I have not been able to connect to groestl at all when it trys to switch to it, possible connection issue....
it attempts 3 times, then moves on but has failed 23 times to connect today

Patrike,

Anyway you can reduce the switching interval down to 1 minute min from 5 minute for pools that benefit from faster intervals...

Also....

Anyway you can add algo's: C11 (Mainly).......... and possibly hmq1725, tribus, and timetravel on zpool?

If you do add tribus, your going to need to add ccminertribus2.1 as its the latest miner supporting it as of now...

Just wanted to chime in on the 1080 ti discussion Smiley

I have 5 of them running in a closed 4U rosewill case and they are cruising along at @ 85% power, +200 core, +500 memory
They are all Founders Editions as I needed blower cards, and the highest temperature I see is on an EVGA ~64 degrees, but I think it must be in the worst spot for airflow.

I haven't been chasing efficiency at all, and just went for a good solid overclock that was stable 24/7 with EWBF.

Next rig is going to be 6 or 7 1080 ti's in a closed 4U case, but I'm not sure even a 1600W PSU will handle 7 cards, so it might just be 6 Cheesy

Are you running the airflow in the case backwards? i ask this because i was planning on putting rigs into 4U cases and bought 2 cases, i put 5 cards in one and because the heat was being circulated over the CPU, i was having issues with the CPU overheating on me... so that build has been running with the lid on the case off since then with a box ran layed on top sucking the air out of the case...

Hi,

I just added the jha algo and SWEEP coin to zpool.

Cheers

I added it to my mining rigs, but unfortunately its not yet once broke into the top 5 for profit on my rigs, so since benchmarking it on my rigs, its not been mined again since... I found CCminerTribus 2.1 to have the highest hashing rates on the 1080 and 1080ti's on it

Phew  Smiley

Thank you for your help

Philip, sorry for a small hijack of your thread.

Went to buy 2x 1080Ti and couldn't pay so that have triggered my question.

ZOTAC or EVGA ? Smiley

Thank you again for help

Never used zotac, but as reported, Phil has seen good results.

He's also right about EVGA, I specifically only buy their cards now....

Quality product; over-engineered (not in a bad way in the slightest); and the warranty is second-to-none.       I highly recommend EVGA products.

I agree. My farm is mostly FE edition and after getting 2x evga 1080ti sc2, I'm never cheaping out to go with FE again. A lot quieter, 100mhz higher boost clocks at same power draw, 3 - 5% higher hash rate that my batch of FE cards and best in industry warranty.

Even if it costs $30 more, I think we can recoup part of that $30 when reselling.

Have you checked if zotac gives 3 year transferrable warranty too?

See if i was to start over and buy ALL of the same card, it would be the Asus Turbo 1080ti's, out of all the 1080ti's they are the only cards that have given me 0 issues to date on multiple rigs as well seem to cool the best during the peak of the day here in Florida with the 95+F temps.... They do run hotter naturally it seems, but the fans on them are just amazing at the higher fan speeds it seems, so at night when the temps are the coolest, they are running at the highest fan speed to maintain my 70c target temp, but during the day around 3pm-ish, they run of the lowest fan % to maintain the 70c target temp and the hashrates on them are kinda in the middle after applying overclocking, they dont hash as well as the EVGA cards, but they beat the pants off my MSI and Gigabyte cards in hashrates, especially during the hotter parts of the day..

I actually have a hate love relationship with 1080ti evga cards, they are the only cards that when freeze up they just lock up the computer solid and it never recovers, EVERY other brand i have when they freeze up they just flash the screen and reset the settings on the GPU, but always recover... i absolutely hate when a random EVGA card locks up a computer and its stuck unable to mine for hours tell i realize its locked up..

that's very strange.   I have never had a card that doesn't recover from a driver crash.... not unless I was trying extreme over/underclocking....

Ya, i have an ongoing hate/love issue with the EVGA rig i have with 1080ti's. All 4 of the ones i have randomly lockup, its not always the same GPU and its not the computer they are plugged into, because i thought it was that also and swapped it with my spare computer i have with no change. I think they hold onto the heat more so than other cards even with the so called advanced cooling, because when i point my laser gun on them to check temps, the EVGA cards report LOWER temps than other cards, but the metal overall on the cards are easily 10-15c hotter than other cards reporting the exact same temps in MSI Afterburner... I will say this tho, the EVGA cards hash the highest out of ALL my cards to date on AIR, so that is the love side of things, but its annoying when i wake up and find that rig has locked up and i has been since like 20 minutes after i fell asleep... just my kind of luck i guess.

but recently i bought some smart switches so i can turn the outlet off on the PC through an app,

Are you happy with the switches ? do you have a link ?

The ones i use...They use an app atleast on android to remote turn them off and on and it also keeps track of power usage. Actually is an easy way to know if how your rig is running if you had them on all your rigs...

So from time to time I'm mining an algo that brings in 5-10 eur/day.. Sometimes it's an algo that earns only less 3 eur/day
When I compare my earnings with the earnings from yesterday at thesame hour, I earned less than 3 euros.

I must say NiceHash was earning me more. Am I doing something wrong?

Obviously, because when i pull up nicehash miner, it says ill earn like 50% less than i currently make on Nemominer

Hi philip,

What are you guys mining to get 4.25 (after power deduction) per Ti card? I am making 3.25(before power deduction \ 0.016 zcash per day) at nanopool-zcash. Could you give some hints for a newbie miner here? i tried multi-algo autoswitching at zpool and it was even worst.

65% tdp, -100 mem, +50 core.

Go back to zpool don't switch.  But pick the right coin on your own.

Sounds cruel but you need to learn to pick coins on your own.

Switching software is  not the way to go .

Try skein for a few days.

Try a new coin after that.

It is hard to teach a person how to pick coins.

I am holding Zec
I am holding dgb
I am holding sia
I am holding btc

Ya, i have a lot of dgb from the week i mined on yiimp, but unfortunately its not even remotely worth cashing it out, i have been watching my friend do some small trades lately on poloniex and such... he seems to be making small returns on most days on his small profit sell orders he typically buys and sets auto sell orders for 0.5% to 1.0% of what he bought it for... seems to be working out for him, he is just playing with small money orders like less than $50 worth at a time.. because he is still to scared to put more skin in yet...

My hope is the 1080 ti's drift up a bit  as I would sell them off.  I am a bit tired of mining as it is.

Say it aint so..... are you just getting low earnings? My 30 day average as of today after deducting my power cost is $4.71 per 1080ti card since all i have is 1080ti's at the moment.

They make about 4.50. Each  a day for me after power costs.

But for me summer power is costly,  so I would sell off all of the above.

As it would be all profit and less work.

Remember I am older (60) and can get run down a bit easier then some younger members.

I get ya, i seem to have to play with the rigs like 1 or 2 times a week.. been getting old.. but recently i bought some smart switches so i can turn the outlet off on the PC through an app, then i had computer setup to auto start after a powerloss, so i just turn it off, let it boot up and log in via teamviewer to check it all out, the mining is setup to auto start backup on startup.... but most of my issues lately has been heat issues.. i keep having random GPU's getting stuck not mining, but still consuming power.. dont understand it.. then the GPU because its stuck it doesnt respond with fans and gets to hot and goes missing tell i get a chance to restart the pc.
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: July 20, 2017, 03:56:06 AM
I only see ~20 miners... and ~300MH

Right. Now it's at 19 miners and 524 MH/s.

My rig of 3 1080 Tis can mine 130 MH/s, which is nearly 1/4 of that total hashing power.

But zpool never shows more than about 800 KH/s on my timetravel shares. It's really odd.

I have been kinda curious about this also, one of the algo's i have been seeing half on reports from my rigs, because when all my rigs are on timetravel im hashing 880MH/s, but the pool will only say something like 400-500MH/s pool wide...
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NEMOSMINER multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner on: July 20, 2017, 03:51:33 AM

but first:  how many cards are in that rig?  What model(s)?

Thanks i will get to that when i get home and post it.

I am running 3x Gigabyte G1 gtx 1070s

ok good;  not more than 3 cards so that throws some possible scenarios out the window.

but for sure that ccminer error is from it not being able to connect to the pool for whatever reason....  so I am going to predict that if the miner doesn't work again when you get home, that a ping will fail.  a traceroute may be able to point you to what hop along the data path your connection isn't making it through, as it will ping every "hop" or node, between you and the place you are tracing.

Okay so i did the traceroute, and i find the hop where it gets "request timed out" but what do i do now to fix it?

 15    61 ms    59 ms    59 ms  mine.zpool.ca [149.56.122.79]

Trace complete.

I get the same error on all 3 of my nvidia pcs can't seem to work the optimized miner.  Also I'm having a different issue with the 6x 1070 rig as when i use the regular nemosminer 2.0.7 it actually connects and mines at least but will randomly hang upon opening up an algorithm after 30 mins or so of mining and then stay stuck and not mine anything until i close the miner and then the script starts again.  Any ideas?

You need to fix your internet man.. your isp is routing you through some either slow or bad routes... i would try hard resetting your modem to maybe kick it out of that loop... my ping to zpool.ca is 11ms, so in theory i am able to request and send packets 5.5x times in the time your internet is able to request.. so having a delay in your internet like that will place you in the position for a lot of bad unlucky blocks being mined, because your internet delay fails you thousands of times a day as you start mining a block and within your internet delay period soemone else completed it, but your still working hard on that block, you finally submit it and its not credited to you because it was found by someone else... thus unlucky blocks

My first two racks of dedicated machines are full... with these plus the others scattered around the office / at home I have 101 total GPUs online.

I've swapped cards in a few of the systems earlier to reduce the amount of AMD cards I am running... it's likely I will swap almost all of the AMD cards to GTX 1060s or 1080s.

Are you running 3 GPU's per rig? i was looking at your picture it looked like you had 1 gpu in the system and 2 outside on what appears to be flooring planks?

Question for you on the power, how come your using the internal PSU over external PSU on the GPU's? I ask because the system has a very low quality PSU in my understandings that wastes away like 20% of energy as heat above 50% load.... i have been running mine all on external server PSU's because of this issue to try to cut electricity cost.

337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fifth alt coin thread last four got too big. on: July 20, 2017, 12:36:10 AM
I have decided to take a chance on alternative cooling on one of my GPU rigs at my parents, i have been having lots of thermal issues with this Florida heat and after thinking about it over and over because i have turned the cards way down and im still bouncing off 100% fan at peak of the day to stay in the 70c range... i have decided to try out water cooling on one rig, I contacted NZXT, because i did not want to have to purchase waterblocks for every single card i mine with with to do watercooling, so i contacted them asking if i can test out one of their Kraken G12 kits on GPU's mining, they agreed to send me a set of 4 G12 kits and multiple different AIO's they sell to do a partnered sponsorship for an honest review. I am going to be doing 2 different test with these G12 kits, i honestly was not planning to run AIO's on the GPU's, because i have 1 single hybrid 1080ti that i run mining and god bless the poor waterlines on that thing are hot as balls and i had to mount it very carefully, because once the heat got into the lines they wanted to fold over extremely easy.

I am going to do a review on the G12 kit with AIO's to fulfill my obligations, but i plan on installing universal copper GPU waterblocks on them afterwards and run a single custom loop using 1 inch pex tubing with barbed fittings. The reason for the G12/Universal waterblcok route is because, i can return the GPU's back to AIR when i want to sell them later easily and i can reuse the kits along with blocks on different GPU's.

The current plan is to use a portable pool for the concept as the dumping location for heat, i got this idea from the guy in the bitcoin section who watercooled all his Bitmain Antminers and instead of using radiators and fans to cool his loop, he ran the watercooling loop into a large copper spiraled loop that he laid inside of his pool in the backyard of his house. The heat from his Antminer's would be absorbed by the water in his pool and the large body of water would release the heat into the atmosphere.

Instead of using large pumps to push water through all his Gear loops, he used gravity fed system, because the pumps were unable to overcome the resistance of the waterblocks on the Antminers after so many in a loop, so after finding this out he switched to a overflow gravity system, which has larger 2 inch pipes running along the top of the wall as the reservoir basically and each pex line ran off the larger pipe gravity feeding coolant through the machine and back to the pool to cycle again. The larger pipe on the walls is fed by multiple cheaper pumps to split the load and a overflow level is used to dump excess pumped fluid back to the pump.

I ended up grabbing a Z400 from Ebay with no OS.  Grabbed a $20 win10 license from softwareswap.  So I have $100 in this bad boy and running great.  A tad more work but about $80 less than newegg.

you dont need an OS license, i run most of my machines with unactivated windows on USB stick, i found the internal HD on them were using way to much energy mining full time i dropped about 20watts off the plug switching to USB stick, plus its very simple to just mass copy the usb sticks on my main pc for future builds.....
