With Bitcoin rising and Okcash increasing the exposition and adoption rate, it starts to attract the attention of different companies, websites, and online shops. Recently, it attracted the attention of a web hosting company called discreetwebhosting — Discreet & Anonymous Web Hosting. They got their company and services registered to the OKMap, their first step into adopting and accepting Okcash.

Oktoshi do you plan to replace Berkeley DB 4.8 with newer version? Is there any special reason that OKcash is still on this version?

q= Is there special reason that OKcash is still on DB 4.8.30?

a= Backward compatibility and Licensing protection for all the users (MiT vs Agpl from new BDB versions).

q= Plans to replace DB 4.8.30 with newer version?

a= bDB instead of being upgraded to a newer version should get replaced/moved to a db with permissive license or
ideally should get replaced with internal append only (logdb). We follow the work jonasschnelli is doing in this way for Bitcoin,
so the most probable way OK will take will be the most secure one, the second choice.

OK is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls OK and everyone can take part.

Thanks for quick info. I am hoping for second choice. Less fuss while compiling wallet and no need to downgrade DB version on linux for compatibility reason...

First Okcash Embassy in the world is now ready for business

I'm pleased to announce that the very first OKCash Embassy website has been created for the community.

http://okcashembassy.ca

The OKCash Embassy offers multiple services.

  • We provide information about, what is OKCash, how to start and were to get some.
  • We can inform you about public ongoing projects and where to meet the community behind them
  • The Canadian Embassy, also provides a *peer-to-peer trading point

This is the Canadian OK Embassy and I encourage everyone that wants to take the time and commitment
to have their own Embassy to do so for their Country.

Every OK Embassy can be different and if you make it in your own language, it's even better! Having an embassy
with different languages will increase the awareness and will be easier for foreign people that doesn't speak English
or barely, to have the information in their language.

If you don’t wish to add trading OK with your Local Fiat currency, you don’t need to have the trading pages.

OK is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls OK and everyone can take part.

To be able to mine/stake OK, you need to full blockchain on your device. Right now no mobile wallets allows you to stake your coins. If you are looking to stake with a very low electricity fee, you can acquire a Raspberry Pi or a PINE64 and install ROKOS on it. This will allow you to stake at about 12W per hour if I remember well.

The 69% is over been a while. We had an halving in January from 20% to 10%. The current yearly % is updated on the first page of our thread.

ROKOS is a Bitcoin and OKCash fullnode IoT OS. It's a full size OS currently available for Raspberry Pi and PINE64. Downlaods and information can be found at https://rokos.space.
