open the cover, connect a USB cable to the controller board and mine with a computer directly
1226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon Water Cooling on: June 18, 2013, 11:35:06 PM
I was thinking about fixing the thermo probe on the board instead of the heatsink. Maybe I design myself some sheet metal bracket to directly clamp it on a chip over two of the M3 threads.

Also I haven't yet designed the cabinet I want to put in the whole setup. it would be nice if it where air tight and insulated so I can run temperatures below condensing point... that's a little tricky.

Thanks for the nice replies!

I laugh at all the sheep who are actually basing their decisions on a Bitcoin 2011 price history comparison. I hope each and every one of them lose badly.

Hate you have inside you.
To the dark side it leads.

how does one "connect" these to ones computer?
You need an Avalon FPGA controller board.

Hi,

I don't know exactly what's the issue or reason to open this thread - but I can vouch for successful business I did with rudrigorc2 in the past. Bought a trade-in worthy miner at a very fair price.
Rudrigorc2 turned out to be reliable and trustworthy. Just my 2cents.

The market is only pushed down, since all the new asic miners and asic selling companies need to turn a serious amount of bitcoin into fiat in order to recoup part of their investment. Once they have recouped enough of their investment in fiat, the downward pressure will be relieved.

If there was not this strong resistence in the market keeping the value above 100 USD, then the value would have already been a lot lower.

I truly think there is some truth amongst this lines. But difficulty going up like 20% every two weeks will teach miners!

Thanks el_rlee! So P2 is unused, doesn't even have a header soldered to it.

I see you still have your F1 fuse on, the one that powers the USB-A connector. You should remove that. Get a cutter, and cut it in the middle.

I already took out my F1 Fuse, this picture is from the wiki - https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon

No. It freaking jumps.

www.bitcoincharts.com gives you data for instance.

Hello Avalon mining system users, I need a little help. On the Control Unit card, Version 1.5, there is a P2 header with 6 pins, near the JTAG1 and P3 headers. I know that the P3 header is for the thermal transistor that measures the temperature of one of the heat sinks. However, I don't know what the P2 header is for. Is there anything plugged onto this P2 header? Or are there jumpers? A picture of your Control Unit with the P2 header clearly showing would be a big help.

Thanks for your reply.
Temperature is measured on two of the heat sinks. Cgminer shows 3 temperatures, I guess the third one is on the control unit itself. Interesting is the numbering of the fans with number one being in the middle IIRC...

I am not near my miners, but P2 is either the LED's on the front of the housing, or if they are connected somewhere else, empty.

Many people want to get rich, you know?
It's not a bad idea for Bitcoin's adoption to make people rich. The whole hyper-deflationary thing built in is only made to reward the early adopters and I still think you are pretty much an early adopter getting in now.
1240  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-06-12 Kenya Primed for Wide-Scale Bitcoin Adoption on: June 16, 2013, 03:58:50 AM
Is there any usable mobile wallet at the moment?

http://bitcoincard.org/ seams ambitious but unlikely to be available for wide scale use soon. I also didn't find much at the Kipochi website.
Both companies supposedly showed the status of their hardware at Bitcoin 2013... Can somebody report?

Are any other mobile wallet projects out there? I am sure for adoption in Kenya it's not a must to be 1.3mm slim...
