521  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 11, 2017, 11:00:25 PM

Well some are not waiting and for ETH, 1070s and 1050tis are the ones to watch, at the right settings they are as good as the AMD 400/500 series even lower wattage.

Do you mean 1060 and not 1050ti? I have read that the 1060 can push 24MH/s while the 1050ti does 14MH/s mining ETH.

Although 1080ti/1080/1070 for ZEC can hit 400sols upwards because of the high number of cores;

Stock settings on high-end 1080ti already hits 31-32 MHs in Claymore.

Crank up the mem clocks and you get even higher.

I can do 35-37mh on a 1080ti.

If the card has earned enough  then mining it on eth is viable.

Ie you got a 1080ti April 5 and have mined it for 65 days  earning 8 a day after power

say 500  do this is now in effect a 200 dollar card  mining 36mh if you move it to eth.

How are you pushing it to 35-37?

I can only manage 33 on my auros had a few lockups when trying to overclock etc so I didn't play with that too much.  That is on 100% TDP 33.

Also side question for everyone mining and auto converting to BTC.  Do you point this directly to your desktop wallet or is it acceptable to point it directly to an exchange wallet.  I only get a payout every few days from the various pools I mine and it is costing me fees to transfer it to the exchange wallet as I am trading some of the BTC earned into other coins such as ETH.  Is this acceptable practice to go directly to the exchange wallet?  Or should I contine the way I am and just eat the fees.

100 % tdp is not the way To mine on a 1080 ti

aorus  should be

  75% tdp
+75   core
+400 ram
  75 % fan manual

for eth mining.  do those settings  and see what you get.

please trust me on this    no 1080 ti need or like 100%  tdp

No I don't mine on 100% TDP.  I just was saying the best I had got on stock.

I tried using settings I saw you post for auros +130 core but it locked me up.

Then I tried this before seeing this post based on other auros settings I saw you post but they might have been for zec/skein mining.

TDP 75%
Just tried +80 core
-100 ram
75 Fan

getting 31-32.

Tried the settings you posted above.  Getting from 32-35  when it says set work seed it drops down to 20.  I think this is normal though I have not mined eth for a while.  Thanks for the settings.

  75% tdp
+75   core
+400 ram
  75 % fan manual

=32-35   I could try going higher on the core? I know it locks up at 130.

I know Phillip knows WAY more than me on this, but you can also try to turn down the intensity of the miner itself. For example my MOST efficient settings for skein algo that i spent many of hours fine tuning on my gigabyte cards is unable to run half the other coins on zpool list, so one way i got around this via reading about it in another post is to turn down the intensity, 15-30 range, 15 is the lowest, 30 is heavy duty... then run it for a while and see if it stable, then turn up the core clock... My current skein settings is 64TDP/70c/+307/-502 with intensity of 25 on skein.. at intensity of 27 i couldnt get it stable over 250 core...*dropping intensity does drop the hashrate tho...

I also took the mining batch further, i created a secondary batch with the intensity turned down to 15 on my GPU0, then full tilt on 27 intensity on the other GPU and running these settings i can play league of legends without any fuss or lockups.. the intensity at 15 is low enough that its still partially mining, but still able to process the game so i can play while mining.. I just start up both batch files and play my game

Intensity command is "-i 15"
522  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 11, 2017, 08:35:41 PM

Hmm, thats odd, when i was playing with the idea of mining ETH, i was getting 32-33MH/s on stock settings and +200 on core was pushing it to 35-36Mh/s, but that was before learning about downclocking cards to get better hashrate/watt usage...

I personally started on JAXX Wallet, but the cost to send it somewhere was extremely costly... then i moved to Coinbase and used that for a bit, but since moved over to Poloniex because i was playing with Yiimp for a week basically and they dont have auto-exchange, the transfer fee is extremely cheap imo, but you will get a nasty email if you just start using it and transfer money out directly without doing any trades, since they offer the cheaper transfer fees with profits they earn off the trade platform...... i have never gotten any of these emails in the 3 transfers from poloniex to coinbase so far, but i also did a few trades from dgb to btc... so that may be the difference.. ive been playing with the idea of trading some daily, but the amount of free time i have been having lately and amount of funds i have to trade would be very little at this time imo.... i gotta mine up a balance first lol
523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU Fan Replacement: How often and How expensive? on: June 11, 2017, 07:57:45 PM
I was just curious what is the going rate on GPU fans lasting on the mining rigs.... i ask this because im just researching the future cost of the operation as i dive deeper into it...

Of the few post i did manage to find while searching that talked briefly on it, multiple people mentioned having to replace fans within 2 years of placing them in service... so is this true?

Also what is the going price and who do yall typically go to for these fan replacements? 2 post i seen mentioned prices, 1 said it was $59 for the set of 3 on a few of his.. and another post mentioned $70 for the set on his post..

@vg54dett

- Could you explain why willing to sell just beofre POS ?

>> my group consist of 5 retired guys each with our own specialties and areas of interests. We pooled a modest amount of retirement money into BTC, ETH and alt-mining (the wives staged a brief protest at end of 2015 when we first started).... we also have a small 2PH BTC farm ~ S9s and Avalon 721s,741s and a 25GHs X11 farm hosted in a very cold country above the USA. Anyways.... we are predicting (with somewhat good trends and analysis) that ETH will hit 1000$ and beyond by end of the year.... so thats the main reason of the 2nd GPU farm of 33 x 6 x RX470 exclusively mining ETH. We intend to partially cashout before first POS ~ 1st quarter 2018???. When Vitalik hinted that he may consider 1/3 to go POS ... POS+POW hybrid.... my group thinks we are on the right track.... who knows what future brings.... but this is our current strategy.

- Where do you will point the 2nd 22 rigs farm to ?
>> to Dwarfpool.

-Are you happy with Dwarfpool ? fair payouts ? hashrate reported close to the calculated one ? I'm currently on Ethpool, but maybe time to change...

>> Personally I like ethpool. The first GPU farm was 100% on ethpool and solid as rock.

When Dwarfpool upgraded their global nodes, we were getting single digit & incredible pings at 4-5ms (the proxy/stratum server must be in next building!!!)

Our hash submission became very consistent, ultra fast and 0 rejects - that's the basis of of choosing Dwarfpool.

Our trusty backup remains at ethpool and ethermine (3rd backup).

Suggest you do your ping analysis regularly -- most major pools are actively upgrading their global stratum nodes.

That is very interesting, do you run everything on air cooling? just trying to research into the idea of going larger.. i just ordered 2 more GTX1080ti's lastnight which will bring my total up to 8 very soon, yet only 4 is only running currently due to mobo to risers issues with the 2nd computer not functioning.... so i ordered another mobo combo to try out that is heavily used by others.. im pretty sure 3 different brand risers are not all bad when tested with 2 different PSU's.... I really want to buy more GPU's, but im hesitant to use my own funds, really would prefer the BTC to pay for them, but im still to new and to small for that right now.. and right now the profits earned are pretty dang amazing.. just scared of what to come in the future.... Sad

I have found multiple mini-warehouse rentals near me, a couple 300sqft units for $300/month and 650sft units for $450/month... the only issue im cautious on to not go forth with this is the pure aspect of keeping things cool.. i have been testing my 2nd rig in a friends garage since my condo detached garage doesnt have power outlets sadly... and HOA will not allow me to have power in it.. and his garage got pretty toasty with just the 2 gpu's during the day with the garage door down here in sunny Florida.. granted GPU temps maintained under 69c, but what happens when i start adding more.. will it hold is my question
525  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 11, 2017, 05:43:47 PM
miners do not want or need or should ever use auto fan settings.
manual is better to mine with.

Phillip, can you explain more on this? i ask because i have been running air rigs on auto and just locking the temp to adjust to...just trying to get the understanding why you recommend it

Also another question.. how do yall order multiple GPU's? i ordered 2 on ebay from newegg and 2 on newegg and they voided one of the orders with statement "ordered more than 2 per person, voided per policy guidelines....."

Tired  and still wondering if skein will come back.

Seems to depend on where DGB goes - it's down 50% or so from it's peak this past week, and not looking real good right now.

Nice run while it lasted though, and it's still up quite a bit over the last month or so.

Anyone else notice that GTX 1070 cards have suddenly gone expensive and starting to get into short supply?

Any bets it's at least partly related to the AMD 470/480/570/580 supply issue and some large farmers are slopping over into the "next best" ETH mining card options?

ya i think so, but im not understanding it....how is eth profitable to mine? i just watched someone build a 6 card 1070 rig on youtube and started it up, the numbers only seemed to be in the $25/day for a 6 gpu rig

So without reading the entire thread.... (Long), is the support for Nvidia coming soon for it? or already possible? looking to move to something like this and keep my alexis ccminer

its the next step in development ...

Thank you, i really am looking for a better option than what i have available as an Nvidia miner.. Windows just is so inconsistent.. and the fact they force restart/update your stuff is super annoying

1080 ti under $600 brand new with eBay bucks without $640

Thanks to phil for putting me onto eBay bucks with mining rig parts lol

Anyone going to order these / have these cards already ?

ebay bucks?

ewbf 3.3 mining zec at nicehash

Awesome thanks man.  Is exactly the same as my batch and I have confirmed on nicehash it is coming in nice and fast.  Am making $3 US more a day than nicehash program.   Now I just have to figure out a way to turn my mining profits into actual money.

Is that $3/per card?

I looked into that card, but many complained that it ran very hot.. which concerns me for mining.
The newegg reviews?
Reviews were very good on amazon
Guess I'll find out xD

All the heating issues i seen on tomshardware and such in regards to gaming.. it very well could be a great mining card.. just dont know tell you get them

532  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Building Cheap Miners : My "Secret" on: June 10, 2017, 11:53:37 PM
Don't forget that I mentioned "adapters' for dell t5500:

- It has 2x6 pins PEG => 6 to 8 adapters

- to plug third card you may need to use adapters aswell (and it should not be an AMD card they use to much power especially through the riser).

Psu is big enough but each rail has it's limits.

- I plan to plug a 4th card, and ordered adapters for cpu2 rail (as there is no cpu 2 in my case), BGNing CPU 8Pin to PEG  8Pin. they take forever to come from china.

I will share some pictures when I get my T5500 and configure it for 3 cards -- I will use 3x RX580 cards in that one I think. Either that or 3x Geforce 1070.

hmm have a link to these adapters?
I was just going to run the workstation to 5 cards on risers.. or maybe place 1 in the computer and 4 on risers.. this is going to be my first open case build with this workstation, i was just going to place the workstation on its side on a garage shelving unit i purchased from home depot, then suspend the GPU's off the shelf above with zip ties.. seen it on another persons setup and he has over 50 rigs this way, but all his are with brand new mobo and cpu's... I do have a 1200watt EVGA PSU that was for another build on its way i can use temp tell i get adapters and just short out the startup pin so i can turn it on from the switch on the back... i also have a server 1200w psu on its way from ebay, want to try one of these units out due to how dang cheap they are.

I ordered on amazon, look for "BGNing CPU 8Pin to PEG  6+2Pin"

So is that the connector for the 8pin plugs coming off the PSU? i looked up the part number on the PSU it says it has 2x8PEG and 2x6PEG off the PSU

Is this a bug with the new skein update?
It added 1 of the skein coins, but the others are missing and its saying the coin profit is 0
Awesome Miner can use whattomine.com or coinwarz.com for coin statistics, to figure out the profit. However, there are no Skein based coins listed on any of these sites today, so I don't think it's possible to get any automatic profit info here, right?

There is Skein algo coins listed on whattomine, example DGB SKEIN

in my original config for claymore I have each miner name if I was to use custom file upload it would upload each miner in awesome miner with the same worker name I have set up in claymore right? How do I fix this

I think this is kinda one of the issues im running into also...because im really not wanting to use any of the built in miners

for example:
ccminerAlexis78- i currently use to mine Blake2s, Skein, and lbry algos on zpool mutli-algo setup
ccminerTanguy- i find has higher hashrates on decred, and groest1 algos on zpool mutli-algo setup
ccminerAlexis78blakecoin- is currently what i use for blakecoin algo on zpool mutli-algo setup

If i change the specified location of ccminer-sp to one of the 3, then im kinda stuck i have no ability that i can find to add the additional 2 others to mine those specific algo's

also quick question, is there a way to reduce intensity on some of the algo's i have to run different algo's on different intensities or they break my rig when they ramp up on difficulty
536  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Fourth alt coin thread last three got oversized. on: June 10, 2017, 08:53:23 PM
I moved to zcash via nicehash still left 1 rig on skein at the solar array

http://zpool.ca/?address=16yLHLoeyuCLPMXkVpC3gyrRYvwRGwjKJr

So what is the reason for moving to Zcash.  I find it a bit tricky to move with so little hashing power right now.  Are you shifting most of it becuase Zpool is having issues or what is the reasoN?

zpool has been having weird issues.  So I will give it a break.

also I use less power with zec and  it will be getting hot.

Yep two 8 hour periods.  Both down 30% or more than what I usually get from zpool.

Switching over to Zec also.  I was mining directly to zec wallet using EWBF but want to mine it to the same BTC wallet I am using for my  skein mining.   Easiest way to do this is to use nicehash?   Do you mean the actual program?  Or is there a way to continue to use EWBF and just adjust the pool settings?

My current bat file.

"miner --server zec-us-west1.nanopool.org --user 19HD18H6LiKNEPt4paZ6B5RVkwV5Lw3vbp --pass z --port 6666"

What do I need to change to switch over to nicehash which converts directly to BTC.  (I have already changed my wallet to BTC).  Currently googling but not having much luck.

The way i mined nicehash previously before going to zpool was using the nicehash miner itself, just put your new BTC wallet in it
537  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners on: June 10, 2017, 08:48:52 PM
Could this program be setup to mine multiple pools that auto-exchange into btc already built into them?> like zpool and Mining hub

Also could i add additional miners? like ccminerAlexis78 and ccminerAlexis78blake seems to be the most efficient miner for the 1080ti crowd like me.. the hashrates on the same coins under the built in miners are significantly lower after playing with it some than using Alexis miner
Awesome Miner can be used with any pool. Or was it the profit switching feature in Awesome Miner that you wanted to use?

You can also add your own custom mining software. When you select the ccminer software in Awesome Miner, you can either let Awesome Miner do the automatic download, or you can specify that you instead want to use your ccminerAlexis78 software by specifying the path. If you only have a single miner you can specify this manually in the properties of the Managed Miner.

If you need to do this operation on a larger scale, you can use this feature to push custom software and configure all your miners at once:
http://www.awesomeminer.com/help/uploadsoftware.aspx

to answer your question is can i set it up so i can take advantage of the auto-exchange from whichever coin im mining to BTC, for example i currently mine zpool on skein algo on 1 rig of 2 gtx 1080ti's, my other rig i switched over to mining pool hub to compare the 2, because i have been having some earnings issues with Zpool the last few days, especially yesterday... running 2 1080tis pushing 1820Mh/s on skein, it said i managed 0.002BTC over a 23hr period, which makes absolutely no sense when i calculate the profit manually via what to mine and such it should have been around $21 usd...worth

So basically would i be using the auto-exchange feature of those pools as normal?

Additional question i had was this, for example skein on zpool only has 5 coins to mine, but on mining hub its 2 coins only.. do i set this up under each as a pool group under each pool?

And... lastly is there any dev fee for using this software, like 2% on ccminer-sp?
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: NemosMiner-v1.7.4 multi algo profit switching NVIDIA miner for MPH & ZPOOL on: June 10, 2017, 07:57:02 PM
Has anyone else ran into the Illegal GPU Memory Access errors?
I ran through all the algo's last night to setup my batch file to my mining rig, after going through all of them 1 by 1 letting them mine for 5+ minutes each for averages i found many of the algo's were giving me this error.. which kinda sucks because one of the ones i truly like to mine when profitable is Lyra2REv2 and it wouldnt work for me at all, but if i start up nicehash it runs just fine in that miner.. im curious if there is a way to add the specific miner from their program to this batch file list at the top to mine it for me when the most profitable, but on zpool

yes it will  be default intensity is to high for your cards.. add -i to you command try -i 15 and work you way up to -i 31 until you find your limit then back it off 1..  alexis78 is made for pascal 1070 so has default high intensities to increase hash-rate...

also make sure you've increase  your virtual mem

First try increasing virtual memory to 30-35gb, that solved it for me.

Thank you for this info, i will try this out to see if it fixes my problem, do you know what the default intensity is by chance?.. in regards to the virtual memory, i have already set 64000mb to 68000mb to that based on the OP recommendations

Hello,

Your script is amazing, but I'm having trouble estimating the payment in 24 hours, I've done some calculations, but I'm not sure.

Currently, my minor is on Blake2 at 14.26 GH / S
If I go to http://www.zpool.ca/api/status estimate_current => 0.00085816

0.00085816 * 14.26 = 0.012237 BTC => 35 USD per day ??

That sounds fine, my calculations are correct? Is the value of the zpool API reliable?

I think this number is to volatile to estimate your earnings...... im getting slightly higher GH than u on 2 x 1080tis... and i only made $20.84 worth of btc in the last 24 hours on Blake2....
You have to remember that 2% pool fee, and ccminer have 2% dev fee
so your 0.012237*0.96=$33.62 if the numbers were truly correct

no ccminer has no DEV fee  thats 0%

Hmm, when i was asking about this on another post on when my earnings didnt make sense, multiple people posted to the wiki showing all the ccminers had dev fees...
