For the lazy ones :

Hi all,

Once again, thank you for all your contributions and support for Litecoin Core Dev. We understand that everyone is concerned about the April 15th news, however we have not received such Notice and we are operating as usual. So rest assured, users can still trade, deposit and withdraw as usual. And we would like to reaffirm that this will not affect our 1000LTC Matching Challenge, and will still be donating the 1000LTC as promised.

We have also added the International BTCC Voucher option for our international users. BTCC Voucher is BTC China’s new CNY deposit/withdraw method, and it can be instantly credited into your BTC China account.  With this new addition, international users won’t need to have a bank account opened in Mainland China to purchase BTCC Vouchers. Please follow the link for more information: https://vip.btcchina.com/page/notice20140328

If you have further enquiries about International BTCC Voucher, please email voucher@btcchina.com

Thank you

BTC China Team

I would like to remind people about these charts:

Bitcoin Price movements:

Litecoin Price movements:

I want to trade this downtrend but it doesn't feel safe, I know a reversal is about to happen, and it could happen in a couple of days or couple of weeks and as they say never try to catch falling knives...

2011 repeating ? will 2014 be the year of the depression ? I don't get what is happening but even if you try to explain it to me it just wont make sense...

If 2014 is a year of depression, it will be similar to 2012: Only 200% gain per year, ending the year at $2,000-$3,000 and bitcoin is dead as always.

I am almost sure (lets say 60%) that we will trade side ways with a feeling of a bear market to mid-end of April, I cant even imagine what the bottom will be, but if I would guess from looking in to the charts and how ast we came from a high of $710 to $466, I would say somewhere in the 300's but for some reason my guts tell me to not trade this...

I don know why but I am good with holding, I cant trade when there is fear...

Surprisingly, after resigning my Job and these late events...I am not worried neither nervous about this crash at all, I am also psychically prepared for lowers lows, the only thing that bothers me is that I have no more FIAT to spend on buying more coins. I really cant remember when I didn't care that much about the price.

Meanwhile I am playing around my server and trying to use my time productively, also am trying to work on my skills and maybe get to programming (I hate the fact that I was offline for so long), this is the first time in 6 years that I am totally free and I am eager to work on a Bitcoin related project or do anything helpful to the eco-system, well I still do check the price daily, but I don't care that much...

I really do not understand what is happening, it seems that every fart cause a crash while all the huge good news around doesn't seem to effect the price, I sense a downtrend till mid-end April...
1669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 27, 2014, 01:30:56 PM
What is happening ? I wasn't following for a couple of days, can anyone summarize please ?

Rumor talking about an insider who confirms that Mtgox found a total of 670K BTC that was supposedly lost, I wonder how this will effect the price if it turns out to be true... http://theblogchain.com/news/mtgox-found-bitcoin/

I have watched that the HODL word is so much used in this forum. I have searched in almost the whole internet and didn't found anything about its meaning. So I registered exclusively to ask this:

What the f+ck does HODL mean?Huh

HODL means HOLD it was an honest mistake from an English teacher who created a Thread "I AM HODLING"  he was angry about his girlfriend going to a lesbian bar and Bitcoin price crashing and the fact that he is a bad trader all happening in one day....  so he gave us a good laugh and since then we use HODL, SODL, SHOTR as a slang Cheesy

this is the original thread if you want to check it https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=375643.0;topicseen

Might this be driving the market atm?:

*Redemption of shares will be allowed on a limited basis as of April 2014 with expectation of qualifying for public trading of the shares via the OTCQX® under the Alternative Reporting Standards.

http://www.bitcointrust.co/

Are the potential sellers who will want to lock in their 300% profit getting priced in?

who are the owners ? is this the Winklevoss twins Trust ?

No, this is the Secondmarket fund.

mmmm, their web page looks different from the last time I visited, and it seems that they lowered the minimum investment to $25K... I am really curious how will this work out for them and how will it effect the Eco-system, will be watching...

Any longtimer here who wants to escrow a bet?

What is the bet?

This adjusted to $530

I'm usually fairly pessimistic but now there's a lot more support on the buy side than sell. Really don't think we'll break 540 anytime soon
I might be up for a bet :-) (I am fairly drunk at the moment, but still think I am capable of decent decisions  Wink )
How does 0.5 BTC sound that we"ll break $540 on Bitstamp within the week.

I would do it depending on how long is the bet, otherwise you can always use bitbet Smiley
1675  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 0.9.0 FINAL is available [Changelog] [Download] on: March 21, 2014, 12:56:08 PM
One thing I would suggest for devs, while I like the feature of new addresses and change addresses I don't know why cant we make this as an option for advanced users only.

For example I wanted to teach my parents about how to use Bitcoin, they think that they are Tech savvy, the truth is that my father manage to screw up the PC all the time, he thinks that he is a hardcore computer scientist and end up messing system files all the time. and then he go with a new installation without asking if anyone have important files on the PC, he also offers "help" to his friends...you can only imagine what can happen if they all have Bitcoin-qt.

I can imagine how can he lose all the bitcoins just by making a transaction and not backing up the wallet, one approach is to introduce these users to Armory, but I think this can be implemented in Bitcoin-qt because usually this is the first software a newbie installs. I've also seen few users asking where their bitcoin went after system re-installation.

The other kind of users rely on exchanges to save their coins, for them it is easier and less work to do, people are still used to the old fashion system when you leave your funds in a bank and they secure/manage them for you, this goes against some of the concepts of Bitcoin.

I don't know if this was brought up before, but I wish if Devs do look into it.

I am curious about what will happen when the whole USA wakes up and see the price, will they drink coffee and open their eyes first or will they start panicking ?

From now till tomorrow will be really interesting, another flash crash is really possible but I dont believe that we will stay there for long...

So there is a new slang going around for unconfirmed transactions...it is Dorians Cheesy

Examples: he sent me a Satoshi but it is  Cheesy or I see the incoming transaction but it is still Dorian Cheesy

also a slang for fake reports, my Co-worker newsweeked me Cheesy
huh?Dorian??
What is the origin of that idiom?

Dorian Satoshi nakomoto, the Newsweek report about the man who supposed to be the real Satoshi Cheesy
