1041  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins on: November 18, 2013, 05:42:11 PM
I can't see any prices in BTC until I get to the "payment" option in the checkout.

In the absence of BTC-denominated listings, a price ticker would at least let customers manually calculate their total without having to fill out their billing/shipping info and leave an unpaid transaction hanging around in your DB Smiley

Could somebody please fix these text box margins? It's very minor but has been like this for a long time and stares at me every time I order.

I'm using Chrome:

What version, what OS? I use Chrome and don't see 'em.
1043  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Rarest sub-500 BTC Casascius coin for sale! Mintage of only 45 on: November 17, 2013, 11:25:13 PM
I have finally obtained a new Adobe PDF signing key (last one was expired), so I have resent a new signed certification to nubbins including signed PDF as well as PGP.

Hey, thanks, Mike!

I think chains of custody are going to be really valuable in the future (talking long-term here, 5-10 years or more from now), and I appreciate the time you've taken to provide them.
1044  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Rarest sub-500 BTC Casascius coin for sale! Mintage of only 45 on: November 17, 2013, 09:45:34 PM
what's the market value of a series 1 25BTC piece?

That's a good question.  The error coin thread lists 30 as the highest known sale price, but I'm not sure!
1045  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Rarest sub-500 BTC Casascius coin for sale! Mintage of only 45 on: November 17, 2013, 07:43:11 PM
Update: Here's a couple of photos of one of the coins, so you can clearly see the Series 2 hologram. This specific coin has been sold; the one for sale right now has a different address.

1046  Economy / Collectibles / Rarest sub-500 BTC Casascius coin for sale! Mintage of only 45 on: November 17, 2013, 07:38:42 PM
I'm selling a super rare Casascius coin: A Series-2 0.5 BTC Silver.

While there are many 0.5 BTC silver coins in existence, almost all of them feature the Series 3 hologram. This coin is unique in that it features a Series 2 hologram. Only 45 of these coins exist, which I believe is the lowest mintage of any coin/sticker combo aside from the 500+ BTC coins.

This coin comes with a PGP-signed chain of custody: I'll provide the buyer with a PGP-signed document from Mike Caldwell stating that I'm the original owner of the coin, and I'll also provide my own PGP-signed document, using the same fingerprint, stating that I've transferred ownership of the coin from me to you. I'll add your PGP fingerprint to my message, in case you'd like to sell this coin later on. Years from now, a chain of custody will be crucial in discerning real coins from fakes; this is a great opportunity to cover your bases.

Pictures of the coin can be provided to serious buyers. The coin is currently in an airtite case in a safety deposit box.

Asking price 10 BTC.

Just so everyone's clear, the hi-res pic is NOT the one on auction here.

That picture is from this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=315966.0

I was momentarily confused after confusing OP and austin.

I can also digitally sign PDF, which Adobe Acrobat will recognize and validate without any hassle to the user.  May come in handy.  Though it's a paid hardware signing module that is not really that suitable for signing batches of documents in bulk, it remains an option for one-off requests.

I'm not too familiar with PDF signing, but that sounds like it would be more accessible to non-technical people. Would it be too much of a reach to generate a PGP-signed message and have that placed into a signed PDF?

I'd be more than happy with one signed document per roll, listing the coins contained therein. I can envision silkscreening some nice certificates of authenticity with the PGP-signed messages, reminiscent of old 19th century bearer bonds Cheesy

Given that the final count of 0.5s with series 2 holograms is apparently only 45(!), I'm quite eager to get the "stamp of approval" on them!

I could secondarily PGP-sign the entire (Adobe-signed) PDF file as a binary (creating a separate signature file that GPG recognizes)

Signing PDFs also allows for easy signing of the embedded photos.  I have scanned all of the silver coins and most of the recent brass coins.

Also, just keeping this on the radar:

Hi Mike,

No doubt you're busy these days -- can we get an estimate as to when you'll have the time to provide signed docs?

I'd love to have my personal PGP fingerprint included in the message as well, as this would help create a chain of custody for the coins.

Yeah, I still have it on the radar.  We're gettin' there.

Any update on this?

I'm closer.  Sorry it's taken so long.  Am currently doing one-offs upon request as well.

Hi Mike,

As of today, a full three months has passed since you made the offer to provide signed docs. I'd like to ask again if there's any update on this.

I paid you 55 BTC for two rolls of coins back in July. That was close to six thousand dollars at the time of purchase, or over sixteen thousand dollars at today's exchange rate. I'm not asking for a lot here, and given the fact that I've personally enriched you to the tune of several thousand dollars, I'm both upset and amazed that I've had to pester you so many times already to do this.

You've lost me as a paying customer; this can only be described as a complete failure of customer service. Hopefully I'm the exception and others have gotten better treatment so far.

Perhaps you could take some time out of your day to either provide me with the promised documents, or at least give me a definite time frame in which they'll be delivered? I can provide you with my PGP fingerprint via email or PM.

i'd prefer black if that's possible. (olive green and brown not my favourite colours to be honest)

Thanks! Added you to the OP.

(olive green and brown not my favourite colours to be honest)
I'd rather have that than blue Wink
well everyone has his personal taste

The brown is like a milk chocolate, it's nice. The green is more of a drab/army green than true olive green. Don't knock the sky blue, though, you'd be surprised how nice it looks Wink

We're sure getting our mileage out of that clipart Wink

Add me to the total for 1. I may update this post later as I might be in for 2. (Shipping to Canada, Medium)

I will send transaction once I've figured out if I am in for 1 or 2.

Great! I'll add you to the list once you confirm.

You're using a dynamic price but since the exchange rate is not that stable I added a bit extra coins.
Black would be great Smiley

Thanks! OP has been updated.

OP, it might be helpful to know where you or your customers are based.
1060  Economy / Services / Re: Selling prints for shirts, mugs and other merchandise - Original illustrations on: October 25, 2013, 12:51:50 AM
Hey, maybe we could partner up on some work. I've had a bit of success with the group-buy approach, where people pre-order and the shirts get printed once we reach the minimum threshold (I've been aiming for a threshold of around a dozen so far). I can get my hands on some really nice organic cotton tees which might work well with fancy designs like these.
