1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a gift for a baby? on: September 07, 2016, 09:57:26 PM
What vanity gen are you using? and yes i have done it for my kids tho i didnt bother with a vanity address i just got an address off of bitaddress.

As far as I know there is only one vanitygenerator and you should have a good cpu/gpu to get faster the vanityaddress (with 4-5 characters as prefix mostly) but also people are offering a part private key for your vanity address which sometimes can be free sometimes cost a little bit.

Thank you Smiley

My pleasure.
1282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a gift for a baby? on: September 07, 2016, 09:26:28 PM
I haven't done it in the past neither I plan to do it in the near future, but is a good idea though. To generate a brand new vanity address or use the free/cheap services here or generate yourself from a clean pc. If you give them an address with the private key you can always hold the private key and sell if price crashes but anyway this is a present. I would give as present a physical bitcoin and the vanity address.
1283  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin to be international currency on: September 07, 2016, 09:22:38 PM
If bitcoin to be international currency, what do you think?
You can use it every where and anywhere, without exchange it.
And how to use transaction with it, if bitcoin just crypto currency?
How many people like with this thread?

I consider bitcoin already as international currency because the fact that we use it without exchanging to another currency means that bitcoin is getting used by a large number of people, we know that not all people in the world use fiat nor bitcoin but the number of bitcoiners is increasing day by day.
1284  Economy / Exchanges / Re: opening a bitcoin exchange site in my country on: September 07, 2016, 08:33:44 PM
the site will accept two ways of payment, bank wire and credit cards. For bank wire I see no problem, as I will deliver the bitcoins once I see the funds in my account. As for credit cards the users will expect to get paid instantly. I understand that I will have to keep someof the coins online on a wallet which allowes withdraws over api or something alike. Is that the correct way to do the cc transactions?  I see 2 points of failure here. One is the site I use goes under and I lose my coins, second is my site gets hacked and coin access is avilable to the wallet site. What is the best way to secure this? What sites with good reputation provide this service?

Since you have only 1 coder which is responsible for the website and for the security this is not enough if you plan to expand and have lots of users, what I would like to know is how much is this costing to you with and without the developer part. I'm thinking to create one too but I know that there are lots of risks especially with creditcards and chargebacks.
1285  Economy / Economics / Re: Selling Lemonade for Bitcoins? on: September 07, 2016, 08:25:26 PM
It's not a bad idea to sell lemonade for bitcoins but the implementation seems a bit complicated to me, because I think that these lemonades are not expensive and don't know if worth waiting for a confirmation until you deliver the lemonade to the client. Have you though about this, tried or anything else?
1286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What to do with a 2 Litecoins on: September 07, 2016, 08:14:27 PM
If you have a 2 litecoins, What will you do to increase it? Will you trade it to other altcoin? Which altcoin?

2 Litecoins are worth less than 8 dollars, so what you should do is forget about these money and hold them for a longer time, otherwise you can start trading them for bitcoin then into ethereum or any other altcoin or directly from ltc to ethereum (if possible). Why I suggest ethereum is because is one of the most traded coin recently.
1287  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Problem with Coinbase! Please help. If wrong thread, please advise. on: September 07, 2016, 08:11:13 PM
I have a good friend that had a few bitcoins sent to his email address and he had an account at coinbase, he hasn't been there in a while and either forgot his password or had some other issue. Hes been given the runaround for a year. Hes talked to support and they give him the same run a round, now, this person is technologically challenged. But I need to help him retrieve his coins, he has what I consider mor than just a few, but not a ton. Still worth a lot of money.

What should I do to help him? Obviously my  ip or email won't work, but I'm at a loss on what he should do.

Bottom line is that he can't access his account.

Please help or advise.

Thanks

Does he remember the email address that is associated with the coinbase account? Have you tried to reset the password of the coinbase account or you can't access it because of the 2FA, what have you tried guys until now? We can suggest these things otherwise coinbase support it's final decision.
1288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A teen is given $1K to invest into Bitcoin - what would you recommend for them? on: September 07, 2016, 08:08:07 PM
Let's say a young teenager is given some coming-of-age money from their family, and is interested in growing that money through Bitcoin. Without encouraging him/her to invest in risky strategies, what are some lower risk methods of growing a Bitcoin portfolio with a hypothetical gift of $1K?

Don't know what he did with those money at that time but if he invested then he could see the profit at the halving time when the price was more than 700 USD now the price is a little lower but still bitcoin price can be increased at the end of the year.
1289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you put all your money into bitcoin? on: September 07, 2016, 08:04:51 PM
75%, i have the rest in some good altcoin, like lbry or spreadcoin, also waiting for zerocash to invest it, i'm avoiding like the plague all ico, they are shit, after you see what happened to lisk

Comparing with you I own only bitcoin and fiat (IRL), I have experimented with altcoins a lot and the conclusion is that holding bitcoin is sometimes better and the rest I'm holding in fiat because of the needs that I need in the real life.
1290  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: My first bitcoin startup on: September 06, 2016, 06:41:55 PM
I don't know if the first idea has any potential to make money (for your income), about the second one there are already sites like that, poloniex has it too. About the third one I like the idea, it's pretty same like the KickStarter and it has the potential to make money.
1291  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] iPhone 6s 128 GB Rose Gold on: September 06, 2016, 06:35:21 PM
This phone has been unlocked and will work on any GSM or CDMA Carrier (it has both bands). I am looking for a payment via PayPal (Goods and services is fine). Phone is in excellent condition. If you guys want any specific pics, feel free to ask.

Offer me a price

You should take few pictures of you phone, from your post I believe that it is used and not brand new. Also what people are interested is where are you shipping from and the price.
1292  Economy / Exchanges / Re: btc rate sensitive site . on: September 06, 2016, 06:10:35 PM
Many replies but none of them voted, I voted for coinbase as I check more often the price there, but if you want to see the price on multiple exchanges at once then go to coindesk.com/price and check the exchanges that are there and you can see in the graph the bitcoin price on each exchange.

1294  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: September 06, 2016, 05:55:49 PM
My worst decision that I made with my bitcoins was selling them at $215 usd many years before, I needed the money and I had no other choice to get some money and decided to sell them, it was a bad decision but it worth-ed to me a lot at that time.

1297  Other / Meta / Re: After Change username.... on: September 06, 2016, 11:07:42 AM
As far as i know users that changed their username, now to login they still use the old username (don't know about the new one). About the PM issue I would suggest to contact Mitchell as he has changed the username in the past, Lauda too.
1298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are bitcoin ATMs worth using? on: September 02, 2016, 08:44:07 AM
Some friends and I are considering using a bitcoin ATM to do some online shopping. Would it be worth using a bitcoin ATM rather than just an internet exchange site?

What are some advantages and disadvantages to both? Any tips or anything I should know ahead of time before using an ATM?

Thanks in advance!

The advantage of using bitcoin ATMs is that you can buy bitcoin without contacting anyone, without worrying that you will get scammed by someone. Using ATMs sometimes is cheaper because you just go there and purchase but sometimes the fees are high (don't know exactly how much are, maybe is different in countries).

In my own opinion why bother yourself with looking for this probably you have interest in developing something like that, then I dont know but if its to get one then I will just suggest you convert your coins to FIAT then make it happen...

I think OP wants to get any discount by paying bitcoin, but in case want just to spend bitcoin then there are many options like funding a bitcoin debit card and spend the money like with normal credit card. OP I think I have seen something about flights and hotels but I remember that were posted from newbies, so it's not much safe.
