2562  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin question? on: May 02, 2014, 10:49:31 PM
I hear that bitcoin will be unbanned after may 10 in China. Does that mean bitcoins price will go up? Should I buy now? Thanks guys.

Bitcoin has never been banned in China. Never.
2563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How many addresses can generate one private key? on: May 02, 2014, 10:46:28 PM
You have that backwards.

On average a single Bitcoin address will map to 2256-160 = 296 key pairs.

That is way more than a million.

But a given key pair will map to only one Bitcoin address.

(Well a key pair has two possible representations so in fact there are two Bitcoin addresses for each key pair because the two different representations of the public key:  compressed and uncompressed, each map to a different Bitcoin address)

Exactly. Your question is incorrectly phrased, addresses cannot generate private keys, it's private keys that generate addresses.

2566  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: wallet bitcoin on: May 02, 2014, 03:31:28 PM
Safer way is to gather all bitcoin to your local wallet, then send to exchange
there maybe be a little fee, but it's safer

How is it safer?
2567  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Methud | bitcoin cloud mining on: May 02, 2014, 03:30:26 PM
I actually should take back my statement of this being a scam. I chatted for a while with support, they say that they are building their own miners using ASIC chips, (The guy in question didn't know what chips they were) and it seems that they are going to release and sell their own miners.

Their support was actually quite friendly, answered all my questions. They say that anyone can go visit them anytime, lol.
2568  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [SELL] BTC for PaySafeCard EUR on: May 02, 2014, 03:27:23 PM

So that site is run by a 8 year old retard, or the owner is stupid enough to pay people like these.
Stay away.
2571  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: want some bitcoins on: April 30, 2014, 11:40:27 PM
Will you send the payment as a gift?
Why do you ask this?  Are you operating under the false notion that gifts cannot be reversed?

I am trying to see if he even has the basic knowledge of that. Most scammers are stupid.

2575  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ***CEX.IO Cloud mining official page*** on: April 30, 2014, 06:40:01 PM
CEX.IO Lowers Maintenance Costs

CEX.IO announces lower maintenance costs for owners of GHS. The previous cost was estimated at $0.30, but is now lowered to $0.26 for 1 GHS per month.

The maintenance costs on these cloud-based mining commodities are used to pay for costs of electricity, hardware maintenance, and data centre upkeep. The main reason for this drop in maintenance costs is due to working closely with hardware providers who can provide nearly free upkeep costs.
This drop in maintenance costs for holders of GHS should lead to long-term savings for investors.

What is the % of mining profit?

The % of mining profit varies, depending on the block duration.

Yeah, it may be 100%, 150%, or 200%+.

2577  Economy / Lending / Re: [REQ] Need small loan of 0.01 BTC, with LTC collateral. on: April 30, 2014, 05:49:03 PM
Collateral received, positive trust left.

KWH, can you do the same too? Also, some feedback on my reputation thread would be nice Smiley
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=517131.0

To be honest, I don't think loans with collateral are much of a reason to leave trust, as obviously they don't require any trust. Else everyone would just boost their trust by taking out loans with collateral from trusted members. Just my two cents, though.

I can see your point but if the feedback left shows 0 BTC risked OR leave the feedback on their Feedback Thread.
We had issues awhile back where people would take out ultra small loans just to bump Trust. So, perhaps the latter would suffice for the borrower?

I would prefer both, obviously, or the trust, but leave what you like :3

Well, as you wish, I'd appreciate it if you did, but it's okay if you don't.
