This is as good a time as any to promote my friedcat/ASICMINER t-shirt design contest: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=242016.0
1402  Economy / Goods / ASICMiner Fan Club t-shirt design contest on: June 24, 2013, 02:05:04 PM
Hey folks,

I'm a screenprinter by day, and I recently ran a group buy of friedcat "fan club" t-shirts, which you can see here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=230843.0

With the popularity of friedcat/AM growing by the day, I figured it'd be worthwhile to do another t-shirt run, but this time, with an added twist:

THE BEST USER-SUBMITTED DESIGN WILL BE CHOSEN.

Here's the rules of this contest:
1) Submit a .jpg or .png preview of your design in this thread, for people to view and comment on.
2) The most popular entry will be chosen on July 7 (my opinion matters here, as some designs don't print well).
3) Once the winning entry is chosen, I'll open a new Group Buy thread and start accepting payment.
4) If we reach 12 shirt orders by July 12, I'll print the shirts; if not, everyone gets their money back.
5) If we reach 24 shirt orders by July 12, the price drops by $5 per shirt, and everyone who already paid will get a partial refund.
6) Also, if we reach 12 shirt orders, the winner of the contest gets 2 free shirts, and will have one of their shirts sent to friedcat as well.
7) All final submissions must be in .ai, .svg, or other vector format. Psd, jpg, png, etc will not be accepted. Maximum of two colors, although single-color designs will be given preference.

Our old go-to shirt style is being phased out, so this shirt run will be printed on slightly more expensive Anvil organic cotton. Initial cost for the first 12 shirts will be somewhere between $15 and $20, depending on the artwork and the final cost of the blank shirts.

CanaryInTheMine
I don't show that you have posted a single confirmation or reply to payments.
Only guessing here since I was the second order, I haven't received a PM, and not listed in the first or second post of the thread.

I know you have changed the terms of the auction in that you will sell as many as the people want; however, it would be nice to still get confirmations as I see people are making mistakes in not actually paying from addresses they have access to (like sending directly from exchange and in turn not being able to sign payments) and sending from multiple addresses per transaction.

Organizing even a small group buy is very complicated. Be patient, your units will be sent out Smiley

Regarding people sending from multiple addresses (and the one guy who boasted about sending directly from an exchange), well... good luck, and try reading directions next time  Roll Eyes

I expect the rise to slow down a bit until Weds.  What happens then is anyone's guess. Dividends will probably be a bit higher than last week, but not as high as the week before that.  I'm predicting in the .02 range.

Will this cause another sell off?

The following week should be excellent, as USB miners will be selling well, again, plus I expect a few blades to go up for sale, too.

I think the price is going to come down a bit this week, but no lower than 3.0.
1405  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Block Erupter USB Sales [New Sales Policy with New Price] on: June 24, 2013, 01:31:38 PM
OP says forum user Teek handles Canada, but i don't see any group buy thread or similar thread started by such a user so not sure how to proceed...

Teek runs wtcr.ca, you can buy them there or on bitmit

It's at 3 Bitcoin per share and look at their dividend payouts...terrible.

I actually rage when I see things like this. <Personal insult removed>. Even at current all-time-high prices, AM shares have an annual yield of 28%. Now, go out and find me ANY OTHER INVESTMENT IN THE WORLD offering that sort of return. Jesus Christ.

EDIT: Sorry, name-calling is mean.

Speculation based on these hashrate swings is getting old.  Give it a break.. hardware sales are far more important than TH/S in the current hour.

To help piss you off further: 38k BTC were invested in S.MPOE too.
Why would that piss me off?

Because bitcoin, or something!

The mistaken assumption is that people resent the fact that MPOE has stacks of BTC. In fact, nobody cares.

Are you fresh off the SA boat?

South Australia is a loooong way from Canada.
1410  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: June 22, 2013, 01:58:16 PM
I know that when the betting pool is empty, the max bet is not 0 - so what if someone wins less than 64 three times in a row?

What if someone wins BTC0.01 on your "game", which is also coincidentally called Satoshi Dice, and also coincidentally has a bunch of vanity addresses that start with "1dice"?

While we're asking questions, why do you keep putting quotation marks around the word 'provably'?

But we can't prove that you are generating fair random numbers. You could be rigging it in your favor! It's possible to let anyone verify your random number generation is fair.

Read up about provably fair gambling.

Okay, I understand your point. Will add a ticker on the website that will tell you the last drawn number.

Will it be okay then?
No! Because we can't prove you are drawing a truly random number.

Seriously, read about provably fair gambling.

Okay, will soon implement a method for 'proving' that the number was truly random.

Thanks for the Response! Smiley

Bitcoin is something greater than greed

money > greed

you sure about that? Huh

You just don't get art.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The shirts shown on the website are samples used for illustration only.

I can assure you that the actual shirts and printing are of good quality and not one of my customers has complained about the shirt they received.

(the real redbull one doesn't have the blue background and is in perfectly aligned and proportioned).

You may want to consider taking pictures of the actual shirts. I'd never buy a t-shirt without seeing the actual print Smiley
1415  Economy / Goods / Re: [+++] Bitcoin NotsoMegastore - Bitcoin T-shirts and nothing else! [+++] on: June 21, 2013, 02:18:02 PM
Yeah, sorry, the designs could use a lot of work. The Red Bull one is even all squished out of proportion...

1417  Economy / Securities / Re: S.MG - The Ministry of Games. on: June 20, 2013, 03:53:01 PM
right now you have nothing, no projections, no dates.

To be fair, PR's game art contest has been attracting some really serious contenders. It should just be a matter of time before they assemble an entire team of top-shelf undiscovered talent.

Actually the relation between you and art closely approximates the relation between usagi and finance. Come to think of it, that coincidence begs the question whether you're also gender ambiguous and nationality confused. Do you know what year it is?

Just call me Pat.

Your false assumption is that you are a capable judge of what's art and what's not, which is an amusing situation in that it actually begs the question. But hey, phrases change meaning all the time, so for all intensive purposes, you spoke correctly.

Not to mention it creates cooperative behavior of a kind never seen before in mmorpgs: sword RENTING.

Would work in the library eBook rental sense. If you go to Terrible Boner Town and rent the chalice of terrible boners, the Terrible Bonians would want some sort of assurance they'd get their chalice back, instead of just getting stuck with permanent priapism every time someone "rents" a chalice.

permadeath

I am sadly not authorized to comment on this point, but if I were you'd be wowed right now

(!!!)

This brings us back to the usefulness of in-game banks, or at least safes. If ol' Reggie Greyhawk was holding his full wallet when he got killed, he'd be awful sad. You'd make a killing on deposit/withdrawal fees alone.

He might ask for pay first however.

Well, I don't have any gold on me, but I've got this chalice, see...
1418  Economy / Securities / Re: S.DICE - SatoshiDICE 100% Dividend-Paying Asset on MPEx on: June 20, 2013, 03:29:08 PM
there is a reason MPEx contracts are well written.

Because the funds are managed by people who act before thinking?

Lelling at unexpected share dumps, "I'm taking this month's dividends / Oops wait no I'm not", etc

No, it's on the way back up.

Any thoughts as to why it started dropping at the moment BTCGuild mining went to zero?
