I was implying that the damage he is doing to their brand is as bad as Inaba has done for BFL.
Until he starts calling customers "fucking assholes", that's not true. Inaba is an actual piece of human shit, and comparing anyone to him is a very grave insult that I hope you'll reconsider. I think you will see that if they don't adopt a new pricing policy that they will not become the player they wish to be.
And what exactly do they wish to be? BKKCoins knock off is coming
hundreds of qualified engineers ... trying
Emphasis mine. Volkswagen is the largest car company in the world because they appeal to the common man with their rock solid low priced offerings
Actually, GM is #1. Volks has the #2 spot. Maybe things are different in other countries, but I didn't think VWs were particularly cheap? Friedcat tried to be mercedes on day one and while that model worked well in the early 1900's it doesn't play in the modern world of 1%'ers.
I know all those words, but I can't understand what you're trying to say.

It's like friedcat/AM is supposed to be a ruthless profit-maker and a soft feel-good "community leader" at the same time. You can't have it both ways.
Also note that if you're a shareholder who's holding more than pocket change in shares, your USB purchases were subsidized by your weekly dividends.

On the one hand, we have all these shareholders saying "I hope blade/usb sales were up this week!" and rejoicing at record-high dividends, but then on the other hand, we have the same people crying about ROI on the miners that they chose to buy.
I wonder how many of the people crying about the price drop were cheering the past few Wednesdays?

AM is probably throttling their hashrate because no one else is shipping this period.
Given the reports that Avalon is hashing with customer's hardware (and that BFL is probably doing the same), I don't think the increase in network hashrate over the next few months is going to be as crazy as people are making it out to be. I think 28% jumps in difficulty are already a thing of the past.

It's at 3 Bitcoin per share and look at their dividend payouts...terrible.
I actually rage when I see things like this. <Personal insult removed>. Even at current all-time-high prices, AM shares have an annual yield of 28%. Now, go out and find me ANY OTHER INVESTMENT IN THE WORLD offering that sort of return. Jesus Christ. EDIT: Sorry, name-calling is mean. The problem here is you are trying to compare it to safe, regulated investments that are unlikely to be shutdown by the government. For the amount of risk you are accepting...and I don't believe you understand all the risks...an annual yield for a 'top' bitcoin investment should be greater than 28%. BTW...it is not hard to locate some ETF's that have blown past 28%. Fair enough, although I'm not sure "terrible" is how I'd describe the situation. Keep in mind, as well, that it was only a few weeks ago that the annual yield was over 100%

If you knew it wasn't worth it, why are you pissed?
I'm only a bit pissed - anyone would be if they bought something for 2 BTC that was selling for 1 BTC two weeks later. Not rocket science really... [EDIT] Point is I'm not a returning customer. I'm only teasing, I understand what you're saying. I wonder how many people are ordering more @ BTC1 to bring their average cost down? If you bought 1 @ 2 and 2 @ 1, that works out to BTC1.33 each

And friedcat is panicking that the other 6000 wont sell.
The only people panicking are the people still trying to sell their first-batch miners on eBay. Nobody thinks 2 BTC was worth it (I didn't but I bought 2 to try it).
customers who already paid 2+ BTC will be pissed (like me)
I didn't
pissed (like me)
If you knew it wasn't worth it, why are you pissed?

that also makes you a greedy f**k
The bitcoin universe is filled with greedy fucks. You need to realize that this is still money we're talking about, and money attracts greedy fucks. Having said that, if you were selling widgets, and thousands of people offered you $200 per widget, would you say "naw, that's too much, $25 only"? If you sell more than you can make, your prices are too low.
If you sell too few - you over priced and missed the boat. Too true, but I don't think that's the situation we're in right now. Something like 4,000 of the first 10,000 units had been sold as of a week ago?

In for 5, but only if you will ship to Canada via USPS. FedEx will change me brokerage fees and I don't want to pay them.
If any Americans want to reship via USPS and can show that you're in good status on this board, please PM me.
USPS Priority International? Yes, that's fine. I don't want to pay $100 for it, though. USPS first class international should cost about $20, if that. that is correct, but it may take 10-14 days to get to you... (feedback from first group buys) express would be $45, much faster and better with customs. USPS turns into Canada Post at the border, which is one great big dice-roll. I regretted choosing it

So does this new version resolve previous issues with USB 3.0 hubs?
That's an issue with CGMiner, so I don't think it's anything this distro can fix. Damn... What USB hubs are people using? I need to power several USB Block Eruptors... I plan on ordering more, but the one hub most people seem to recommend is USB 3.0. The ones I do find that look reasonable and are 2.0 when I run the numbers cant power nearly as many miners as they have ports for. Currently I am using some belkin 4 port hubs that can each power two units I fond at the dollar store... they work but I want something good for when I expand! I've used this 10-port Rosewill hub: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182257Powers 5 erupters and the Pi itself, without any issues.

The new one because I like "Sony".
Yea i was glad they didn't get the Microsoft edition and for us to need to worry about DRM or loaning our chips. Now you only need to worry about your miner coming with a rootkit
