Anker's probably like, "Why the sudden rush in worldwide hub orders?"  Haha!!

lol  Cheesy

someone should tell them before they ramp up production Wink

...or maybe... they'd just slap BTC COMPATIBLE on the box!
1562  Economy / Goods / [WTS] hand-printed bitcoin logo t-shirt on: June 03, 2013, 05:28:24 PM
Printed by hand on 100% cotton shirts with professional-quality inks and equipment. This isn't some shitty heat-press transfer or a blurry inkjet print. $20 or the current equivalent in BTC.

I print these shirts myself, and I take pride in what I do.

Shipping within Canada is $4, USA is $6, International is $8.

I ship out orders the day after I receive payment.

Apologies for the blurry photo; the lighting was poor and we had to do a long exposure in order to get the orange to look right Smiley

EDIT: I also offer hefty bulk discounts, so PM me if you want to order several of these shirts, or if you'd like me to print a design of your own choosing.

Wasn't there another person here on group 3 who wanted the same? can't remember...

there are no other posts indicating this in threads 1, 2, or 3. at least, not since #4 was announced.

...i'm waiting for a pot to boil Wink
1566  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter and Raspberry Pi on: June 03, 2013, 12:53:57 PM
I'm using Rosewill 10-port powered hubs.  They seem to have no problem powering 6 or 7 sticks (7 on 2 of them, 6 + the Pi on another).

i've got this Rosewill hub on the way... good to know you've got yours to work!

http://www.amazon.com/Rosewill-10-Port-High-Speed-RHB-520/dp/B007ZSKJV0

it's a 3.5A, so i think 7 erupters would be a hard limit Smiley

1568  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 02, 2013, 03:28:02 PM
I like this post.. very clear perspective!

don't get me started on how everyone dumping their GPUs at the same time is going to affect the resale value.  Wink
1569  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 02, 2013, 03:04:56 PM
If income is limited by device lifetime or user patience, (say ~ four years) then with increasing difficulty an ROI may never be reached.

just thinking out loud here...

when ASICS increase the network hash rate enough, GPUs will stop earning enough money to recoup electricity costs. when that happens, GPUs will start dropping off the network in droves, causing difficulty to either drop, or grow more slowly.

i wonder what's the total hashing power of all the GPUs on the network right now?

AM as a mining company doesn't seem to want a bigger % of the network than they already have, so you can ignore their effect on the hash rate and just focus on everybody else.
1570  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB (running at a Mac) on: June 02, 2013, 04:11:40 AM
Macs are hard to configure for mining

i'm only using my mac until my 2nd raspberry pi shows up... now that should be fun  Cheesy
1571  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Block Erupter USB (running at a Mac) on: June 02, 2013, 01:29:25 AM
What a waste of time and ressources. I will never understand "the mac way".

macs are for people who like using computers but dislike having to tinker with computer hardware.

similarly, usb erupters are for people who like bitcoin but don't have a spare room in their home for big aluminum frames full of GPUs and huge noisy fans and PSUs.

not surprisingly, some mac owners have ordered usb erupters.  Wink
1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: The official MacMiner thread on: June 02, 2013, 01:09:04 AM
1.1.1 for 10.8 released with important bug fixes and support for block erupter usb miners

i'm running 10.7.5 with a few usb erupters on the way... is there a version of 1.1.1 available for 10.7?

EDIT: nevermind, i'm running 10.8.3!
1573  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Announces Bulk Chip Sales on: June 02, 2013, 12:10:00 AM
Buy chips now and maybe we will tell you how to implement them next year.

imagine what the reference designs look like...
1574  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs Announces Bulk Chip Sales on: June 02, 2013, 12:09:30 AM
i chuckled at this as well. i guess if they convert all the pre-orders to chip sales, they won't need to worry about fixing problems with their boards  Wink

i may be in for 5, will know more soon.

it would be cool to cut this one off at 50 for a quick turnaround!
1576  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: USB Block Erupter on a Mac? Anybody got it working? on: June 01, 2013, 11:16:15 PM
Anybody get these mining on a Mac yet?  How is it done?

i'm still waiting on my miners, but you can install an older version of cgminer via homebrew. instructions here:

http://blog.nwoolls.com/2013/04/24/bitcoin-mining-on-mac-os-x-cgminer-bfgminer/

not sure if upgrading to the latest version is possible, or if someone has to package a special brew release.

Just finished updating after napping... had a horrible fiasco with a forum user in the early morning which really stole a good 3 hrs of my time... but anyway, 3 orders remain of which 1 should be picked up tomorrow, hopefully I will hear back from the second and the third one is just waiting for FedEx drop off for next day.

all but one mailed out within 24 hours. i was watching another group buy thread where the organizer took over a week  Roll Eyes
1578  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [CLOSED] 10 USB Miners available from Group 1 purchase on: June 01, 2013, 04:09:47 PM
Interesting...  I too had a question about signing a message, and canary was prompt and concise with their response, and we both got the information we each needed from the other.  3 or 4 pm's total, all kind and to the point.

so far, canary has a +1 in my book.

+1 here too. he's been super responsive, both in responding to PMs and in shipping orders.
1579  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: USA/Canada [Group Buy #1 193/50] ASICMiner Erupter USB 2.03496 each @ 5 units on: June 01, 2013, 05:47:50 AM
Report:
I got about half the orders out today, some via FedEx, the rest via USPS.

I've got the others that are going USPS addressed and ready to ship out tomorrow morning.

"trackin # sent" actually means the package is on it's way to you.

Will finish tomorrow morning.

amazing! very professional and quick, i think we all picked a good group buy Smiley
1580  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer, Hubs "oh my"! on: June 01, 2013, 12:47:19 AM
i ordered this 10-port, 3.5A hub: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182257

should be good enough to power my 5 miners (~2.5A).

i've heard reports of people having success using Rosewill hubs with the Raspberry Pi, so I'll be giving that a try with MinePeon as well.
