Did anybody else bother to remove the clear plastic?
I hope you know that it is Chinese tradition NOT to EVER remove the plastic on ANYTHING! Please honour this on you Avalons.

My question was more like: Could the tube-LED-photosemiconductor trick also work on SHA256?

Are there any estimates about his personal wealth? How much of the 200M$ increase in market cap Bitcoin has experienced in the last weeks can actually come out of his pockets?
The market cap has increased by that much, but 200m$ wasn't bought on the exchanges, just a touch over a million dollars, this guy finds that kind of money stuck down the back of his couch. Mt. Gox (USD/dwolla/SEPA) 30-day Volume (Currency) 45,090,613.51 USD source: http://www.bitcoincharts.com/markets/mtgoxUSD.html$45M is not pocket money, also not for Mr. Kim and that makes you 6 times more comfy when spending USD on BTC?

Who buys?
Old timers? Nay. Users new to BTC? Unlikely that they increased at such a rate... Silkroad users? Not much more than usually... Actually less btc because of higher value. One guy with deep pockets? hm... -> More than one entity with deep pockets and quite some balls I might add!
Whose left to sell?
Old timers? If they didn't sell already they don't really need the money and have the time and brains to wait! People which bought in at 30? I don't think you take such a risk for a 25% gain. Miners? If then only to buy ASICS I guess, which is limited in availability until now... SR Vendors? Don't sell more than SR buyers buy BTC for, that's for sure. -> Not many as the price clearly indicates
Any other explanations?

Lessons learned about financial markets can be hard. It doesn't seam like you learned such lessons already - buying in when the price is peaking on an all-time high is hardly clever. However I am holding which is also kind of "buying"...

Thailand's not so bad I hear there are job opportunities all over the world for native speakers to teach English... Why not simply let some stranger fuck your ass for money? Maybe you don't even have to leave the house, you could advertise online... Money is so easy to make!

Hi Bitcoiners, I know that SHA256 hashing is different from RSA cracking, but still the question bothers me. Would a device like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TWINKLE be somehow suitable for mining?

BFL will become a drama - wait until the units wouldn't even be profitable any more if you had them now.

Hello Bitsyncom,
I and I guess everybody else would appreciate you being brutally honest about the status of production and shipment. We are (mostly) grown ups - we can take it. Your company is in the unique position of being the only ASIC supplier available at the moment. You got nothing to loose except trust.
Thank you.

also - didn't you receive the email?
"Clear for take off, abide a week late.
Deadline has arrived so an update is in order, earlier this week the shipping problem is more or less solved and we are gearing up to dispatch the units, due to the week of delay from before compounded with lingering issues with the recovery from CNY the outlook for shipping time-frames are the following:
Starting from next Monday, units will be en route to their country of destination and tracking numbers will follow maybe 2~3 days after (it is at this point onward which you can expect an email from us with the tracking information), we expect this process to continue to the 10th of March until all the units have been shipped out, if all is well people will get their units in-hand in the middle of March.
Trade-In Situation After much thought, we believe we have figured out the best system for Trade-Ins that will allow people to continue to mine with their FPGA as long as possible yet still able to get their ASIC on the second batch on time. The process will work as follows:
A week before batch #2 is ready to ship, we will make an announcement to those who wish to trade-in their last generation units to sent in their units, once we receive the units a custom order will be made for you to pay the difference depending on what you have trade-in, remember 1 trade-in discount/coupon is allowed per 1 Avalon unit. For clarification the shipping priority is as such:
Sorted from Highest to Lowest.
Developers - e.g. bitcoin core dev and other bitcoin contributor we feel deserve this treatment. Trade-Ins/Old Customers - your unit will ship soon as we receive the FPGA and you've paid the difference. Regular Batch #2 Customers - Unfortunately you are not special. Other Fun News This scheduled newsletter had failed because we surpassed the free 2000 MailChimp quota and manual action was required. Christmas comes early this year. The present we got was the BFL March 1st bet earnings. Looking back, it was not terribly surprising that failure and delay comes from the only thing not taken cared in-house, Shipping. Lessons learned. Batch #2 process will have improvements, minor design adjustments and other goodies."
