281  Economy / Economics / Re: Would bitcoin help teach kids about saving? on: October 09, 2017, 08:31:46 AM
So I have 2 cousins. One of them doesn't save and is a huge spender while the other is a saver and spends only once a year. So would bitcoin be a good way to teach them about saving? Since, mining bitcoin is the only way to make alot of bitcoin, I would use a alt wallet to show them what happens if you spend and don't save. What do you think?
For now BTC is a highly speculative asset based on a great and disruptive technology. It has lot and lot more to teach than only saving. However the promisse of huge profit is always a good motivator towards saving, so you might try it:)
We can teach kids in saving money at all times, they should know the value of saving money while they are young so that in case of emergency they have money to fund what they need to pay or buy. Since we are now in modern industry of cryptocurrency it is more important to teach them for their future, teach and show them the advantage and will hapeen if they save bitcoin/money.
It is good to teach kids about saving for their own betterment but there is no need to push little brains a lot. I dont' think they can really understand the meaning of crypto currencies, I mean not most of them can earn bitcoin.
Mining, Signature Campaigns, Trading all methods are above their levels. However if they save some amount from their pocket money and ask elders to spend it in bitcoin, it may work.
282  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Bitcoin End World Poverty? on: October 09, 2017, 06:17:17 AM
Bitcoin can not complete poverty. Charity or earnings with the help of bitcoin only those people who have the Internet will not solve the problem of all poverty. It is necessary to create jobs, and not to hope for a miracle.
I have the same opinion in this matter. Bitcoin can decrease the unemployment but not poverty.  If we look at the causes of poverty then illiteracy and underdevelopment are two major factors. Bitcoin cannot teach a person or make developments in a country.

It is the government choice and honestly politicians are not very sincere about the future of the country. Only few governments really care. Poor countries are poor because of corruption and bitcoin can't punish the culprits.

Seeing others selling cheap makes panic.
284  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most used exchanges these days? on: October 08, 2017, 07:01:47 PM
I was around a good time ago and traded at this point, I used to know Poloniex and would trade on it religiously. I don't really know what are the biggest exchanges at the moment and the most trusted ones, I've heard there are some problems that people have voiced with Poloniex and some other exchanges.

Anyone want to share the ones they use with feedback that they have with it?

Thanks
Poloniex is still very much good and I still trade on it since some of my portfolio on it are not in other reputable ones. However, as a result of support issue which poloniex has been having for a while now, most users have shifted gear towards bittrex and honestly, bittrex has been doing a very great job in getting theie users loyalty, hopefully they keep up with the good job.
285  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex or Poloniex. which one do you like to trade? on: October 08, 2017, 05:57:08 PM
I have account on poloniex but I don't like how the exchange operate its slow and not too many coins that are doing well
Not too many coins that are doing well? That does not have anything to do with poloniex, that is what the market is giving presently and it is the same result you  will get for these coins on other exchanges too. Regarding slow, I am not sure since I stopped using them for a while, but it is not a bad platform honestly except for their support.
286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: October 07, 2017, 10:53:52 AM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.

Explaining bitcoin in teenager or children are very hard and if you dont have a proof or good information about bitcoin but if you teach carefully and explain well maybe they can understand the bitcoin.
Teenagers can be taught with a little ease as compare to children because it is a very heavy concept for them. Teenagers have some sense of the world. They can understand the importance of having an earning and in western world, teenagers do earn also. Children must be given some more time to enjoy their lives. In order to teach anyone, just tell them it is an income source and some benefits. Ask them to make an account here and join signature campaign.
287  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Drugs with Bitcoin ? on: October 07, 2017, 08:32:08 AM
That would depend on what kind of drug we are talking about. Medicine is a form of drug too most of the time. I would say as BTC get more and more mass adopted, buying drugs with the currency coin doesn't so far fetched afterall!
I think, drug is basically used for things like cocaine, marijuana, heroine etc when asked or spoken generally.
Medicines are not something that a person would be thinking of buying with bitcoin or at least it is not a question to be asked.
However, if it is the case then yes we need to wait for mass adoption or can google some online shop. Otherwise, deep web drug dealers are not going to comment here openly.
288  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why isn't crypto going mainstream? on: October 06, 2017, 07:54:09 PM
I'm personally not sure why Crypto isn't going mainstream yet since i hear it all over the news.

I recently read an article from TheNextWeb and they mention Bitcoin and Ethereum will be everywhere? - Heh how soon will that be.

If you want to read about it, here's the link: https://thenextweb.com/contributors/2017/09/29/bitcoin-ethereum-will-soon-everywhere-reals/#.tnw_QPO9ybFP
How many people do you think are already aware about cryptocurrency globally ? We are also still at the adoption phase with a whole lot of development still going on gradually, governments are still contemplating and we are already talking about going mainstream ?

It is one step at a time, and we won't even need to ask all these questions as we will glaringly see it ourselves. Rome was not built in a day and we cannot expect cryptocurrencies to take a huge turn just within a year.
289  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: india may launch its own cryptocurrency - "lakshmi" on: October 06, 2017, 06:10:38 PM
According to a report in Business Standard, sources in the government said that a committee was set up to discuss the proposal of having India’s own cryptocurrency, as an alternative to the Indian rupee. the reserve bank's chairman said in a committee that they are not comfortable about the non-fiat cryptocurreny like bitcoin. so they launch there own cryptocurrency in india known as "lakshmi". also this would require the amendement of the currency act.  So could this decision lead to a major effect on the market of bitcoins or not???
Government trying to form their own centralized cryptocurrency since they have seen that bitcoin is uncontrollable. They should go ahead and let us see who is going to be dumb enough to make use of what they have.

I do not really see how this would be of much importance even to the crypto society and apparently will not even be a global currency.

Eventually, most people in India will stick to bitcoin as their preferred payment method, leaving the government with her own digital currency. Although, the good thing about these whole thing is that it is obvious blockchain technology is making a huge impact all over the world.
290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you find interesting ICO ? on: October 06, 2017, 05:06:46 PM
1-bitcointalk
2- twitter
3- websites like icoalret
So nobody is using facebook for that ?
Facebook is even the last on my mind to find interesting ICO. I have always kept myself abraised with the ANN thread on this forum and some few websites online that announces any latest ICO.

Lately though, I have seen some groups on telegram with the chance of deliberating on a particular ICO and then discuss the possibility of it making some sense eventually or not. All the same, all these usually end with my own due diligence on any project I will ever want to invest in.
291  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do I hold? on: October 06, 2017, 03:57:41 AM
I think if you hold it and keep waiting for the price to rebound it may take a long time, but if you believe it will get back to the starting price you bought or it could be more improved it is better, but there are times when we have to face some risk by selling it and wait for the price to get to the lowest point and start buying it again at a cheap price and hold it for sale when the price goes back up, that's what I do if the price goes down I take some losses to make a profit
That totally depends on the coin you are holding. Some coins take a longer time to recover from dips due to the level of support it has, some takes very little time before they recover. Usually, if you are sure the coin you are holding has good support, it is better to hold than sell when you are losing.
Indeed, you need to study your coin in detail in order to make formulate your plans with that coin. You should read articles related to that coin and join forums that provide recent information regarding your coin. Personally I will recommend holding bitcoins and selling altcoins when they are giving you some profit.
This is a very good way to always go about the coin one is holding. Once I am holding a coin, I always make it a duty to always check some few things at least 2 - 3 times a week about that coin. That helps one to quickly stay at alert most especially for any negative news that may be surrounding the coin at that moment.

However, if it is a coin with a huge support, I do not usually care much unless I want to make some profit from the dip that may be caused by the FUD anyway.

293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you see trading as fun and games? on: October 05, 2017, 08:57:01 AM
i dont see trading as fun and games but rather a professional job. Because this is where I only depend on, I'm just a young guy who cannot find a work who gave a lot of income like this. Even if I don't have any initial money in here like a starting money, I take this seriously because I look at this like my job. I practice my business skills in this in order for me to get used to this kind of situation when I'm going to be a future businessman. This is a great practice because I will not lose anything aside from those profit.
Trading is not a game and if someone will take it casually, he will face causalities sooner or later. It is a tough job that requires predictions with  high accuracy. However, any job is useless if the person is not enjoying his work so even if someone does not find it interested but doing it, he must wither give up on trading or start loving this profession.
294  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Turn $10,000 into 1 Million on: October 05, 2017, 07:03:39 AM
I can imagine its a relief now that LTC is out of your portfolio. Looked at LTC for a possible future investment but was kinda unsure about it too (it already ballooned from barely $4 in the last 6 months). Do you consider DGB to be a long-term investment? Personally I plan to get rid of them as soon as they result in a measurable profit.

Latest graph of yours still show a solid trend (with 'usual' ups and downs) towards the threshold of 100K!
definitely need to pay attention to another currency, because you really do not earn anything if for such a long time the rate has increased by only $ 4 ..

I guess it really needs to have more enough patience as you see fluctuations ups and downs was concerned here. Nevermind those other currencies while looking unto the holdings that you are focusing, and if you wanted your assets to grow you should maintain the long term goal no matter what happens.

This is very correct advice. The investor should be calm. If he starts to recede from the planned path and change tactics, he will lose assets. But this should not be allowed. Rich become the most patient
Making a plan and sticking to it is the best of all, but one thing need to be considered is the alternative plan. If something goes wrong than our prediction, we need to make the alternate plan take effect. So a sudden plan implementation will help in avoiding the loss in no time.
That is very clever to have a plan B in case plan A fails. This way a person won't face a sudden great loss or even if he does, basically he will be able to recoup the loss. If someone has 10k dollars, he must simply invest whole of it into bitcoin to get profits within a month or invest it in some useful business, which has thousands of customers like renting flats etc.
295  Economy / Economics / Re: What will happen if we use a one currency only? on: October 03, 2017, 03:38:51 PM
for example if we use the dollar it will certainly be bad news to see the habits of the corruptors in Indonesia, they will never do small corruption. What if they later corrupted $ 50 million or even $ 1 billion. Countries will be dizzy to tackle such corruption cases. that is if we use only one currency, for example the dollar currency
Going toward using bitcoin only will be a great step in the fight against corruption and bribing specially . There will be no more money to be given in cash secretly to a certain person that fills a high governmental place and such calamities will be traceable and could be used as an evidence in court to sue people for their crimes .
In a case where the government has one single account which is being used for holding and transferring into other sectors right ?

I am still trying to wrap my head around the possibilities of that, considering securities of the fund, who manages the account and how honest the body is, and even if they monitor the disbursement of fund from one party to the other using the transaction hash, until how many tree will they successfully do that ?

Probably someone with a better perspective can help out in this situation.
296  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: XAPO are now allowing people to withdraw their bitcoincash on: October 03, 2017, 07:34:12 AM
See this blogpost:

https://blog.xapo.com/time-to-convert-your-bitcoin-cash-bch/

They're giving people two options a) withdraw the bitcoincash and b) sell the BCH for bitcoin.

But they're setting a deadline of December 14th 2017. If you haven't withdrawn or sold by then, you lose your bitcoincash coins.
It is high time they did that, apparently, they have noticed they have been doing so little in the competition to attract wallet users and a good news for those who had cash back them in their xapo wallet. At least they can sell for a better price now if they want to. They could have given them earlier and sold when the value drastically came down from all the huge dumps. However, what is the point with the deadline?

299  Economy / Economics / Re: What happens when there is NO electricity? How does one trade with BTC? on: September 29, 2017, 07:55:21 PM
We hear in the news that many people in countries that have currency issues are starting to trade in BTC - for example, Venezula.

My friend asked me what about in regions where they lose electricity, how would they trade with BTC?

For example Puerto Rico is right now devastated by the hurricane, and many parts of its region don't have electricity.  A lot of people need to buy food and even fresh water.

Is there a way to still trade with BTC in such situations?

Can P2P trade still occur despite having any connection to the greater block-chain network?  Keep in mind that it's easy to charge mobile phone so they have access to wallet apps, but probably not the Internet.

I don't know too much about mobile data networks, but I doubt one's 4G/LTE data plan would work in such situations.  I assume that data would have to be relayed to a tower/dish before it's sent to satellites.  Am I correct?
With the second to the last paragraph you mentioned, there is absolutely no way you can do any trading or transaction without the network. However, if there is network, and the electricity is not completely bad, you can just use your smartphone or laptop since they have batteries you can use before your power company restores. However, in those areas you are mentioning, with the disasters, transaction will absolutely be the last thing on your mind.
300  Economy / Economics / Re: So, you want to be rich? All of you ? on: September 29, 2017, 07:10:57 PM
There is no way that every single people in the world would become rich.
There is always poor people. There is always starving and pain.
There is always a farmers. There is always a bakers.
There is always a doctors. There is always a teachers.
There is always an it guy. There is always an office boy. And so on.
You have written a lot. Simple thing is that the reason of investment n bitcoin is to become rich in the near future. The nature goes as it is going. Nothing could change the nature of this world. You should not be worry about that. Just think how you should become rich with the investment and joining signature campaign in this forum. All other things I think would be before the time to think about.
