Legit but accusations? Isn’t it in contrast? Not to invalidate those instances but Stake and other reputable gambling sites won’t still be in such position if things are really problematic. But I respect those who prefers platforms which does not require KYC;  we have different tolerance with site rules in the first place and of course it won’t be suggested to players who are up against mentioned procedure.
<...>
-snip-

However, I had a question, if you take all the millions of gambling players around the world and ask them what percentage would prefer to play anonymously and not go through all these humiliating KYC procedures, but, of course, if the players were sure,  that there will be no obstacles from the casino side when withdrawing the money won.  I think that 90% of players would prefer to play without KYC.  By the way, this is a big problem for the entire gambling industry - the problem of casinos imposing KYC on consumers - players.  It is clear that these are legal requirements.  But this requirement limits the rights of consumers and after some time, subject to the free development of society, should be abolished.
This requirement also violates the human right to privacy, which is guaranteed by the fundamental documents of human rights.
That's what I think.

It is, as you said, humiliating.

There are some reasons why KYC would be justified, even though in most cases it vulnerates the human right to privacy, it's true. For example, it is good to verify that no children have access to gambling (is is now being discussed in my country whether it would be advisable KYC to see porn, with a strong interest followed mainly by the feminists). But not for money laundering, because under suspicion of being guilty, the police can find a criminal without having to impose mandatory identification to every citizen.

I still think that there must be a way to probe online that you are an adult without giving away all your personal data. Maybe the blockchain could hold this info cyphered, so anyone could sign a message for example to prove that he is 18+.
622  Local / Primeros pasos y ayuda / ¿Por qué la gente debería usar direcciones SegWit? on: December 05, 2023, 11:32:52 AM
Autor: 1miau
Hilo original: Why people should be using SegWit addresses

PrefijoCategoryFormato
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________
1…Dirección LegacyP2PKH (pagar a hash de clave pública)
3…Dirección MultifirmaP2SH (pagar a script hash)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________
3…Dirección SegWit (nested)P2WPKH-P2SH (pagar a hash de clave pública de testigo - pagar a script hash) / P2WSH-P2SH (pagar a script hash de testigo - pagar a script hash)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________
bc1q…Dirección SegWit (nativa) (bech32)P2WPKH-bech32 (pagar a hash de clave pública de testigo) / P2WSH-bech32 (pagar a script hash de testigo)
bc1p…Dirección TaprootP2TR-bech32m (pagar a tap root)

Una explicación sencilla sobre cómo identificar direcciones Segwit la puedes encontrar aquí: BTC addresses starting with "3" what are they ? simplified explanation.

¿SegWit nativo o nested SegWit?

https://transactionfee.info/charts/payments-spending-segwit/

https://transactionfee.info/charts/inputs-types-by-count/

Smiley

Hey Porf!

As BitcoinTalk Community Awards 2023 edition just started, I'd suggest to our group to translate this topic as well.
In case it'll be approved, be aware that the topic was already translated in [Rom][Ger][Por][Ita][Spa][Cro]

Good proposal Gazeta. It would be great because that contest is one of the most important annual events in the forum and, as voting will be open for two months, we have plenty of time to translate it and discuss about the awards in our respective local boards.

If no one has any objection, in the next few days I'll add it to the list.

Edit: 1miau's Why people should be using SegWit addresses topic translated into Spanish and added to the list, btw Wink.

Edit 2: Given the fact that BlackHatCoiner announced that he left the forum we are updating our OP. Good luck BlackHatCoiner, we'll miss u.

Gran trabajo.
626  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] LiveCasino.io Signature Campaign | Sr. Member+ | 100$ p/w, funds escrowed on: December 04, 2023, 06:25:53 PM
It is very unfortunate but I predicted it somehow some time ago, when I refused to get 160$ weekly from a mixer, and stayed with my previous gambling campaign. The last seizure was a clear message.

Regardless what happens with the 2-3 participants you mentioned, thank you Cro2 for the last months in Livecasino: it is always a pleasure to work with managers like you.
627  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Noticias calentitas: otro anunciante del foro incautado. on: December 04, 2023, 06:07:40 PM

628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I could have won bigger. on: December 04, 2023, 06:00:11 PM

Sometimes we just have to accept things the way they are. If you were so sure about the game and the money you have in your hand was not enough, you could have either looked for alternatives to make your wager amount high or, when your friend returns the money, you can replace it back (that one can't be regarded as borrowing because you already have the money somewhere).

I wouldn't advice to do that, because he hasn't got the money somewhere, but a third party, and chances are that his friend doesn't repay.

I will advise you not to feel too bad about this game because gambling is something that always happens sideways most of the time. You can also think of it the other way: if your friend had given you the money earlier and you happen to stake it all and the game loses what you could have been thinking, or assuming as you stake the $0.88 and the game happens to cut, you will have been putting blams on anyone or rejoicing that you did not use the entire amount to gamble.

Yes, you can't be sure about what could've happened if you behaved otherwise, so better not worry too much about what could it have been and focus in something more productive.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: December 03, 2023, 05:32:57 PM
It is quite possible that when young children see their parents checking out the lottery and hoping that they should go this time and win, this delightful mood of expectation of something good is automatically transferred to the children.  And since this happens often, young children also rejoice in this mood of their parents.  And so, as children gradually grow up, they themselves begin to feel such good experiences when they become older.  And of course they also continue to buy lottery tickets.
I think this happens in most families where at least one parent, father, mother or, for example, grandfather regularly buys lottery tickets.
The experience in childhood of seeing their parents check the lottery will make them try to buy the lottery when they are older and they will continue to try when they have not managed to win any prizes. It may be a trivial thing but it can provide experience about gambling to young children who follow what their parents do in buying the lottery. And when people buy lotteries, it may be a normal thing in some places, especially if more people buy lotteries too, so when there are grown-up children buying lotteries, that is no longer something new. However, those who frequently buy lottery tickets should be able to allocate a certain amount of money so as not to disrupt their finances.

I can relate to that story, since my father used to buy a lottery ticket in the way back home from school. He liked to explain me which were his favorite numbers, and how much was the price in things that I could understand, and dreaming about the dear life we would live if we were lucky.

In the present I play from time to time but I think that I'm not following the ritual as I don't have the need to do it every week, and I don't enjoy it as much as him. So seeing the parents play have an effect in the children, but that effect will be different according to different variables also.
630  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bank stops all my payments to exchanges. Now what? on: December 03, 2023, 12:39:50 PM
I'm very sorry OP, your case was very common in Spain a few years ago when my interest in Bitcoin started, so the first thing I did was to ask my bank if there would be any problem with that.

In your case, I agree that your best option is to change your bank, and about the money, I guess that you'll have to wait a little bit to recover it but that it will be solved soon, so don't desperate.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: December 03, 2023, 12:34:56 PM
Big game tonight for Barcelona as they face Atletico Madrid which many considers as the killer of big teams.Barcelona has a very nice odd for tonight game at 2 but it won't be easy for them this time and I fully agree with the bookies with this big odd for Barcelona,I personally have bet on them but I am not that convinced at all.
Barcelona must win this match if they want to get close to Real Madrid and Girona, if they only get 1 point then it is a loss for Barcelona because this is a home match and also an opportunity to improve their ranking and shift Atletico in third place, but Barcelona often does not perform as expected so this it won't be easy for Barcelona.
It's normal that you have doubts about your bet swogerino, the outcome of a match between Barça and Atlético is most of the times hard to forecast. I hope you good luck.

The good thing for the team who wins will be that he will have already cleared a hard rival for the rest of the season, which I'm not sure is the case of Madrid or Girona, and could be beneficial in the future to get sure paints against easy teams while the mentioned struggle with harder games.
632  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling are mainly for rich and lucky mind. on: December 03, 2023, 12:27:01 PM
Gambling is for those who want to entertain putting some money at stake, and to do that you don't necessarily need to be rich nor lucky.

In fact, if you were rich, you should put at stake much more money in order to feel the same thrill, and if you were always lucky, which is not possible btw, then where would the excitement be? I think that gambling is for any person over 18 or the legal age in his/her jurisdiction, who have some money that they can afford to lose, and are aware of the risks implied. Any if he/she pays taxes, then chapeau!
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever been a gambling addict? on: December 03, 2023, 12:18:00 PM
In my case I have never had any episode of gambling in an addictive way. Although I have some interest in the mechanisms of gambling, the act of gambling itself doesn't excite me as much as to get into trouble.

When I was a very little child, a friend of mine gave me as a present a lot of cards of which I had just a few and, a few days later, I played with two boys and lost almost all. It was a very bitter sensation and I recall it somehow when I gamble. I heard sometime that it is not necessarily good to be lucky the first time you play, because it can lead to look for this sensation over and over. In my case, it seems that it happened all the contrary.
634  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The comfort and risk at the top - After doing things the right way why deviate on: December 03, 2023, 12:07:07 PM
I also think that way. The case of a member who starts behaving poorly in the forum when he/she gets a high rank wouldn't be the norm, imo, but the exception. As you said, once you have more to lose, you are more careful too.

Totally. What happens is that these exceptional cases are more scandalous, more striking, and those of us who have made it to Legendary, have been on the forum for years and comply with the rules are part of the routine.

Who is more conspicuous, a profile like mine or yogg's?

Totally. In my years in the forum I have witnessed many cases of members who made a real effort to rank up from zero, and try their best in every of their comments. But rotten apple's aren't exclusive from bitcointalk, so there are some individuals who have more salience, even when they are a minority.
635  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers to be banned on: December 02, 2023, 01:22:38 PM
I just want to do my bit in this topic, and I congratulate the management got the decision made, which shouldn't have been easy. Recent developments advised to be cautious and maintaining this historic agora is a responsibility that deserves to be given good attention. And there is a lot to lose because of greed or simple laissez faire approach when it has been proven than criminals are taking advantage of the situation.

So recently I was quite afraid to log in one day and find that the forum has been shut down, but after this decision I'm more confident in the future of our beloved bitcointalk.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The comfort and risk at the top - After doing things the right way why deviate on: December 02, 2023, 01:08:17 PM
In our daily life, the older you are, the more careful you must be. As a teenager, you do things that you might be ashamed of at the age of 40. In a job, the novice employee is enthusiastic about making changes, but he will follow the same old approach when he reaches management, especially if he is 40 years old or older. Therefore, the higher the account rank, this means that The account has become more valuable and therefore the user will be wary of being banned because it means that all the effort made to make the account better has been transformed with just one click into nothing.

I also think that way. The case of a member who starts behaving poorly in the forum when he/she gets a high rank wouldn't be the norm, imo, but the exception. As you said, once you have more to lose, you are more careful too.

There are a few cases that seem to be kamikaze, yes, and some OGs that seem to have lost their way and behave as if they were omniscient or worse, and we can fill many pages here talking about these guys, but imo that's not something generalized for most members, as I said.

638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot games are a waste of time and money (most of the time) on: December 01, 2023, 06:22:55 AM
Slot games are part of the games which have a negative expected value. It is easy to start playing and takes no skills from your part.

The games are attractive by its colours, animation and sounds which feeds the gambler's mind with good emotions and a sens of winning when actually they are losing money on every spin.

Once a while those specials will roll in, but by the time that happens the player would have already lost a lot.

Visit the land based casinos in Vegas and you will find people stuck on slot machines for days with nothing but losses playing like zombies.

That's my opinion too, and I don't like slots too much either: I prefer the games that make me feel a (sometimes false) sense of control and with slots I lose it in the first spin. I'm putting my future in odd's hands, or worse, algorithm's (if an algorithm had hands).

To be honest, one of my colleagues mentioned migraine and that's what I feel with slots. Maybe it's not so much about control, but about all these sounds and movements: I still like crash, dice and specially bingo, and you don't have much control there either, so I guess that likability towards one or another game is the sum of different prejudices and sensations, apart from cold reasoning and study of probability.
639  Economy / Economics / Re: Imaginary Future on: December 01, 2023, 06:13:00 AM
Do you ever feel like that being after saving or investing for future you forget to live in the present? You don't buy the things you want to or don't go after experiences you want because you'd rather save/invest for future instead.

That's something very intimately linked to personality. There are very impulsive people who aren't capable of saving the most basic percentage of their income just in case, and those who find it difficult to waste in nonsense the money they got thanks to their hard work.

My two best friends are like that: one cannot resist the temptation (whatever it is) and the other one doesn't even have a coffee when we hang out together. So, knowing well the two extremes, I'm well aware that the virtue is in the balance, like Aristotle would've said.

One should save for the future while he's got the tailwind, but not to the extent to sacrifice the present for a future that we take for granted but is not sure.
640  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New here and wants to make some money on: December 01, 2023, 06:05:36 AM
Against all odds, I'm glad to see that other members are taking your sincerity well (the usual answers differ and tend to focus on the fact that newbies should learn first of all and only when they have good knowledge and developed skills can start making money.

As I only see 1 post in your history, it is too early to start making money for you, but take some time to discover different boards in the forum, get used to it and keep writing to engage interesting discussions and increase your activity while you learn, and you'll be on track. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the journey.
