1061  Economy / Services / Re: Anyone do custom t-shirts? on: October 25, 2013, 12:47:40 AM
I do this sort of thing as well, based out of eastern Canada.

Just opened my third t-shirt group buy here on the forums: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317651.0

I also silkscreen things on 100% cotton archival-quality paper, if you're interested in custom paper wallets, etc.
1062  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER Speculation Thread on: October 25, 2013, 12:13:55 AM
I've had a few requests to open up another Friedcat t-shirt group buy, so figured I'd post the link here as well, in case any of you missed out on the last two:

1063  Economy / Goods / [CLOSED] Friedcat t-shirt group buy #3! on: October 25, 2013, 12:08:40 AM
grilled cat identity USB mining machine!!!

Well blame Google Translate, obviously it is not perfect.

This is the THIRD group buy for these shirts; check out the first successful group buy (29 shirts!) here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=230843.0 and the second one (18 shirts!) here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=246518.0

For all you AM fans out there, here's a professionally-silkscreened tee for you to wear! This shirt features a single-color white print on a 100% cotton t-shirt of a random color! Mens sizes are available, from S to XL; ladies junior fit (you've been warned!) are available in some sizes only, so you'd better ask.

Shirt colors available include black, sky blue, olive green, brown, and whatever else we have on-hand!
Roll the dice and see what color you get!

Cost:
The cost per shirt is $12 plus shipping.

In previous group buys, shirts were $15 with a promise to return $5 to all buyers if we reached a certain number of orders; rather than deal with the organizational mess of such a setup again, I've decided to offer a flat-rate price for all shirts.

I'll start printing and mailing orders when we reach 13 shirts, or on November 1 if we don't reach 13 shirts.

Shipping:
Shipping to Canada: $4
Shipping to USA/Int'l: $10
Please add $3 extra shipping for each additional shirt.

At today's prices:
Total for 1 shirt including shipping is in Canada and to USA/International.
Total for 2 shirts including shipping is in Canada and to USA/International.
Total for 3 shirts including shipping is in Canada and to USA/International.

How to order:
1) Calculate your total cost, with shipping included, and send the equivalent BTC amount to 1CXK1j9sk3xz48svhtWzcTkLzjvk7NwPFs.
2) Post your size (S, M, L, XL), and transaction id to this thread.
2) PM me your mailing address.

Final total: 3 shirts

1065  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Casascius 2011 Coin 1BTC with Error on: October 22, 2013, 11:23:17 PM
Frame of reference - Nightowlace recently sold a graded 2011 holo error 1 BTC for 8 BTC.

You're welcome to additionally post a sale offer on my holo error exchange thread, if you like:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214589.msg3365431#msg3365431

Best of luck with the sale!
Thanks, I'll add a post in your thread. I think a bit less than 8btc is a fair price because it's ungraded.

I purchased a grubby one for ~4 BTC back in August, which I felt was a fair price: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=267631.0

Amagi Metals now offering the 1 Oz 2014 Australian Silver Kookaburra Coin here:

Huh. The Queen looks distinctly less grumpy on Australian coinage, hey?

I'm sorry to hear FedEx isn't reading the customs form correctly. You may want to clarify with them that corresponding harmonized code on the commercial invoice is for .999 fine silver. FedEx knows this.

Great, thanks for the tip. I talked to several FedEx people on the phone yesterday, none of whom seemed to know which side was up, so I'm waiting for a callback on Monday. Will let you know how it turns out!

Customs charges reversed, thanks again Smiley

I gave up on the morons an paid it, sonofab*  I was told on the phone that I had to submit a written form detailing the error and they denied my appeal. Did you get it solved via the phone only or did it involve paperwork too?

I was transferred on the phone several times before being told someone would call me back within a few days; in the end,
I had to sign a form giving feded limited power of attorney(!) so they could dispute the charges with CBSA.

Also, just keeping this on the radar:

Hi Mike,

No doubt you're busy these days -- can we get an estimate as to when you'll have the time to provide signed docs?

I'd love to have my personal PGP fingerprint included in the message as well, as this would help create a chain of custody for the coins.

Yeah, I still have it on the radar.  We're gettin' there.

Any update on this?

I run a silkscreen printing studio; let me print your shirts, not teespring!

PM me and we can discuss prices, shirt quality, etc.

1074  Economy / Auctions / 3.75% of the output of a KnC Jupiter, no hosting fees on: October 07, 2013, 08:38:56 PM
Thanks to Tafelpoot; as we're essentially auctioning the same thing, I liberally borrowed from his earlier post.

I'd like to sell my 3 shares in the groupbuy by SilentSonicBoom here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=225851.0

Each share represents 1/80 output of a KnC Jupiter miner for 2 years; hosting costs are covered by SilentSonicBoom.

This miner is extremely early in the queue, order number between 200 - 250.

I have 3 shares = 3.75% of the Jupiter miner output.

Bidding starts at 3 BTC for the 3 shares.
Action stops at high noon UTC on October 13.

Rules of bidding:
- The auction starts now and will end on 2013-10-13 at 12:00:00 UTC. The end time will not be extended unless the winning bidder fails to pay.
- When the auction ends, contact me by PM with your email address and your BTC deposit address.
- You will be given 48 hours to pay, beginning from the moment I request payment. Once your payment clears, I will PM SilentSonicBoom to update the payout address for the 3 shares.
- If you fail to make payment within 48 hours, I reserve the right to either cancel the sale, or to extend your payment window.
- Prices must be stated in BTC.
- When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled.
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first takes precedence.
- I reserve the right for asking some of newbie or other bidders to present evidence or pay deposit to prove his/her bid is sincere.
-Lowball bids will be ignored (seriously, don't waste your time)

Hey guys. I received a bill from FedEx yesterday for just over $88 -- tax on my purchase of silver maple leafs.

Fine silver is tax-exempt here in Canada, but unfortunately the customs forms you guys filled out listed the contents as "one ounce rounds 0.999 pure" -- the fact that it was silver was omitted.

This is a significant extra charge (over 10%). Any thoughts as to how I can resolve this problem?

Cheers!
1078  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold, Silver, & Platinum for Bitcoins on: September 26, 2013, 11:32:24 AM
Platinum, it's here! Amagi Metals now carrying Platinum.

http://www.amagimetals.com/platinum.html

Any thoughts as to why platinum is refined to 9995?

Most bullion coins I've seen have been 999, or in the case of Canadian coins, 9999 (or even 99999). That 5 looks so out of place!

I can also digitally sign PDF, which Adobe Acrobat will recognize and validate without any hassle to the user.  May come in handy.  Though it's a paid hardware signing module that is not really that suitable for signing batches of documents in bulk, it remains an option for one-off requests.

I'm not too familiar with PDF signing, but that sounds like it would be more accessible to non-technical people. Would it be too much of a reach to generate a PGP-signed message and have that placed into a signed PDF?

I'd be more than happy with one signed document per roll, listing the coins contained therein. I can envision silkscreening some nice certificates of authenticity with the PGP-signed messages, reminiscent of old 19th century bearer bonds Cheesy

Given that the final count of 0.5s with series 2 holograms is apparently only 45(!), I'm quite eager to get the "stamp of approval" on them!

I could secondarily PGP-sign the entire (Adobe-signed) PDF file as a binary (creating a separate signature file that GPG recognizes)

Signing PDFs also allows for easy signing of the embedded photos.  I have scanned all of the silver coins and most of the recent brass coins.
