261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: who controls the bitcoin price? on: January 26, 2021, 04:27:47 AM
I found this article is almost complete about who controls bitcoin.
  • who control the bitcoin development
  • who control the bitcoin blockchain
  • who control the bitcoin supply
  • who control the bitcoin price

262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency on: January 26, 2021, 03:31:30 AM
Can Bitcoin ever be use as other country currency and it will still maintain it decentralized digital currency?

According to the definition of National Currency that I found on the Internet, Bitcoin can be a national currency I think.
it will remain decentralized, but it will be regulated by the central bank as well.
as long as the authority has more power to control it, I think they will accept bitcoin as a currency.
so, what's the point of having bitcoin then?

"A national currency is a currency issued by the monetary authority or central bank of a country. It is the medium through which the goods or services are purchased/sold within an economy. Currency can be anything that represents value; however, paper notes, coins, and digital cash are the most acceptable modern forms."

263  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Bitcoin Help The Poor on: January 25, 2021, 05:07:59 PM
People ask why they should buy and support bitcoin.

One good reason.

Bitcoin helps the poor.   Grin

#1  BTC provides banking services to the unbanked  Millions around the world who cannot qualify for a bank account use BTC to conduct business and make electronic transactions.

#2  BTC allows immigrants to send money to families back home  Immigrants from cuba, the middle east and other nations who travel to the USA, europe or asia. Use BTC to send funds to their families back home.

#3  BTC empowers nations with troubled economies like africa, the philippines and venezuela  It provides a means of income to help stabilize dwindling economies like venezuela's. Provides options and opportunities to those in africa and the philippines.

There are other examples but I think people might get the gist of this without them.

Those who wish to help the poor can donate money to charities or propose government assistance. Bitcoin may yet be another method.

please don't count me as a hater, but..

#1 why those who you called poor people not choosing a centralized digital wallet? no bank account needed. most of the digital wallet services in my country offer zero-fee, and it surely faster than a crypto transaction. it just needs a smartphone with a valid phone number.
I assume those people above own a smartphone too because bitcoin needs at least a device to do a complete transaction.

#2 you need to state the criteria of poor people you mention above, because I am thinking of which poor people have family abroad or travel to other countries.

#3 no idea. but how?

and..

# with those points above, it's more like bitcoin as a currency, not an asset. in terms of currency, it means it will be used for transactions. with the high fee problem, do you think it's a good choice for poor people. Also, I believe poor people's first problem is to survive, not about privacy.

264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 25, 2021, 04:29:17 PM
It would be nice if Manutd exit the Fa cup and focus more on the EPL title at hand at this point you play lesser games and more rest, that was the same strategy Klopp used last season. $30 on Liverpool to qualify and no going back it's a good bet which I'm very much certain. Grin

I got your point because I am thinking of the same thing.
now they will be busy with 3 competitions, EPL, FA Cup, and UEFA Europa League.
I wish they can win at least 1.
United usually play better in the second half of the season.

Manchester City are going to play an away game against West Brom tomorrow night. De Bruyne won't be able to play because of an injury. M. City are the 2nd with 38 points and West Brom are the second last with 11 points. M. City haven't got a loss for 10 matches in the league (8W 2D). West Brom got only 2 wins in 19 matches. I think we will see another win for M. City here.

The time comes, City will take over the first position from United Sad
West Brom should learn from Burnley for tomorrow's match.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: January 2021 — share your gambling experiences on: January 25, 2021, 04:07:10 PM
How has 2021 started for me?
well, I will answer it not as a gambler but as an affiliate partner of a gambling website.
it seems like it started badly. the stats show me that my referral not that active compared to other periods.
I am 70% sure that those stats reflect what happens in the gambling market in general.
it could be affected by the current uncertain situation.
266  Economy / Economics / Re: What profit has brought you to bitcoin? on: January 25, 2021, 03:08:16 PM
a scam ponzi-schemed-money-game brought me to bitcoin. a few days ago I checked on my blockchain.info wallet and I found that my first BTC transaction was in October 2015. I remember that I still bought BTC P2P on some random website at that time Grin
Since then I keep learning and read more about crypto. I made a website about crypto, I attend several crypto events, and more.
Oh, I was on a Blockchain Summit event when PundiX released the xPhone there. I met one of the BTT moderators there  Grin
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin anonymous? on: January 25, 2021, 06:32:16 AM
based on my little knowledge,
anonymous = no information at all about the subject.
pseudonymous = the subject used alternative identity (re-identified).
CMIIW.

but is it mean we are pseudonymous to people we don't know?
for example, we are pseudonymous to strangers that we saw on the street?

268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper money vs Digital currency on: January 24, 2021, 05:02:51 PM
I have a different perspective about paper money vs digital money.
Digital money will makes you spend more money.
https://www.fool.com/the-ascent/banks/articles/mobile-wallet-causes-more-spending/
It happen on most people, or at least me.
It always be a good and bad side, depend on how and on which situation you see it.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: January 24, 2021, 04:48:28 PM
Starting eleven already announced for united and liverpool for the FA Cup match tonight.
Technically not much changes for both side, except who will be played first.
United has Bruno on the bench, meanwhile liverpool has Mane and Shaqiri on the bench.
I believe the second half will be the real fight.
270  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best Youtube Channel for Bitcoin price and prediction on: January 24, 2021, 03:40:15 PM
I have subscribed to many crypto youtubers, and my favorite is Coin Bureu.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqK_GSMbpiV8spgD3ZGloSw
However, please note that people have their own mission. Don’t take any advise seriously when it comes from youtube.
Take all of that as an EDUTAINMENT or just a rough references.
271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone else still regret not buying Bitcoin in 2011? on: January 23, 2021, 06:19:39 PM
I personally regret my decision to not read more about bitcoin in 2012.
I saw it on a forum where I hang out almost every day to talk about online business.
the first time I read about it, I thought it was a new kind of MLM, so I decided to not read it again.
1 year later, more thread about bitcoin on that forum. however, the price is already high at that moment.
again, I thought 1 BTC is the smallest unit, and I have no chance to get a whole 1 BTC.
I think those misleading information still often encounter these days.
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dont stay in crypto too long on: January 23, 2021, 05:19:29 PM
crypto needs to be regulated for better adoption.
by regulated, I mean a clear regulation that gives both sides (government and crypto holders) a win-win solution.
I believe SEC or government in every country wants to protect more people who have a chance to get trapped with misleading information regarding crypto that labeled as a high-risk high-return asset.

despite the long run and high price, I still see many people skeptical about bitcoin. usually, they called it a monkey business.
"Monkey won't understand bitcoin", is my best answer to that statement so far  Grin

A lot of passing errors. Lack of attempts but United more dangerous when they reach the final third.
It's enough to see United secured 1 point at Anfield.

the most competitive table that I've ever seen.

Duo Manchester back on track. City is on fire.
