1261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can exchanges find out Bitfinex funds if "hacker" runs them throught mixers? on: September 15, 2016, 07:25:39 AM
If a mixer receives coins that are from a known theft, as far as I know they remain neutral to the whole thing and limit themselves to do their job (mix the coins). There are certain sites like Helix that as far as I know are fully automatized, run on a onion tor website and deliver clean coins, after that I would say it's impossible to find, so he would proceed to sell in exchanges. Of course if he isn't a total idiot, he will not dump and will sell slowly so he doesn't get caught.

So in this situation... how can they find them? I wish they find them and people can recover funds but what if he runs coins through mixers?

The mixers does not have the potential to mix all the bitcoins that were hacked so probably the hacker will start mixing the hacked bitcoin by starting with a small amounts so they can't be traced, I don't think that the bitcoin mixers will blacklist these addresses like the exchanges because they have profit from this.
1262  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: one reason why bitcoin will not surpass fiat on: September 15, 2016, 07:17:00 AM
Another reason which I would add is How do you buy bitcoin? the answer is through fiat (mostly) so bitcoin is way too far from fiat and can't surpass the fiat never (in the next few decades)
1263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin being used for illegal activities on: September 15, 2016, 06:59:58 AM
I see more and more acrticles of bitcoin being used for illegal activities
will this hurt bitcoin in the long run , will governments ban this just like they started to do wih paying in cash for some services
to harden the use of illegal , and money laundering

If you have ever heard about ransomware then you should understand that this virus is illegal because encrypts all your files in your computer and asks for money (bitcoins) to send to the hacker and get the decryption key to decrypt the files.
1264  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Tablet on: September 15, 2016, 06:44:01 AM
I was looking for tablet, with bitcoins is more expensive then with dollars as I can see on sites where they sell stuff for bitcoins. But maybe someone here have some tablet, and maybe someone can offer me a good tablet for a nice price.
I'm from Serbia, it's in south Europe, if someone have some nice tablet for selling and if  price of shipping is not high we can make some deal. You can show me what you have here or send me PM.

If you have made a search before you can find that a guy from U.S is selling a Samsung tablet Galaxy Tab S2 9.7" https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1614426.0 but probably you should pay for the international shipping.
1265  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How much profit is Poloniex bringing each day? on: September 15, 2016, 06:41:46 AM
Anyone have a rough idea of how much profit Poloniex.com is bringing each day?

Please point the approximately amount in BTC or USD

Thank you!

From the poloniex charts we can see that the total amount that was traded the last 24 hours is $14,898,411  or 24,446 BTC then we should calculate the 0.2% in average (because the fees are from 0.15 - 0.25%).

1267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Making Bitcoin Fully anonymous ? on: September 14, 2016, 12:05:26 PM
Since they moved to altcoins business then for us using bitcoin we should use many different ways to be anonymous and few of them can be by using different IP addresses different wallets different exchanges and different bitcoin mixers and we end by paying some fees which worth or not.
1268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FACT CHECK: Bitcoin Blockchain will be 700GB in 4 Years on: September 10, 2016, 01:16:48 PM
Quantum Computers are advancing much faster in calc and storage capacity. In 4 years from now, QCs will have cracked the blockchain, and Bitcoin will be gone, or at least, residing on a QC.

Cool

Its true that quantum computers are advancing fast but as far as i know until 2020 bitcoin is quantum computers resistant
1269  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: September 10, 2016, 09:40:21 AM
Whatever the price be you should decide if you want to buy a house or not, depending on your bitcoin volume that you are holding I would not buy a house unless i plan to sell it later and make profit but depends on our preferences.
1270  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ?? on: September 08, 2016, 03:26:46 PM
Why Should I Choose Bitcoin ??
It's the first question one should face while starting to deal in bitcoins and answer this will satisfies you to choose bitcoin over others. Some of the benefits that Bitcoin have over other includes :

1-Quick transactions – Bitcoin is transferred quickly over the Internet.
2-No expenses/low charges – Unlike credit cards, Bitcoin can be utilized for nothing or low costs.. This enhances revenues margins deals.
3-International installments – Bitcoin is used all over the globe; e-commerce sellers and service suppliers can easily agree to take international payments. Which uncovered new potential commercial centers for them.
4-Information is secure – As we have seen with late hacks on general retailers’ disbursement processing systems, the Internet is not generally a secure place for private information. With Bitcoin, clients don’t surrender private data.
5-Much More Easier – Bitcoin is Much more easier rather than we think.Means to say It’s Much more easier than transfering a Payment from bank account From bitcoin you can even transfer a Payment in few clicks even While listening songs.
-Hope this will help you in believing Bitcoins !

Well when you describe something, in this case bitcoin then you should mention the advantages and disadvantages (not only the advantages) and I would mention that with bitcoin you can stay comfortable and not depending if you are a seller or a buyer since bitcoin is irreversible so there is no chance to get a chargeback if you get scammed somehow, but at the other side it is good for sellers.
1271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how strong is bitcoin really? on: September 08, 2016, 03:21:29 PM
I think that bitcoin is strong but the price crashes when the popular exchanges get hacked or a lot of bitcoin get stolen. After a while we will see that more bitcoin will be destroyed/burned and the bitcoin price will increase but in general bitcoin is innovative and the community will not let it die.
1272  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you have to get your bitcoins taxed if you sell like 220 dollars monthly? on: September 08, 2016, 03:10:07 PM
So let's say you sell 220 dollars monthly to help your family with paying bills, food and basic expenses. I am making around that monthly and I need to help at home. I have no job right now and I can't find one since my studies and I can only aim at really low paying jobs which suck so I would rather keep making money online with trading and websites. I don't make much but enough to not have to work to buy myself some stuff.

Anyway, if I sell 220 dollars worth of bitcoin every month, does this need to get taxed or the amount is so small that I don't need to report it?

I see people say that this is a small amount but if the law about taxes mention bitcoin or any other digital currency that should be taxed then I think any amount should be taxed(my opinion maybe I'm wrong, I hope to be wrong) otherwise if they tax $1000 they should tax $200 too.
1273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ads on Youtube on: September 08, 2016, 03:07:25 PM
I have heard a lot about spreading then news about Bitcoin. I still think that social media is the answer to that. I mean Facebook already has a seventh of the world’s population. Youtube is also growing fast. I also know that many people in this forum have Youtube channels. I am wondering if we can get any ads relating to Bitcoin on the videos that they post. Is it possible?

If it is, I would like to have this thread dedicated to ads that can be put on youtube. Let others know about this wonderful cryptocurrency.

Smiley

To advertise directly the bitcoin then it should be someone from the bitcoin founder (which is unknown) then the bitcoin devs but I don't think that they are interested in this, so nobody will advertise for something that they will not get any profit, but those companies that operate and accepts bitcoin these can advertise in YouTube.
1274  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you use multiple Bitcoin Wallets to store your Bitcoins? on: September 08, 2016, 03:02:48 PM
I have my hardware wallet which I ordered recently and it is the Ledger HW.1 and saying the truth it looks like a cheap USB but in fact it holds bitcoins and it does it job simply and good enough. I'm using it as a cold wallet so for me using more than one wallet is good because you see the potential of other wallets as well.
1275  Economy / Economics / Re: 1,000 bitcoins on: September 08, 2016, 03:01:18 PM
Hi,

I just recently bought 1,000 bitcoins and want to use my position to be an OTC trader. I understand that many people are selling and buying bitcoins at 5%, I thought I can sell or buy bitcoins at 3%. So those who are selling and buying at over 5% can buy or sell bitcoins from me to sell to their customers to make 2% or higher (this figure comes from over 5% - 3%) so I can make 1% or 2% and those selling and buying over 5% can make the difference. It's kind of arbitrage for otc traders.

PM me if you are interested Smiley

This is impressive if this is true 100%, owning 1000BTC is not a small deal but you have made the plan very good at selling at few percentage below the market price, I don't know if you have still found the traders but you can buy and sell also in localbitcoins or open a fanpage/group in your country and see if anyone is interested.
1276  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Skills vs Luck *poll* on: September 08, 2016, 02:56:32 PM
When trading What Matters More Skills or Luck?

For me most of the time luck takes care of my profit, not always because I can't invest or trade on something that is almost a dead coin and those that have been ended at 1 satoshi so also the skills/knowledge is very important because you choose where to invest and where not because of this risk.
1277  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will not Die Untill Bitcoin will reach at Least 50K on: September 08, 2016, 10:24:27 AM
Not likely, the bitcoin price is really hard to reach the target of 50k for each bitcoin, for the moment is a dream for us if bitcoin reaches 1k or 2k USD so I doubt that for this decade bitcoin will reach 50k.
1278  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to buy really large BTC amounts? on: September 08, 2016, 10:20:34 AM
So as in title, Is it possible to buy really large BTC amounts? like a million $? What was the largest amount of BTC you bought at once?

I think buying millions of dollars worth in bitcoins can be possible, i have seen recently the simplex.com website which promises that you can buy as much bitcoin as you want so you should give a try.
1279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All these banks are now useing bitcoin on: September 08, 2016, 10:18:04 AM
How are you so sure that bitcoin protects our privacy 83%, about the privacy when banks adapt bitcoin then i can say that bitcoin from these banks are not anymore anonymous and saying the truth bitcoin is getting less and less anonymous.
1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't store private keys on UBS Safe on: September 07, 2016, 10:00:41 PM
I wish someone that is actually storing the private key on this UBS Safe will notice this thread and take an action, as long as it is online we can't be secure that the private key is safe 100%, especially if it saved as plain text (worst case).
