el_rlee

have u considered using fins inside the cooling loop and reducing the amount of g 1/4 openings?

Yes. To be honest I wanted to do a serpentine like channel first, with a cover and a sealing but I couldn't manage the manufacturing drawing. A work colleague helped with this one and he did it in like one hour or so...
Also the fittings cost a dime a dozen and you almost have certainty that nothing will be leaking.
1142  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: July 28, 2013, 04:43:31 AM
Is somebody selling clones of this control boards?

I would also be interested in this.. I think my control board have a problem or where does it come from when the avalon section of cgminer screen went sometimes empty after some time of hashing ?

Any ideas? I don't think it is the router because I can access it normaly but the router seems to loose contact to the controller ?
Where to look for bugs ? It is an avalon batch 2 with controller V 1.5
Tried already different firmware and another PSU

Flash your router newly, un-check the keep-settings box. Helped me with the same problem.

If I decide to use one Raspberry Pi instead of the three TP-Link routers, are there any known disadvantages? Is the clock frequency still set individually?
Also I feel that it would to my Avalons good to split them into smaller units, maybe only one modul per control board. Is somebody selling clones of this control boards?
Is it a problem if the control board is on a different power supply than the miner?
1144  Economy / Auctions / Re: [WTS] Modminer Quad FPGA - from 1 BTC, donation special! on: July 27, 2013, 11:04:50 AM
is it in working condition? did not see any info about that...

Is donation optional?

Of course fully working. You can either make the highest bid until August 1st OR be the first to make a donation, sorry if that wasn't clear.

Speed with TML is 1GHs

My Avalon has shipped without a power cord. I cannot find any cords that fit.

1152  Economy / Auctions / [WTS] Modminer Quad FPGA - from 1 BTC, donation special! on: July 21, 2013, 01:14:18 PM
For auction is one Modminer Quad as seen here https://www.modminerquad.com/index.php?title=Main_Page .

Starting price is 1BTC, minimal increment is 0.1 BTC. Article is in Shanghai, shipping at your cost. Any trusted escrow is fine with me, at buyers cost.
Auction will end 1st of August, 2013 12:00 UTC.

If anybody is willing to donate a sum > 15BTC to a charity we both agree on being worthy receiving donations I will ship the Modminer free of charge with EMS to wherever you are in the world. You must agree with me on the donation receiver first and announce the transaction before doing it.

Thanks for your attention.

1154  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Novec 7000 Project [immersive cooling] on: July 20, 2013, 02:22:12 AM
Novec 7000 is just pure nerd porn  Grin

What are you going to submerge? For the ~600Watts of heat of an Avalon the condenser set up looks a little weak. What's the concept?
Is what we are seeing is a peltier with it's hot side liquid cooled? How much power can it take if it's properly cooled? Got a link to a datasheet?

what if ambient gets over 34C ? would the whole thing explode due to pressure?

No, the container is not pressure tight. But the first little leakage will cost ya 1k$  Shocked

I have the impression the background is blurred intentionally..One can't  be certain if its filmed from Gox headquarters or this guy's workplace.
And where is Karpeles? No word from him on this issues for more than 10 days!

You call this "focus"
1157  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Mt. Gox collapses, what would be the influence on the price? on: July 17, 2013, 02:06:09 PM
Might be the last time for really cheap coins - better keep some fiat on the side!
1158  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 0.25 BTC Bounty - Show me a Mt Gox USD Withdrawal :) on: July 17, 2013, 11:32:36 AM
I'm more scared than ever.

What the holy fuck. Is that meant to be a parody?
1159  Economy / Speculation / If Mt. Gox collapses, what would be the influence on the price? on: July 16, 2013, 02:50:03 PM
Topic says it all, Mt.Gox smells mighty fishy to me. What if it turns out to be all smoke and mirrors?

My guess: Bearish in the short term for sure...

Anyone else thinking of legal actions? MtGox has now stopped their support as well, it seems.

There was a thing like support?

And: source, please?
