The article is not good. First it was talking about 1 000 000 btc instead of US$. Also robbery ("raub") would involve violence and guns.
1542  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 08, 2012, 11:26:53 AM
I'm not leaving anywhere

so there are two other options:

1) You pay out in full
2) You win the bet (Pirate pays everybody)

3) I lose the bet and stick around just because I'm a boss
4) I win the bet and give the money back because I'm a boss
5) Pirate is in my basement

If you are still in a betting mood my money is on 3. I want some escrow though...

Not a safe bet. He might get banned for this.

seams the main risk factor...

As of today we are taking pre-orders for shipment in November/December
If for some reason we cannot ship on time we will certainly offer full refunds to those who request them.

cards arrived. super fast.

how does it work when I transfer EUR to this IBAN? I guess it gets converted to PLN using a real rip-off exchange rate?

Thanks for your swift reply, especially considering it's Saturday.
Regarding the discount I believe it was still on your website at the date I ordered, please double check that.
This lets me feel tricked at the moment... Did you give notice here on the forum somewhere? Of course I didn't deem it necessary to make a hard copy of your site, I'm a trusting guy basically.

Hi, I ordered one modminer quad on the 8th of August, I didn't receive a shipment notice so far.
Also I have something in mind that you guaranteed a 4 weeks maximum incl. shipment or otherwise I am entitled for a 100$ discount? How does that work?
I payed with credit card, I never made a charge back so far but I guess it will get more and more difficult after a certain time, so I get a little nervous here.
Also your communications - I asked twice for the measurement of the screw holes to build myself a housing, no answer.
I also asked if you use any of the 5V on the molex connector because I am thinking of another more efficient 12V only power supply.

My order number is 181, please inform me of

*ETA
*discount
*screw hole measurement / 5V of the molex

Thank you

I am sorry if I did not email you back I had forwarded your email to my hardware guy so he could answer your specific technical questions but your email must of gotten lost in the shuffle some place, usually my email responses are very quick.

Your order will be shipping after I receive this next production run on 09/06

as far as the discount I am sorry but we discontinued that in the beginning of July

I will get your technical questions answered right away.

thank you for your business

-Tom

1550  Economy / Speculation / Re: damn guys, where's our single-digit drop? on: August 30, 2012, 06:09:44 PM
forget pirate in the speculation, I don't believe he holds much BTC anymore. if you measure the value of bitcoin by the community each post in this forum would equal roughly a 100 $

Matthew, do you still believe in winning the bet?
1553  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Anonymous Visa and Mastercard EUR USD PLN Best prices ! Check it out ! 2 BTC !!! on: August 30, 2012, 07:48:00 AM
I am interested - how many more are available for that 2btc price?
1554  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Angebliche Betrugsfälle bei Bitcoin.de? on: August 28, 2012, 08:00:11 PM

1556  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How could Pirate fuck your brains so well that even now many believe in him? on: August 27, 2012, 10:26:24 PM
So what going on right now? People seams just started a few days ago to seriously search for an ID?
Nobody so far stated legal action taken?
TYGRR.BOND-P ask is down to 0.32 and 24h volume is up to 700, spirits are quite a bit lower than a couple of days ago.
Still many people like to discuss if the interest gets payed up to the hour or minute when he finally pays out.
The mind of the more heavily invested people is still in an interesting condition. If you take the single sell orders > 500pc of TYGRR.BOND-P on GLBSE:

Code:
1200 a 0.75
807  a 1
500  a 1.045
1550 a 1.067999
800  a 1.068
1557  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How could Pirate fuck your brains so well that even now many believe in him? on: August 26, 2012, 08:46:18 PM
We would notice if the 51% is happening I guess. Is that the most probable scenario for pirate paying back his debt?
Any reason on what the waiting is good for? I guess he is just thorough checking his spreadsheet over and over again?

I will take dollar denominated bets in Gox USD that pirate repays within 10 days using a willing trusted and reputable escrow only (someone like Vladimir, even though he is of a different opinion).  You win if Pirate does not repay within 10 days.  PM if interested and we can set it up and determine odds.

if you agree that both parties come up with the funds up front I would love to get in a bet with you. I guess many regret of not betting Matthew for more money.
Which sum were you thinking about?

Edit: Just to make sure you don't blame me of 'insider knowledge' later I'll share a secret with you: The ponzi already collapsed
1558  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How could Pirate fuck your brains so well that even now many believe in him? on: August 26, 2012, 08:14:26 PM
Aliens... with extraterrestrial quantum computers! I heard they sell them for 500kBTC!

You can do an asic design for considerably less than 500K btc and all it takes is 10 year old cmos technology. No aliens needed.

hm...

BTC owed 500,000
Interest per day BTC 5000
Generated BTC per day 6x24x50 = 7200

So he would only need to generate 69% of all Bitcoins to make good for the interest, without paying back anything of the debt.
1559  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How could Pirate fuck your brains so well that even now many believe in him? on: August 26, 2012, 07:46:49 PM
hehehehe..

These are the only facts I need to hear to make a sane educated guess as to the outcome...

Simple math will answer this one easily...   Smiley

Id does make a very important implicit assumption; that BTC value will remain more or less stable. If Prirate's big secret is that he hacked sha256 or has been mining a forked chain on asics for half a year, that assumption might be very wrong.
