2941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: October 20, 2015, 01:13:41 AM
What I meant is that you have to do some sort of work to earn Bitcoin just like you do with fiat. That includes research investment options, stay updated, etc. There are better and safer options in fiat if you ask me, stocks, bonds, fixed rates, whatever.

But if you want to use Bitcoin, there are of course valid ways, just be careful. You can't say you are safe in Bitcoin land since it's not regulated as the "real" currency word, something used both as a pro or a con. You will have to trust the exchange, app, site of your choice, etc, no one will protect you or your money. The best way is doing research on this very forum, there are still some honest and legitimate businesses.
2942  Economy / Economics / Re: What you will do if bitcoin price drops to 50$ and you have lots of bitcoin on: October 20, 2015, 12:08:08 AM
I'll complete my first full bitcoin in a second but of course and become an "official" bitcoin holder. However if such drop happens I don't think it will ever survive after that. I know it's still alive and well after the $1200 drop but that's another story.
2943  Economy / Speculation / Re: yay btc goes ~$250 ! on: October 20, 2015, 12:06:06 AM
Anything can happen really but like I said in another thread I don't see breaking the $300 resistance this year, but it will be very close. I think we all agree this was so far one of the most stable years for Bitcoin, if not THE most.
2944  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: October 20, 2015, 12:03:20 AM
Well once upon a time, banks gave you high interests for just parking your money there. I mean a great fixed rate and complete safety. That era is gone now.

I'll give you a clear a answer then. If you have a goal in mind to save for, then save for that. The rest invest it as you see fit, in a balance portfolio with low and high risks options. And leave just some months ahead of monthly salary in your checking account/cash if you prefer that (or Bitcoin maybe?)
2945  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: October 19, 2015, 05:57:41 PM
What's with all these threads about making x amount per hour or per day? Unless you scam people Bitcoin is not some magic land. If you want to get paid you have to do some kind of work. Safe investments in Bitcoin are very rare and you should have a large initial amount to start if you want to get a good return (therefore considering Bitcoin volatility and shady investment options available, you are better off using fiat).
2946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin's logo color be gold, and not orange? on: October 19, 2015, 05:40:20 PM
I agree that color or branding is completely secondary for such a disruptive technology that "sells" itself. But that's not the discussion here.
2947  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin's logo color be gold, and not orange? on: October 19, 2015, 05:25:04 PM
I don't like the approach, it's my personal opinion but I think it sends the wrong message and I'm giving you my full explanation. Design is communication, is a visual language. It's not based on "taste" like some people say. A certain color or typography communicate certain characteristics.

I think using gold is a missed opportunity, it's not only uninspired, it sends mixed signals. The only simple thing about it was the decision part, it was simple to decide, "just make it gold". Bitcoin technology is completely unique, digital currency is "bitcoin". Orange can be its color. We can discuss if it's the best one or not, blue, red, whatever, but I'm just considering only gold & orange for this discussion.
2948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Bitcoin's logo color be gold, and not orange? on: October 19, 2015, 05:02:53 PM
Well an orange color can be definitely made part of the "brand" and be easily recognizable. Making it gold or green for that matter is a lazy approach, like giving a scar to a villain, it's not only lazy it's wrong too, this is not gold nor cash. However I can see the gold color having some logic because of how mining and Bitcoin work. In my opinion a great and particular orange color (there could be thousands of variations) works or could work well.

I'm a graphic designer if that matters.
I'm not trying to be rude here, (Now please forgive me if you are offended), but...I genuinely stopped reading when you started talking about villans.

What are you even talking about?

Hehe, ok, maybe I didn't make myself clear. Using a gold color for a "currency" is lazy, is like giving a scar to a villain in terms of lazy writing. "Look he has a scar, he is bad". Same for Bitcoin, it is golden, it's like gold or related to gold. It's just lame. However if you've kept on reading I mentioned the link with mining and gold, and that's ok I guess.

To me, there's room for a Bitcoin "orange" color that you can immediately associate with, just so you associate green with cash and gold with...gold

2950  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $300 this month? on: October 19, 2015, 04:15:00 PM
I do remember it being $295 during the early summer but then tumbled. It just can't break that $300 mark that everybody is wanting.

On Bitfinex and Bitstamp it broke through 300, but fell under again pretty quickly. Breaking through resistance at 300 seems easy enough, it's finding support at 300 afterwards that seems to be the problem (fortunately we also seem to have the same "problem" at around 200, but in reverse).

Yes I agree, maybe we can see it break the $300 resistance before the end of the year but it will be a bumpy road. I don't think it won't even find support or be stable at those sort of prices ($300-400) for one more year, others are more optimistic from what I've read.
2951  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to make a living online? on: October 19, 2015, 04:12:54 PM
Yes if one doesn't have a particular skill, selling your own used stuff online as Quinn said is something many people don't even consider. We all have plenty of stuff we don't really need and eBay, Craiglist (or the local/regional equivalent) are flooded with eager buyers.
2952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will grow, if we create opportunities for people to earn it. on: October 19, 2015, 01:59:47 AM
Bitcoin should really find a niche and become the best way to send money online for that particular sector. Perhaps it would be large amounts of money without high fees or maybe the absolute currency for online betting. The problem is that as it is not regulated it's hard for big companies to adopt it, that's all there is to it.
2953  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to make a living online? on: October 19, 2015, 01:47:43 AM
I'm a graphic designer, my skills are what pay the bills really, how I do it happens to be online since it's more efficient these days. It all depends how good you are at your profession. If you are an amazing designer, you will earn a lot.

From my point of view, if you are a good designer AND developer, you can visualize and bring to life any ideas you have for an online business in a weekend with minimal expenses (other than domain/hosting). If that doesn't work that well, you can then sell the site for some profit and repeat. Those are to me the best skills you can have today in this world (plus some good business/marketing background).

Well your skills allow you to earn well online ,as you stated you can have an idea and make it happen in a weekend, but for the most as me without such skills we can have the idea and we will ask a developer to make it happen, the bad thing is when something is going well, someone copy.

I don't do much development so I can envision the whole project and then hire a developer. The problem in this approach is that it is expensive, it requires an initial investment. I was mentioning that if you somehow study and learn graphic design AND development you can achieve that and create any online business idea very quick without any sort of investment. If it doesn't work, you can sell the site for some small money. Of course if you are really good you can also just offer your services, freelancing or with a company.
2954  Economy / Economics / Re: A Resource Based Economy on: October 18, 2015, 05:56:03 PM

Read my previous post, right above your where I explained that the Universe and entropy makes is clear that we are evolving towards decentralization.

This is a fact. Some structures might evolve in between as a coincidence, but the long term tendency is decentralization in every shape or form.

So the perpetual power of the current elite is only an illusion, nobody will be absolute powerholder in the future, this can already been seen be earlier absolute monarchies vs. current pseudo democracies, the power structure is less concentrated.

And I believe with Internet we can take a 1000-2000 year evolutionary step in just 10-20 years.

We can abandon some of our animal instincts ,but not all of them, because we are animals weather you like it or not, we cant abandon our nature.

I agree with you on all points except that I think you are too optimistic for the near future, I agree the technology is there but not ourselves. The main problems we face as civilization are resources and land, the rest (food, technology, education, etc are easy to fix and provide). Religion even with its fanatics has no real power compared to 500 years ago and it will continue to lessen and be more tolerate of others. We live in a global world where english is adopted almost everywhere, if you ask me there is no need for other languages right now, we can create a more diverse culture if we all share the same language. However, land distribution and resources will always be a problem, countries and governments won't back down easily.

Huge oil reserves in the North Pole has been discovered recently and many nations are in a new cold war since they all claim a part of that territory (Russia claims more than other nations think it's legal for example). This sort of thinking can be applied to you, where do you live? Can you decentralize your property? your land? We all want to live in a nice part of the city or by the sea, how that works? The "elite" and the rich will always accommodate themselves, don't fool yourself. What's more, you and I will do it in a second, that's what life is, surviving, getting ahead in every aspect. If you think you are not like that, wait until you have children, I've never known anyone with children that didn't expect them to "do" better in life, success is measured like that for 99.9% of the people. This is a cruel world, materialistic in every aspect, without a certain amount of money or resources like shelter, water or food you are dead. And you need much more than that actually to be confortable in this age.

I still hold quite a bit DGB, but I already regret selling some in the last spike. I don't want it to drop but if it does, I'll definitely buy what I sold back and more in a second.
2956  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long did it take you to make 1 BTC? on: October 18, 2015, 05:29:32 AM
I'm still trying to get my first 1 BTC. I've bought my humble amount at $230, I expect to reach 1 BTC by next year unless the price drops a lot (hopefully not) then I'll seize the opportunity and get the rest cheap.
2957  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do I grow my btc? on: October 18, 2015, 05:24:09 AM
I see a lot of you guys suggest to investing to altcoin, but what is that mean?
Am I just have to buy the altcoin or I also have to do a trading with it?

Yes, trading basically (short or long term of course). I don't think short term really works unless you invest large sums of money. There are some fees and the exchange rates are not the best sometimes, plus you have to manage plenty of different wallets and accounts, it's just not worthy. You can try with some small sums to get your feet wet and my advise is to keep it simple. Try one or two altcoins and set some goals.

I only trust a couple of altcoins, many are just garbage and just tools for short term trading. I've seen many 500-1000% spikes, either in established coins or "shit" ones. Of course for $5-10 that's nothing, but imagine if you had invested $$$-$$$$...

Nowadays it's not as volatile or very rare to get such an spike for a known coin and I would say there's a big chance for you to lose money or hold for months and months for almost nothing. So perhaps you are better off just holding BTC hehe.
2958  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $300 this month? on: October 18, 2015, 04:56:26 AM
I'm not really worried if it drops below $200, I'll definitely buy and complete my 1 BTC hehe. Bitcoin will take off (or not) in the next upcoming years not this one.
2959  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: October 18, 2015, 04:54:32 AM
If you life on this earth, I don't think you can just use Bitcoin, you need to use both. Bitcoin is far from mainstream adoption, it may never happen. I hope Bitcoin finds a niche, be it for paying for large sums without fees instantly. But for that or something similar to happen it will need to be regulated eventually.
2960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoin was a worst decision of my life on: October 18, 2015, 04:45:34 AM
I think if you are really interested in Bitcoin just try to get 1 BTC like many of us are after. If it really works there's a great chance it will be VERY valuable. To me that's a long shot, in 5-10 years a more realistic view would be that it would be valuable around to the equivalent of today's $500-1000, and that's fine by me.

If you are wealthy enough of course you can get 10-100 BTC now, if that's something you won't really miss. The chance that Bitcoin vanishes in the next years or cost next to nothing is a real one.
