What size are they? as in physical size? 2.5 or 3.5? I may consider cracking one open as i need to put another in a laptop

From the picture http://imgur.com/a/oZi9w I can say that these are 2.5", but don't forget that these were used for mining.
782  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sell or wait? on: January 19, 2017, 03:06:19 PM
At the current stage (nowadays) I think that it it better to hold because the current price of bitcoin is increasing based on the recent changes in the bitcoin price chart, and while it is increasing it's better to buy rather than to sell.
783  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1000$ rally tomorrow on: January 19, 2017, 03:04:06 PM
The $1000 target is not far from the current price but besides Trump I think that also Chinese exchanges have a high potential to change/affect the price
784  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Bitcoin has power nowadays ? on: January 14, 2017, 02:02:42 PM
More and more people around the world are seeing the multiple uses Bitcoin has in which to enhance their lives, not just as a store of value, but as a cheap way to send money back and forth, especially those who have family members in developing countries at home where usually remittance fees in fiat are very expensive.

Bitcoin has a good future, it's not that bitcoin has power nowadays, even though it was the first one and known as an innovation it was also powerful in the past and was a good motivation and still is for others to start a new cryptocurrency adding other features that bitcoin does not have.
785  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have not invested in Bitcoin when it was 200 US dollars on: January 14, 2017, 12:40:32 PM
When I came to know about Bitcoin and other crypto currencies, the Bitcoin was 500 US dollars and slowly it fell to 200 US dollars. At that time I could not invest any thing in Bitcoins so I missed the chance now it crossed 1000 US dollars may be it can reach its peak of 1300 US dollars like in 2013 or may raise more than 1300 also. Once again it come down I wish to invest this time, I do not wish to loose the chance.

You are not alone in this and many people have missed the chance to invest in bitcoin when the price was $200s but if you missed the chance to sell at 1.2-1.3k then the price now is not as bad as you think, it is a good time to invest if you want to hold them and you think to invest for a long term.
786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin the best cryptocurrency what so ever? on: January 14, 2017, 12:36:06 PM
I wanna know if Bitcoin is the best, the most secure, the speediest and the most precious currency right now, because there are many many currencies available and each offer some promises.

Is it logical to work with one or is it safe to somehow use several? Can anyone help me out?

I think that bitcoin is one of the best cryptocurrencies, every currency has its ups and downs and so bitcoin does, but along with bitcoin there are also some other coins that are powerful too and have a good potential to be grown in the next few years.

Can you name some? Only to compare

There are some which I think are good and have a good potential, some of them are the most traded coins in poloniex which are ETH, ETC, XMR and I would like to add here that also ICONOMI (ICN) has a good potential and it is an interesting project which I "discovered" recently.
787  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: which coin to trade base on thier statistics? on: January 14, 2017, 12:19:11 PM

if you are to start trading on altcoins, what sort of consideration should check before buying?

Should you chose Ripple because of their high volume per day yet the price is just cents and the total supply is 33 trillion or should I chose go to trade with low supply like Monero because the price is more than $10?

What are the things you consider before buying a coin, its Market Cap, Price, Available Supply and volume?

Eth price changes a lot as well in a short period of time, I think that ETH has a good potential for those in trading along with ETC and Monero, if you check their trading volume in poloniex then you can estimate which one worth most trading.
Agree by checking the volume of a certain coin in a certain trading sites you can know which one is have largest trading and you can try to trade to it. I will suggest that don't invest with everycoin that has a Large volume check first if that coin is legit or not. Because if that is not legit coin you can loss your money there just like my money. So check first before you trade.

First we should analyze the market, and if a new coin has a large volume then there is a high chance that coin is being pumped hard but ETH, ETC, XMR are in the top not for a short time so I think it worth investing there. Also a good move is to compare the price between exchanges and sometimes it works making a small profit.
788  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Incent Trading Thread /w escrow on: January 14, 2017, 12:04:47 PM
SELL 3129 Incent for 9.387 BTC  ---> 0.003 BTC/Incent
The last I checked incent price on openladger it was 0.0009btc.
There are hardly any buyer at that price too and you asking 0.003 btc is no less then a joke Cheesy

I don't know where are you seeing the 0.0009BTC price but I just checked the history of Incent in bitshares.openledger and seems that the price didn't break the 60k for a long time. For a long time seems that I am the only one who wants to buy INCENT but I want to update my BID order to 30k.
If that is the case, there are many sellers who want to sell at much below price, why aren't you buying? I myself own 800 incent and willing to sell at 30k.Pm me and we can seal the deal with escrow of course Smiley

From the main post the lowest Sell Bid is @Coin_trader|0.00006372|0.0065|102 so I haven't seen anyone selling at 30k. Btw why haven't you tried to sell in bitshares.openledger.info, (the website is down at the moment), after it gets up I will send you a PM.

The price seems to be at 5.5k not at 50k, my mistake. And my BUY BID is not 30k but 3k.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think are the biggest disadvantages of Bitcoin? on: January 14, 2017, 11:54:41 AM
I think bitcoin is decentralized cryptocurrency which can accessed via internet only. This is very important factor we have to consider as disadvantage of bitcoin.

Many developed countries are using high speed internet but what about poor or lower tier level countries. Peoples from such countries could be still far away from bitcoin.

Bitcoin have its own protocol which is called as qt. And it need only internet to access your own BTC wallet from any device.

Internet access is going to be spread mostly everywhere and many giant companies are trying to offer free Wi-Fi to people in order to access the internet (and probably spy/know what people are doing on the internet). Sometimes there is no need for a high speed internet because there are many wallets which do not require to download the whole blockchain but you make a transaction with a very small bandwidth.

I see that you got an award from the Blockchain Summit 2016 but will you join this summit, the Blockchain Summit 2017 which is going to happen at February 9, 2017, I think that there will be lots of questions and the answers could be useful/helpful for the community!

This is one of the things we're working on, getting the news out.  We have received all kinds of awards and praise from Blockchain industry types, in fact right now I'm sitting beside a giant cheque that we won in 2016.  Even Vitalik starts talking about us at the 10 minute mark

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He850TP59SI

To give you a direct answer, I'm not sure if we'll be at the 2017 summit.  I know Earlz is at a conference right now.  I'll ask Patrick when we meet today.

I'm happy that you guys got many awards and this have probably motivated you to work more in the project, I'm not sure about the pricing in the Blockchain Summit 2017 but it would be a good opportunity to join there, I wish you good luck guys and looking forward to hear good news about QTUM.
791  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Minimum Amount To Start Trading? on: January 14, 2017, 11:43:22 AM
You can start trading with as low as 0.001 btc but you can't make big profit with small amount.Recently I sent 0.0045btc on Poloniex and with trading I now have 0.005btc.
Small investment also means less risk

Sometimes is not about the risked amount but about the strategy we use when we make the buy/sell move, because if we are successful on small amounts this means that we have a good potential to succeed and with larger amount too (even though there is a higher risk).

793  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Hit $2K ? on: January 14, 2017, 11:28:59 AM
2k is a joke

it's 10k
Do you really think bitcoin will reach 10k dollar anytime soon, I think we first see a dump to around 500 dollar and than see an upwards trend to 2000 dollar at most. even 200$ is also hard to reach in early future. it must take another halving.

10k is a joke, 2k is more possible. I'll believe if the price of bitcoin will ever reach first at 2k and then after that then that's the right time to expect more increase. But the sad truth has been spoken, $200 is even more harder nowadays but who knows what can happen. Maybe that 10k will be reached after the next halving but as of now, I'll stick that it is possible to reach 2k within this year or again after 2018 new year's eve.

Yeah, the only way that bitcoin price to reach 2k is after a big crash (after reaching 10k lol). The 2k and 10k both of them can't happen now because there is a panic in the trading world and I think people should be careful when trading because there are many changes that are happening!

Either of them is still impossible to make it happen at this moment and the panic is caused by the Chinese, I don't really blame them but most of the incidents of bitcoin's fall is being caused by them. And it is also cause when their own currency yuan collapsed when the price of bitcoin is at peak while entering 2017.

There are many reasons when the price of bitcoin gets affected, and one of them are the events that happens in China, another one is the dump/pump that happens in popular and large exchanges, then the "hacks" that happens there and people's speculations.
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform on: January 14, 2017, 11:12:21 AM
I think we need to be realistic with our expectation, without the launch of platform 0.0005/ICN is good, but the team is not committing themselves again after the last date given was postponed. I will like them to engage with investors more

The 50k target is already reached on liqui, there were some orders at 0.0005 and this can be a good news for iconomi and probably this weekend the price will be pumped and we hope that this will reach at 100k per 1 ICN.

796  Economy / Exchanges / Re: List of bitcoin debit cards on: January 14, 2017, 12:10:25 AM
Coinsbank is free for the first year but requires verification with docs to unlock benefits of named cards.
What are the unlocked benifits?
Look at their card comparison tables here to find out yourself. If you order a named card you'll have to submit documents to unlock it or it'll be used as a no name one.

I don't know if here is the right place to ask but how to prove the ownership of No Name card when there is no name printed in the card, for example the card gets stucked in ATM and you have to provide the ID in order to get your card back, understand the situation?
That's a good question but I guess that it's up to each bank's policy and can vary as per jurisdiction. No name cards aren't convenient to use for ATM transactions too so this can't be an issue affecting many people.

I will open a thread dedicated to this question because I have one bitcoin debit card from cryptopay and the name is my nickname so this can be an issue if the scenario above ever happens, I planned to use spend bitcoin and withdraw from ATM when I need them urgently, anyway thanks.
797  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a good time? on: January 13, 2017, 11:44:01 PM
Since the price is still somehow not too high, is it a good time to buy BTC or should I wait a little bit more? Does any one have any Ideas?

It's not to high when we compare with the latest price of $1.1k otherwise 1BTC is not cheap as before but not expensive as before, so if you think to invest for a short period of time then it's risky but if you think to hold them for a long time then go for it!
