt with a bot net I think are the culprits.

I may just drop yescrypt altogether, it's always been a resource hog at the best of times.

i really hope something can be done.. because the lack of ability to connect to your pool is forcing my multi-algo miner to connect to minerpoolhub more and more the last few hours... even with your pool listed at a higher priority... it just cycles through 3 attempts to connect to 11 different algo's, then after 33 attempts it defaults to equihash on minerpoolhub for 60minutes before it attempts again...

you have to remember payouts have been extremely low the last 2-3 days... yesterday i was down to $5.43/ per 1080ti compared to 2 weeks ago i was making $17.00/ per 1080ti... market is not constant.. it will fluctuate.. yall are very hyped over pricing that has only ever been seen once... as in PEAK of the profits...

few days ago i had a sata power connector from the T5500 looked deformed and extremely hot on a gpu that kept dropping out... i have since soldered the wires directly to the riser pins using some 4 wire cable i purchased from local homedepot....

Has anyone figured out a way to connect the new ETHminer to something like zpool or MHP? i looked into it and it seems to be only usable on dwarfpool, nicehash, and like 1 other based on the code....

crackfoo,

Whatever you did for equihash, thank you... i switched my other rigs over to allow equihash.. ive only had 2 disconnects in 11hrs... which both reconnected within 3 tries

good to hear. ^_^

Ya whatever you did increased my speed to your server, i was running in the 40ms ping rate, now im around 15ms to the server...but i have noticed that the last 2 days ping rate on skein port is randomly spiking to the 200-300ms range

Anyone else experience this problem;

I have 3 Asus FE 1080ti on one board with some case fans to move the air around. Fan speed at 70%, cards at 80% power. Temps were 60-70 for The last 24hrs.. before adding the 3rd I had the first and third pci-e slots used and the cards were stable.

I wake up this morning (24hrs after installing the 3rd card) and the first one is running at 84 degrees.. I check the fans there all working, the fan on the gpu is working..

I turn off the rig (twice now) and the gpu wont come back online. I didn't have time to further investigate as I needed to go to work..

Thoughts ?

All of the stability issues i have ran into to date with GPU's dropping out like that lead back to overloading or weak power rail/bad connection for the sata power to the risers... found switching the cables out would fix it sometimes.. so i figured it was just a poor connection across the connectors... so i converted that rig over to hard wire for power going from the power supply to the powered risers, which actually benefited me because i can run the GPU further away now with the custom power cable length. What i did was go to homedepot, in the electrical isle they have these 8 wire screw in power boards for $0.89ea, that connect straight across... i used a molex tool to remove the connectors on the power supply, then un-crimped the pin off the wire and screwed it into the power board, then on the other side of the board i ran the wires to the power riser at the length i needed with some 4 wire cable i bought on a spool and soldered that end directly to the pins on the powered riser.. since doing this.. the system has been running flawless for 2 weeks now without any gpu drop out issues... when i initially set it up i found out the power supply on that system shares 2 different sata power pigtails off the same power rail on the PSU, so more than 2 gpu's was 50/50 chance of working.. and 4 was dropping in and out constantly.. i noticed this and switched the 2nd pair of 2 gpu's to another pigtail coming off a different rail and all 4 worked on first bootup... so the one rail has 5 total sata power connectors off it, but it would only support 2 GPU's...

Since my last post, i had 211 disconnects on equihash on the one rig still set to mine equihash 24/7.... 1 period it sat for 41minutes before it finally reconnected..

Crackfoo, can you please take a look into the equihash connection issues.... i just looked through my output file i spit to a text document the last 24 hours, i lost connection to equihash 61 times during mining with failed to reconnect attempts 3 times each, forcing my batch to switch to another algo to mine... i would really like to switch my other rigs back over to allow mining of equihash, since its one of the more profitable ones currently.. but the disconnects are brutal throughout the day...
414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 28, 2017, 05:23:58 AM
MAN, today was a ruff day.. barely made $5/card on my 1080ti's
Someone was really expecting some algo to be magic money today;  Watched ~300Gh sit on skien for a few hours and vanish....  Did some strange things to the diff for that period of time... not enough time for it to recover and be more consistent.

Its now ~73Gh on poolside and back to normal seeming profitability.    I personally continued to mine when profitability on skien dipped under 0.002mBTC/Mh, so this profitability currently doesn't scare me.

I swear;  hashrates above a certain amount in a pool produce less profitable results.  Amount somewhat depends on the value of your dividend, and network hashrate.

I see it often.....

But look guys;  we were talking about this correction happening 2 months ago when it all started.....   It was an excellent and profitable ride for me; and continues to be.

I see GPU prices declining once people understand how things are going to be (and are) in the real world.  I'm still rather salty about how the GPU prices jumped just because of the recent profitability;  even though the manufacturer lowered its price.  I am finally starting to see $400 1070's hit CL again.  This is good in my eyes.

ya im really curious if sitting on a single algo is more profitable over the multi-algo thing.. i do reduce my jumping to 3 a day, but boy was the profit nice the last few weeks.. just wish i would have scaled up before the reduction in earnings.. i hope the prices dont continue to decline in profit.. im just now getting up to 18 x 1080ti's mining in my mini operation....

I really like the recent updates, looks like your really starting to polish up the software for the community, but i have a few questions...

Is there anyway you can add 2 miner software to the list to use... 98% of my rigs use these well known miners for the Nvidia cards...i tested using your built in ccminersp version, but i only get 70-80% of the hashrates i get on alexis1.0, and i tried linking to alexis to force using it, but then i loose the ability to mine the half of coins that alexis miner doesnt support that ccminer-x64 does well... if you need them i can give you the miners
1) ccminerAlexis1.0 also called ccminerAlexis78 * this is the most used miner for pascal cards on altcoins
2) ccminer-x64 also called ccminerCuda 2.0 * this miner is always updating with the niche coins that Alexis miner doesnt tailor to....

In regards to the auto-profit switching, does it use a SET PASS list to let the pool determine which algo to mine or is auto-profit switching only using the coins listed from whatomine main api list? (basically only coins with revenue/profit numbers)? i am trying to understand how it works, because i currently use NemoMiner multi-algo on both zpool and minerpoolhub. You recently added most of the algo's i mine for profit to your list and my current miner submits the set pass to the pool, they basically decide what to mine from that list as most profitable... if this is how yours works i plan to switch over to your software if can gain the miner software i need for my GTX1070/GTX1080ti rigs

+1 for support for the ccMiner forks.

+1 for the ability to just add our own custom forks of miners and have the most show up in the list.

One after another, new releases are released, and you just add a new ccminer-Alexis to work normally. Sibcoin (SIB) and LBRY (LBC) can not ((sadly

ccminer-Alexis is on the list of miners to add support for.

Keep in mind that already today you can download ccminer-Alexis to the computer you are running Awesome Miner, then use the Upload Software feature to push it to all remote miners:
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/uploadsoftware.aspx
Then you configure your Managed Miners to not do Automatic download, but instead use a specified path. This is where you point it to the exe-file for ccminer-Alexis. Now Awesome Miner will be able to launch ccminer-Alexis instead of the standard ccminer.

Of course it's getting even easier if I add it directly to the Automatic download feature. The reason I talk about the Upload software feature is that there will always be some mining software that isn't included or is of latest version in Awesome Miner. Using the Upload software feature you can push the latest software to the entire farm in a single operation and use it.

I would be very grateful if ccminer-Alexis will be included in the standard set of your program, because at present you do not have any alternatives for Sibcoin (SIB) and LBRY (LBC) ((And when you download the software every time you change the currency or something else this The miner dies and you have to load it again (((

I've not used ccminer-Alexis myself, so I was just trying to figure out from where I could download the latest version. Turned out to be a bit complicated, because there are no releases since 2 years on the Github page:
https://github.com/alexis78/ccminer
The only binary distribution I could find was the one compiled and posted on this site, but it's a few months old:
http://cryptomining-blog.com/8471-you-should-use-ccminer-alexis-1-0-for-better-x11-ghost-hashrate/

Is it this one you are running?

I think it is the same one, i have been using the one i got from Nemominer pre 2.0.... from my understanding is Alexis no longer updating the miner, but every ccminer i have tested to date, Alexis is still the best at the algo's it supports for some reason. The Alexis version was optimized around the GTX DDR5x memory, so all the GPUs with that memory like the 1080 and 1080ti gain massive hashrates over other ccminers

Just curious about what others experience...

I know AwesomeMiner gets the PER DAY estimates from whattomine (so I don't fault AwesomeMiner for its estimates) but just wondering if my experience is similar to others. It seems the actual daily revenue is usually much less than the estimates, as much as 20-35%.

Is this what others find as well?

I did save my hashrate and whattomine shows the same estimate, so not at all saying it's an AwesomeMiner issue.  But wondering if I'm just using bad pools or bad settings somewhere - or if realizing a much lower revenue than the whattomine estimates every day is normal.

Thanks

the estimates on whattomine are based off the last 5 minutes of value, so its predicting your daily earnings based off something staying constant, which is not reality... the coin will change throughout the day, thus why your seeing different earnings...

You sure about ZEC?

It's also way down in profitability right now.

everything is way down in profitability
ever since eth flashed crashed to 10 cents for a short time wednesday everyone pulled out of everything it seems

the flash crash was the result of someone placing a multi-million-dollar sell order at market price, meaning ETH would change hands at whatever price bidders were currently offering until the entire order was filled – no matter how much lower the price was than the current price of ETH.

Ya a lot of people lost a ton of money, Youtuber BBT lost over 137k from it.. he mainly mines ETH and had stop loss limits set in case of drops in price.... and when the snowball effect occurred, it triggered his auto-sells cashing him out on 291k worth of ETH at 154k price point...

What had happened was an ETH ICO wanted to cashout some of his funds for some unknown reason... ($275,814,878.06 worth of ETH to be exact), which took all the sell orders set in the system, which kept lowering the price on the exchange due to automatic price shift based on volume algo, so as the sell order was fulfilled, it just kept dropping and dropping, triggerings millions of people's auto sell limits.. which totaled MORE than the volume of fiat cash available on the exchange, thus dropping it to 10 cents, but millions also made a fortune off this.. IBS mining group had auto buys setup on ETH at some super low limit and bought up MILLIONS at around $0.25 a share... which once the exchange stabilized.. brought him up to a multi-billion dollar account worth..

amazing.... crypto exchanges has a long way to go to be on par to stock exchanges - I bet there are safe-guards to monitor and track events like above at NYSE etc.

Anyways, if you a trader/speculator .... the charts doesn't looks good because its still a sea of red. If you are a miner, not so bad.... but you are earning less - keep calm and keep the miners powered on

I feel like getting into XRP and Golem since its on the cheap now....

ya, its been ruff few days.. still profitable tho... to take advantage of the zcash with the lower power consumption mining, i noticed that when im mining on EWBF for equihash on zpool im consuming roughly 18% less watts across the cards and they run cooler... so i inflated my equihash numbers by 18% to favor it when its up on profit more so than others.. it has turned out to be a decent day earning today, mainly swapping between equihash, hmq1725, and blake2s on auto swap...

don't pay any attention to the graphs they are rubbish... just monitor the miner console..

Nemo

I know this, i was just giving him the graph to give him an idea of when the issues were happening, not any numerical value to how many errors.. just a timeline compared to traffic spikes... good job on the miner btw, i tested it out lastnight.. but i found it locking up my rigs to often.. so i switched back the miner i have been using.. look forward to your future progress..
