i've been on the fence about buying casascius coins for months, excited to finally get my hands on some Smiley

regarding handling/packaging, i've seen some other resellers use cotton gloves. i haven't yet decided if i'll be getting cases for these, but it would be nice to receive them unblemished in case i decide to do so. i'd hate to think what fingerprint removal would do to the holograms!
1463  Economy / Securities / Re: Why are people buying asic mining shares? are they insane? on: June 15, 2013, 05:38:00 PM
Yeah well, people like to belong in a crowd more than anything else. A few hundred bucks is a small price to pay.

Pretty early in the day to be drinking.

That said, I can't help but feel that BTC3 shares should come with a free pair of fireproof gloves.

1465  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Asic USB Miner MH/s poll on: June 15, 2013, 03:30:17 PM
With a fan on mine, they are averaging ~354MH/s each.  It does fluctuate quite a bit, but that is the average.

My BTCGuild estimated speed is 1,760.94 MH/s for 5 units, which works out to ~352MH/s each. I've also got a fan on mine.
1466  Economy / Goods / Re: [28/24] Grilled Cat Identity silkscreened t-shirts! $10+S&H on: June 15, 2013, 02:49:35 PM
I've just sent the rebates to everyone who has said their change address is OK. Everyone else, please check your PMs and let me know where you'd like to receive yours!
1467  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 15, 2013, 12:43:21 PM
Havelock breached BTC3 while I was asleeep, then went back down.  But the line has technically been crossed. Smiley

I was pleased to learn that I had sold some units while I slept. They hit a high of BTC0.03245 Cheesy

1469  Economy / Goods / Re: [26/24] Grilled Cat Identity silkscreened t-shirts! $10+S&H on: June 14, 2013, 08:10:51 PM
Sizing update:

After I print the outstanding orders, I will be sold out of Mens XL and XXL shirts. I still have 10 Small, 6 Medium, and 2 Large, as well as a ton of women's sizes.

I'll keep this buy open until Wednesday, June 19, but we won't be able to get more black shirts in until late next week, so I'm afraid that's it for the XL and XXL sizes. Congratulations, they're now collector's items Wink

There really are a lot of different definitions for the word "game". Maybe we should be thinking more along these lines:

Hmm. Would this cover shipping to Canada, or just within the US?
Yes, this covers Canada.

Great! 25 @ 0.9

Should have saved up my quesions...  I hate back-to-back posts. Roll Eyes

Is there any discount for bulk bids? Say, 25 coins?

1475  Economy / Securities / Re: Why are people buying asic mining shares? are they insane? on: June 14, 2013, 03:44:12 PM
1) 2.5 BTC per share -> 0.036 weekly dividend = 0.145 btc a month = 17 month breakeven

what is the point? the return on those are terrible

 Roll Eyes

Canada Savings Bonds: 1% return per year
High-interest savings account: 2-3% per year
Average stock portfolio: 9% return per year
ASICM shares: 60% return per year (@ BTC3)

what you seem to be missing here is the fact that you can sell your shares.

it's not a "17 month breakeven", it's DOUBLING YOUR INVESTMENT IN 17 MONTHS.

at the end of that 17 months, you have earned BTC2.5 in dividends, and you also have a share that's hopefully worth BTC2.5 or more.

only on bitcointalk will you find someone who says a stock with a 60% return is a terrible deal. i wonder what qualifies as a good deal?

Also, why is anyone selling shares under 3BTC? i just can't grasp it.

Because they watched BTC fall from $290 to $100 several weeks ago, and don't want to get caught holding the bag again.

BTC/USD has never been that high, it was $256, for a moment, 2 months ago.

Consider my statement suitably modified. People are selling because they think the price will fall.

1478  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: June 14, 2013, 01:14:06 PM
If people can afford 30BTC fee to open an mpex account, they can afford a 1BTC fee to push assets to it. I wouldn't call that 'insane'.

+1! havelock is great, nothing but good experiences with them. deposits show up after only 1 confirmation, no buying fees and minimal selling fees.

i accidentally sold 250 ASICM shares in the middle of the night because of an ancient ask that i'd forgotten about, and the fee was equivalent to the price of 1 share. not too shabs.
1479  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 14, 2013, 01:05:31 PM
The blades are temporarily out of stock.

Please wait till late June to early July for newer blades with improved design and better price.

emphasis mine Smiley
