I wonder why there is no HUGE premium (no premium at all actually) on Bitcoins in China though? Arbitrageurs must work overhours.
That's not the explanation. You can't easily change CNY to other currencies. Before the 260 Crash the Chinese market was trading 10-15% higher constantly, that's the cost if you need to import your BTC. Don't ask me what's going on now - but I can ensure you, the Chinese also don't know. Some say rich real-estate people sell some apartments to get into BTC now... Stop worrying, start to love the Chinese.

what is Midas?
I guess it has to do with Greek mythology? Or drama? Or tragedy? So many Greek words that fit Mt.Gox. Edit: Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MidasGuess what, a story that ended badly for persons in power because of too much greed

also please note that the whole lot of Cointerra threads (4 at last count) have disappeared from the front page of the Custom Hardware section.
they haven't posted a thing in 2 wks. i think something is wrong.
they also don't answer questions in their own forum ' Thanks for that, probably wouldve wasted a whole $6000 - $12000 otherwise!! I checked on this "Dr. Timo Hanke" guy - and he is definitely a legit German university professor specialized in discrete mathematics and cryptography. Can't say for the rest of the team, but there is still a good chance that the will deliver what the promised when the promised. I am still myself thinking of ordering from them...

Some Silk Road users sold perfectly legal items, like art and books. I wonder if any of the legitimate users will be asking the FBI for their coins back?
They could have used more legal sites, such as Bitmit, or the forum Marketplace. No. No. Legal means legal. If I sell a hot dog on the same corner as a drug dealer, are my profits subject to confiscation? Right, and the SR was a busy street corner. But no reason to denigrate honest, tax paying companies. They very support of our society.

interesting fact: 04/2012 until 09/2012: This was the period after the crash after the previous bubble. Number of new members was stable BUT number of posts was trending higher and... The price of BTC doubled slowly! Maybe we are in this fase again? Maybe... we will hit 250 USD in 5 months (february 2014), followed by a new bubble perhaps? Bubble, bubble, bubble ♪♫♬

This auction ends on wednesday 9th of october at 12:00 AM forum time.
Excuse my ignorance, but I absolutely can not understand this 12hr clock. Is 12:00 AM noon or midnight? midnight. is there a minimum? I'll bid 45 if you will sell it for 45 btc. also, is there escrow? Midnight. Correct. Has been asked and clarified.

You change the time by almost twelve hours on page three without noticing anybody? No. 12 am is a very exact definition.

This auction ends on wednesday 9th of october at 12:00 AM forum time. All non-winning bids are ofc returned.
Against apparently common believe posting wrong counters and being confused does not change the rules. Auction is over. Please educate yourselfs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/12-hour_clock

IMHO bitcointalk.org, the bitcoin foundation, r/bitcoin, and all other highly frequented websites must warn users about the status of Mt.Gox.
MagicalTux is a highly dishonest person.

No TA
With Silk Road down Bitcoin now has now no practical use. Buying stuff over Bitpay has no practical advantage over other methods and it's volume is negligible if you exclude ASIC sales. Bitcoin is now 99% concerned with itself, that is either mining or investing, any sensible individual gonna look for a exit in the following months. Then you true believers will be finally on your own. It's now a pure financial bubble.
Have fun!
You still have some stock from "the Road", ha?

Anyone more than me that took the hassle of signing up at tradehill? avalon, what a joke, b3 4 90GH units for 16btc, and avalon mini 2 board (oc'd to 375mhz) 60GH unit 9btc. Luckily , they have hundreds of units. so far i can only see one mini that has the 9btc bid. If they put up some reasonable prices ok..
As long as the units are on hand that's not too bad. ButterFly 60GH units that people have on hand generally go bout 2k to 2.5k or about 14BTC here in Toronto, ON, Canada. If they aren't on hand units and you have to wait 8 months to a year to receive them then yes your right! They are all in stock on hand. to be shipped 24hrs after auction end on the 10th of october. but overpriced imo.. Auctions have a paradox. Items that have a lower starting bid fetch higher prices. He started too high. He should have started with no minimum bid. I guess not many people went through the trouble of sending their ID's to get ripped off...

Punin, make a new thread, 100% self moderated. remove all trolling and off topic issues. Seems to be the only way these days..
How do I do that? Not any more this time preferably, it will make the whole thing even much more confusing. Please clarify the open questions instead. Thank you.
