As to the POLL on WO above...I don't plan on selling ANY BTC...but I can see a lot of Altcoins and BTC forks going bye-bye in a big way...assuming

we have an Altcoin Pump also in that same BTC pump ballpark.

(the urge for females of dubious virtue and flashy toys and such...is not enough to keep shiny and flashy altcoins and forks on say a $20k pump)

422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BTC2] Bitcoin 2, BTC Fork 1:1, PoS 🔥 Anonymous ⚡️Instant TX on: August 02, 2020, 06:27:47 PM
It has had both, but no bounty or airdrop going on.

What other forks of bitcoin keep giving out coins? I have only found one Bitcoin Ultimatum coin so far. I am very interested in getting some coins in my wallet. Is there a summary table of all the forks?

Pretty sure BTCU is not a true fork ....for any BTC you have in HODL mode. But feel free to send me a link that states such and feel free to prove me wrong.

I could not find anything much on this with google in that area.

But, as to your point, there does not seem to be any 'true' BTC forks anymore for your BTC HOLD Hoard.....mostly stuff like Bitcoin 2 which are NOT true fork

(or limited to a true fork for a brief few months on launch it seems for a lot of BTC forks now). Anyway, with low volume on all such forks, you likely could not really

get much if anything for them anymore. It seems that all exchanges don't 'purge' sh*tcoins anymore....they just have a 'hard floor' of 7 stats or 0.00000001...thus

As, and EXAMPLE ONLY I've 10 million FJC (Fujicoin a 'dead coin' with like 80 million for sale with no takers) says it is worth for example,

FJC, even though it is deader than dead sh*tcoin that it is, on most exchanges only go as low as 7 sats for value...thus it sits in the basement never to go away

of exchanges even though it is 'worth' nothing with I think around 80-100 million FJC on various exchanges with NO sales in months of any note. Sad So, supposedly, at

0.00000001 x 10,000,000 = 0.1 BTC or approx as of this time at $11,232.14 from www.coinmarketcap.com that 'supposedly' means my hoard of FJC

is worth $1,123.21...in 'REALITY' it is worth absolutely nothing (make me an offer you can frame the nice paper wallet for fun) So, in that FJC has not 'sold' anything of

any note in a year or so. So keep this in mind for all sh*tcoins in general and perhaps 'most' newer and or dubious BTC forks

and or whatever Altcoins....reality, now that exchanges no longer 'purge' dead coins..also applies IMHO, to dead BTC forks or any note from back in the

day. You may be seeing a LOT of imaginary profit vs reality if you just rely on what an exchange tells you for a BTC fork and its worth. Even those from back in the

the day that actually matches BTC for the forked coin. Anyway, as an aside. Damn, I sure wish they still purged 'dead coins' or 'dead coin forks'

like this like back in the day...but likely this is how it is now 'cluttered' exchanges filled with dubious sh*tcoins in 7 sat limbo forever. Maybe Bitcoin Ultimatum is in the

same boat...seems likely, from what I can tell. Be nice to be wrong, I too would like a non-dubious fork of BTC with value...but seems damn unlikely in 2020. Sad

423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: August 01, 2020, 05:37:47 PM
Hello can you tell me when Litecoin will become anonymous? The protocol will change then?

At the current rate for the start of testing will be in the Fall of 2020 I heard maybe...so probably not implemented until Fall of 2021.

Be aware LTC projects are always 'years' behind...so it could be much longer! Sad

Supposedly I have ByteBall if I can find/get the wallet to work. (dubious)
but confused....on the whole Mbyte, etc vs Gbyte and now Obyte what the stuff is actually worth
Gbyte on www.cointracker.io has it at $29.16 or some such
I have (supposedly if the wallet is correct...bookmarked) this address BSUPMTW5TZVI2G2A6HUTG5AUCAKM4YJL
and of course, if the wallet still exists someplace on backup Sad
with supposed bytes whatever the heck that means
how do I convert this to Gbytes?

So confused. Sad

Thanks

Brad

used this calculator? Is this correct? https://convertlive.com/u/convert/bytes/to/gigabytes#118100186390
109.99 Obytes? or approximately according to coinbase today https://www.coinmarketcap.com/currencies/obyte/
as of this momennt $29.16 x 109.99 Obytes = $3,207.31 usd?

Damn. Wonder if I can find the frigging dat file and or wallet on backup.
If not just another 'boat' that sailed away w/o in the great crypto race of trying to catch a boat and missing it (per usual)
thanks in advance

Brad

The project is called Obyte.
The currency is called Obyte Bytes or just Bytes.
Exchanges list price for wholesale amounts and the ticker is GBYTE.
1 gigabyte is 1 000 000 000 bytes. byte (smallest unit), kilobyte (10^3 bytes), megabyte (10^6 bytes), gigabyte (10^9 bytes) are like SI units, 1000 times the previous.
So, 118 100 186 390 bytes is 118.100186390 gigabytes, but BSUPMTW5TZVI2G2A6HUTG5AUCAKM4YJL has 18 100 186 390 bytes, so that's more like 18.100186390 GBYTE

Bitcoin has it even more confusing:
Project is Bitcoin, currency is Bitcoin, ticker is BTC or XBT.
1 Bitcoin is 100 000 000 satoshis (smallest unit on mainnet, LN goes smaller) and nobody actually knows what units are between largest and smallest.
byte
thanks..now to if I can even have a wallet re-fixed again is debatebale from a hd backup..stuff to do..so figure $30 a Gbyte at around 18.1 obytes...well that is about

(from todays $$$) $540 bucks...so win/lose...I've done worse on sales of btc/crypto/whatever dubiousness since 2013. Smiley

Again thanks

Brad

Soooooo I have to grow some glasses??

Tis, a great mystery on how much BTC you HODL the more 'attractive' you become..(as seen from above nerds in the picture)....just something about

you get a certain amount of BTC and suddenly attractive females 'bend' to your tech prowess? That must be it, right? Can't be the cash if you sold your BTC

because as a HODL'er you never will. So logic would dictate that the above attractive females must have suddenly been struck by your mind and foresight

in HOLD'ing BTC.....yep, 'crypto prowess' that must be it. Smiley

427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LSK] Lisk | Blockchain Application Platform for JavaScript Developers on: July 30, 2020, 06:43:04 PM
I can tell you Lisk bag holder's are the joke of them all, they're just don't want to admit it. From having 15,000 Bitcoin to now just having 2,500 Bitcoin and still offer nothing. The good thing is Max made out hundreds of millions dollars, which is very good for a kid pretty much is still breastfeeding his mom. Isn't he's like 17 or 18 about 4 years ago when Lisk come out? He's seem and look that young and he's making every decision for Lisk.

They only dedicate themselves to burning the money they have "earned", when the fall comes, it will come, the blow will be tremendous.

Yeah, from what I can tell..it is 'delegates' printing LISK and then to BTC ASAP and the founders..well, they made their millions...so as of now

they are treating it as a hobby IMHO. IF/When BTC was to take off and say Altcoins like LISK were to follow, MAYBE they would be more

motivation. As it is now, the only motivating factor is to keep your delegate spot...although if you say number 33 or something on the 101

the list you probably don't have to do anything...or even payout as that big a delegate whale.

I think also, the halving coming up with LISK will likely just mean more LISK to BTC delegate mining payouts to BTC as a result of this halving

We will see, but color me not impressed with the project...just seems to toddle along sideways for years and years and hell I hodl Siacoin and

LISK seems to be in more dire straights than that somewhat 'dubious' project! Ack! Smiley
428  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 29, 2020, 03:17:17 AM
I myself ...probably simplistic view...but I think that the PayPal considering BTC/Crypto is the main reason for this pump

by the time it sunk in and was not dismissed by PayPal...which is a first on such speculation...

anyway....that got the ball moving this month...other stuff followed IMHO.

https://expressdigest.com/paypals-entry-into-cryptocurrency-is-a-giant-step/

When and if eBay was ever to take this via PayPal..this would be huge worldwide..in that no one would care about some guy with no bank

and no credit card etc in the Ivory Coast wanting to buy something off of say www.newegg.com with BTC, because the security is the

BTC itself, not banking info and credit cards, etc as per usual. Which is outside the realm of most developing countries folk.

No corrupt Ivory Coast banks to bribe or go through....(maybe iffy postal service) that would be huge..lots of do-dads someone from a developing nation

could get with BTC and PayPal with that option worldwide that is locked out of their grasp now...even with a modern cell phone service, snd BTC connected Paypal.

Anyway, what started the PUMP for BTC IMHO ...admitted scrutiny now by PayPal for a BTC option on their platform.

(hell, I'm probably wrong but a guy can dream about fairy-dust/rainbows and unicorn farts...right?) Smiley

Anyway my 2 satoshi view

Now that the price is above $10K, I can now contemplate that maybe, just maybe, it won't go below $10k ever again.

Of course, I'm likely delusional in my 'daydream' of such a BTC/Crypto world...of Rainbows/Fairy-Dust/Unicorn Farts...

but hey, it is a nice daydream! $11K is my 'actual' 'happy place' for 'obvious' math reasons...but again I'm likely

delusional on the 'Bitcoin Pump Fumes' Smiley Fun to dream though. Smiley

431  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: July 27, 2020, 07:40:19 PM
A 'floor' of above $11k from now till the end of time is what I need to 'not worry about such much' from now on..that is my 'safe' place for price. Smiley

hey, so I'm 'girly' about my HODL/HOARD... but that would be my 'always' comfort zone as far as price...anything under that and I'm still bit 'miffed' or course it is an arbritray amount and 'fencepost' in my mind...but when above $11k for obvious math reasons most should be able to figure out..anything above $11K till the end of time, compared to when I started with BTC in 2013..would be my 'happy place indeed!: Smiley

(ah, daydreaming is nice....)

Brad

At $18,500 BTC say, I'd 'dump' all my altcoins for safety reasons..due to past 'corrections' on such BTC pumps/jumps..now what I do with such... spend the Altcoin money on dubious women of low morals or trips or fast cars or bitcoin I'm not sure..but from 'daydream' point of view at an $18,500 BTC price, I would not be 'sweating' the BTC HOARD/HODL situation much anymore..in that is well above my $11,000 'happy place'

Again....back to daydream of this pump until BTC 'you merciless' bitch dumps back to $9k or something to bust my balls'. Anyway, I celebrate while I can. The ways of BTC/Crypto are mysterious to me! So I take my 'happiness' of pumps while I can to store against 'dumps' ..but maybe, just maybe, $10,000 is the new floor that BTC will never go under again. (I know, tis, stupid ..but be still my heart!....rainbows/unicorn farts and fairy-dust aside!)

432  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Using Cointracker.io btc/crypto public addresses options limited. Any better? on: July 27, 2020, 07:31:57 PM

Here is the link, it is free to use! www.cointracker.io

Also if you have wallets that are NOT public, like say Siacoin, supported by the site, you can setup you HOLD/HOARD manually in wallets.

Anyway, I got the 'paid' version finally with a few more options, I don't have any interest in their paid tax calculator options, but this is a very

a handy site to have all your coins show up and forked coins etc for access and a daily email on changes..for combined price of all! With a daily or real

time total as the free option! Pretty fun to see the free email show up of my total  BTC/Crypto worth today, with the pump over $10k BTC again! Knock Wood! Smiley

Pretty slick free site options, IMHO. Smiley

Check it out. A nice little tool to keep track of HODL/HOARD of BTC/Crypto/Altcoins/etc for worth daily by email or whenever you wish to look.

Again the above is under the FREE option just for making a free login account.

Enjoy!

Brad

Jan 2012 registration date here Smiley.

Love seeing the old folks still excited to hit 10k again. This run should be magnificent. I know we say it a lot, but July 26th/27th may be the last time to buy 4-digit coins.

Go to the local exotic dancer place...explain you've been into BTC/Crypto for 7 years and how the worth of BTC/Crypto had skyrocketed...for some reason after such

an explanation you are more attractive and have now made "many' new and attractive and 'interesting' friends! Not sure how prudent this is, but hey, this will likely make

you feel a lot better about your 7 years on www.bitcointalk.org as a result! Smiley

437  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: It is 2020 time for a new diff thread. on: July 25, 2020, 10:03:37 PM
Do you really think Bitmain and the rest are gonna release anything new of any Algo flavor BTC/Crypto or otherwise even beginning of the 2021 year? I just can't see it.

I can see however them continuing the design aspects of any flavor of BTC/crypto for machines and sitting on such and/if when BTC/Crypto was to pop in price...THEN release such. But I think all this, with the pandemic and all, from a manufacturing point of view would be as they say from a 'dead stop'.

From what I understand, no matter how confident you are or how many chip platters you get for your ASIC chips there is a 3 month lead time to pull the trigger. Now assuming I'm right and most ASIC makers are sitting on their hands right now...we would need a pretty good pump to pull such off, like, IMHO above 11-12K for sure and 'stable' at that point, again, IMHO, as in the past the 'dreaded' 3-month pre-order (or more) and the above $3k price for any flavor of BTC/crypto ASIC would come back into play...and of course, as in the past, during that 3-month or more pre-order places like Bitmain and the rest will be filling up their data halls and driving up the difficulty, to fill their own empty ASIC coffers first. Again, the 'bad old days' of ASIC mining with a lot more risk and a lot less profit. Just saying I've seen this song play at least TWICE with various ASIC makers of any flavor Algo in the past. So myself, I don't see anything even potentially being able to MAYBE speculate on of any crypto/BTC flavor ASIC till at least Fall of 2021 at best. This is also wildly optimistic in my view.

I could be wrong.....but the big guys/manufacturing/ASIC makers are 'hunkering down' and it will take them more than a bit to 'rev up' again with the corresponding 'moon' to get them off the pad. We will see, hope I'm wrong, but damn the 'tune and music' is so damn haunting and familiar! Smiley

Trump is speaking in an elaborate code but his message is crystal clear.

"Person, Woman, Man, Camera, T.V....." Shocked

He is saying he knows he will lose on Nov. 3, but that's good because Bitcoin Hyper-Bull Season is about to begin and he wants out of his blind trust so he can buy coins.  Grin

Just to translate a small piece, Camera = 10k in August, 20k this year, 100k+ next year.

Not sure...but I'm pretty sure Trump is NOT in a Blind Trust...thus the Supreme Court Case. (correct me if I'm wrong folks on here) ...

as to the 'code' idea ...he talks and walks like and idiot..that should be 'code' enough! (IMHO..its the USA you can think what you want about who you want) Smiley

439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 22, 2020, 02:09:22 PM
KNC did, however it's funny to read old posts about ROI. If you just mined like hell, paid the electric bill, and buried your wallet in a closet you would have done well even with a negative ROI at the time.

Interesting.

But then again, depending on your costs that time, it would've maybe just been better to buy coins directly.

Would have been true...except that the KNC TItan was the last large scrypt miner made before the drought of 2014 when the LTC price was like $1.80..indeed that whole year my tagline

on www.bitcointalk.org was something like on 2014: "MY never to ROI, piece of sh*t Titan KNC 5th grade Science Fair Project of dubious crap. FML' Something like that.

What saved Maxumark and myself was the fact we were one of the few to get KNC Liguidation Auction KNC miners 5 cubes new ..so that is how we scored...but other than

that and hodl'ing LTC mined and sold for BTC you are probably correct....though I sold most of my LTC to BTC under $3 as things went along..I made 12,698 or some such LTC on lifetime on

www.litecoinpool.org So you do the math...ah so many boats missed......but again you are probably correct except for the longtivity of the Titans and later Garlicoin and Fujicoin (before FJC

went defunct and worthless) I think I got 4 plus years of profit out of about 12 Titans all but ONE picked up used....in fact in Feb of 2014 I picked my 2nd titan up for like $50 over shipping

from a guy in the outback of Australia I think maybe it was $180 to ship it ....he could not run it in the heat there...that was when we thought at around $10 LTC all those bigger machines were

supposed to come out and we figured this unit would be worthless by summer so I got it as a toy on the off chance i could mine oddball other crypto in summer at likely a loss

then all them mnfg's at around $2 LTC bailed and for the next couple years? (?) the KNC Titan used was the best deal and biggest miner in town till the Bitmain L3 (which when launched you could

only get from China not the states at first..another story)

but again, then as of now, buying btc/crypto of whatever flavor is probably the wise move...that or POS/masternodes..me thinks POW might be dead in the future Sad

I am looking at the cycles from Spring 2018 to now . A new rise seems to be there within a few weeks. I feel like the MimbleWimble implementation coming September will help to put the price up.

What is MimbleWimble >>https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MimbleWimble  (Blocks in Mimblewimble have all their constituent transactions aggregated into one giant transaction, erasing the original transaction boundaries)

I thought only the TEST will be up in September...the actual launch will be well into 2021 I'm afraid....so don't expect much with LTC seems the norm. Sad
