he doesn't care about people selling into his wall, which bring many questions about manipulation....

see I am watching the bids increasing where the fuck this money came from ??!!!! was it all waiting out of the order book ? is it money that came today to exchanges ? I am so confused...
1807  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 03, 2014, 09:32:11 AM
Haha moving his wall every time it goes up a dollar. Interesting to see which wall that falls first at 599

Yeah funny to see how people can "play" with almost 2M$, but i doubt he will push to 599.

Shady as hell.
Something's up.
I doubt the whale is just messing around for fun.. Oh well, maybe not.  Tongue
I've seen this behavior happen many times in 2013. It doesn't seem shady to me - just a big player accumulating a position after all the speculators have finally stopped trading. He knows people will dump into his walls because the bear market is fresh on everyone's mind and they will think the wall is 'shady', or that there are dark-orders. The question is does this one guy mean the entire market should move permanently.

This is the main question, valid point.

the market wants to move anyway, we just didn't know in which direction, we were all watching for a first move, and this guy seems to risk and take that move and the market is following, in other words no one had balls to decide and this guy has balls and decided to not wait for the downtrend and buy now.

also this is not someone moving his wall from a lower price, this is new money or money that was waiting on standby, because I see bids increasing all the way down, there is 25K BTC down to 400, yesterday there was only 20K and today is the start of the week, so it may increase even more...
1808  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 03, 2014, 08:55:37 AM
According to sturle they "didn't need" to run on fractional reserve as they did "so much money" in fees that they could have covered ANY hole caused by seizures, misappropriations and whatnot.

My reply: never underestimate greed and incompetence. Bad management can destroy the biggest company in the world.

I wonder where sturle is hiding his face now. I remember him incessantly defending Gox in the Service Discussion threads throughout 2013.

he is hiding behind shame...

Today I increased my position from 35% to 50%. I will increase it again when 666 breaks.

this time if I buy back I will take a break from trading for few months Smiley I find it to be the best move when things doesn't work like you've planned, take a break and come back with new energy to not fuck up the profits you achieved Wink
1810  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 03, 2014, 08:39:37 AM

Ok boring, I am going to sleep, I have to wake up early for the job, Bitcoin do something while I am sleeping and let price alarms wake me up instead of job waking alarms Smiley

Ah, the face of my girlfriend when I tell her "hey, I'm sorry, tonight's one of *those* nights... I need to set an alarm". it's like her expression says: "I hate being woken in the middle of the night... but if it pays the future swimming pool... *shrug*"

my wife doesn't give a flying fuck, she believes in me and sometimes too much that i have to tell her to slow down  Cheesy

good night anyways Smiley

1813  Economy / Speculation / Re: TA 101 with MatTheCat. Critical Turning Point Ahead? on: March 02, 2014, 08:52:11 PM
those, who sold in expectation of further down trend and sitting now on fiat may feel quite nervous. there is a lot of coins waiting to be sold on higher rate and in case of any upward movement we may see some panic buying and those who sold will be buying exactly same coins back on higher rate.

[...]

This piece of TA 101 speculating on inverse head and shoulders break out was only relevant yesterday. That chance has gone. The price trends further and further away from the $580 resistance, on ultra low volume. On Bitstamp it seems to be mostly bots trading, desperately trying to rig the numbers that go into everyone's favourite indicators in order to hopefully influence indicator based market behaviour....but the market isn't having it. We are trending lower, the volume has been abysmal and it is not so much a case that sellers are refusing to sell, but that buyers are simply not interested at these prices, in these market conditions. This can mean only one thing.

It is no longer a matter of if we will go down, but when, and how far. There are strong technical and fundamental indicators that provide a pretty good argument for both $400 being the bottom, and for $400 being a mere Gox inspired outlier on a long term bear trend that is set to continue.

I am putting my bets on a higher low somewhere in $400 - $500. After this I am speculating that Bitcoin will go onto make a temporary recovery, taking out upper bear trend line that has been with us for the past month. But plenty much more experienced Bitcoiners than me are adamant that we will be seeing lower lows in the near future and will be betting big on it.

I can afford to have my buy-in tranches where they are as I can't lose. Even if if Bitcoin goes considerably lower and only rebounds up to the point of my lowest bid, I will have a leveraged short position that will cover me from any losses I take from aiming too high.

What precautions are you taking to protect your USD?

For someone who keeps insisting he's just now at Trading 101, you sure seem to have a clear idea of how to insure yourself against market reactions you consider less likely than the ones you're betting on dominantly.

I can't say I understand how what you describe would work. It seems to me that if your "hedge" (the leveraged short) is sufficiently big to cover a loss in your main investment, then it should also be big enough to substantially reduce your profit in case the main scenario takes place and your hedge is at a loss. Care to run it down for me? Doesn't have to be the actual numbers obviously.

I understand how he address this, for example I think the price is going to fall to 350, my goal is to buy 100 BTC what I would do is the next, open orders at:

5BTC    520
5BTC    500
5BTC    470
20BTC  430
20BTC  410
20BTC  380
25BTC  355

you lower the risk of missing the bottom Wink

1814  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 02, 2014, 07:57:18 PM
also IMHO most the dumps will be the next 24 hours, look at charts no volume, nervous market, and we are at the top of this wave, so it will be a rally for big holders, who will dump first Wink
1815  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 02, 2014, 07:50:34 PM
mmmm, what makes everyone sure that we wont retest the 400, I have many orders near the 400 Wink

and also I have some orders a little above 350 Wink lets see how that works out for me Smiley

Edit: and I am almost sure that we will visit that range again, well if the trend proves me wrong I will have some extra fiat Wink (didn't decide yet if I will cash that out but most likely will do)
1816  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 02, 2014, 06:38:21 PM
Bitcoin do it already, I don't have time and nerves to wait the whole day, do something already....

BTW watching bitstamp for some time now, bids are going lower, less than 4458 to bring us below $520

Its been pretty stable to $400 & $500 for the last couple of days. I expect bids to increase tomorrow with a little more fiat from Goxed people coming in.

there will be something tonight, it is either price dropping/raising significantly, but if I am on the right track I see it crashing rather than raising, we will see anyways... I already open orders, so lets see what will happen I wake up tomorrow morning Wink

1818  Economy / Speculation / Re: If someone buys Bitcoin today, they'll be lucky to see a 300%+ ROI. on: March 02, 2014, 05:25:40 PM
yes you do make really valid points there, but again who though that bitcoin could go to $1000 in one year when buying at $10 ....

It took $6.8 billion to get from $10 to $500.  It would take $63 billion to get to $5000/Bitcoin.  A lot of people are counting on Wall St. and institutional investors to make that happen, but $63 billion is A LOT of money, even for Wall St. How likely is it that investors will come up with $63 billion to put into a speculative currency?

Why, because 12.5 million coins x $5000 = $63 billion?  I'm surprised someone who's been here since 2011 could still think this.

Alright, alright, bad math acknowledged. However, I stand by the point I was trying to make.

yes growth will slow down after a certain price is reached, I think this is what you were implying to...

while I really appreciate the math you did there and while you have a strong and valid point regarding the growth strongly slowing down when reaching some point (I think this is what you are trying to point out)but again, you are ignoring a really important fact, let me point out few things out.

-there is more than 12 million BTC on existence (without ignoring lost bitcoins or satoshi's coins...) now you don't need to dump all these coins to bring the price to 0, I was discussing this before on the wall observer, if you have around 100K available for instant dump on all exchanges, you can bring the price to 0 and kill confidence... but if you had that amount of coins you wouldn't do that because this is plain stupid, why sell for 30  millions or less when you can sell for 5 or 10 times that in batches.

- we would never reach the $1000/BTC if all coins on circulation were traded daily in other words if we had that volume.... there is no demand near that point yet not even near 5% of that, we are far and so far from that point.
