I am new here. Does spreadcoin reward people who run a bitcoin full node? or is this just a rumor?

That's the goal. It is in the road map. However, Georgem, the lead developer is currently working on a decentralized block explorer along with service nodes. Initially, when service nodes come out, we will be testing on alt coins due to smaller blockchains. After that we will move on to rewarding full BTC nodes. Georgem should be giving a more in depth overview of where everything stands fairly soon I think. Welcome!

Thank you for the explanation. I particularly like the reward idea of spreadcoin. Speaking of that I have been recently starting my own btc full node but it's still sync'ing lol.

Of course! Hopefully syncing doesn't take longer than a week Tongue

We are all excited to see what Georgem births  Grin

There is a white paper on that. Plus see the OP and the first few posts after the OP

http://spreadcoin.info/news/proof-of-bitcoin-node-white-paper/

What I and others would like to see is 4000 full bitcoin nodes on Spreadcoin service nodes.

Servicenodes providing Professional high quality bandwidth serving the growing Bitcoin infrastructure.

4000 would mean SPR owners maintain what, like 60% of the total Bitcoin nodes?

Something like that.

That's how you get the network to sustain itself, the data aspect becomes a source of revenue. Being the backbone of the bitcoin network makes the data valuable.

I'm trying to understand the SPR Service Nodes, is it going to be something like this?

The Blocknet's #decentralised exchange now supports Bitcoin!

So, I contacted coinmarketcap about the bug they are having with Spreadcoin.

It probably has something to do with the now defunct spreadx.eu. (I removed all links to it from the official spreadcoin sites)

Told them to use https://chainz.cryptoid.info/spr/ instead.

Let's see how long it takes them to fix that.

I just can't help myself asking... Did georgem ever keep to his promise to release an update on his progress or are we still guessing?  Huh

No idea. Georgem? Any news to share? Would be great to have a progress update. It has been quite a long haul since January when we received our last one! Grin

P.S. I will be taking some data science courses in the coming months, so I am hoping to be able to help out once SNs have some data to play with Cheesy

You are right, it's about time, I'll try and give an overview of all the "fields of work" that keep me occupied right now.
Will do that this week,...

Nothing, really?!?

How long has it been since a update? This project is dead!

I just were reading more about the coin and looks like were still not at breakthrough 1 ?

Georgem is there a reason why your not looking for additional developers to speed up the process, cause the biggest feature would
be the bitcoin node support. That can make this coin really great and fun for many people.

The Bitcoin blockchain is now approaching 100GB.

By the time of the next halving it might be approaching 1TB.

Who will run full nodes?

Think about that for a while.

Then think about the current price of SPR.

Exactly.

I don't have much time right now to go into everything, but here's an early preview screenshot of the upcoming CORE wallet.

It's quite the construction area, so the design will most likely change, and much is still missing. But the general layout is now clear.

Stay tuned, I'll go into the design changes (and what they mean) over the next days.  Smiley

There was a really interesting discussion within the DASH thread, actually the Darkcoin thread, about releasing crypto that could be used for all sorts of reasons.

But, i think Georgem was on to something with this post

I hear you.

But this is a public space.

If this was my house (like spreadcointalk, or spreadcoin.info) I would have deleted any pics of such flags immediately.

But I always looked at these BCT threads here like some sort of wild west, a lawless jungle.
With horrible, venomous creatures, you wouldn't want to touch with a ten feet pole.

Sometimes the best way of how to fight poison is with another poison.

Since this is a jungle, lets see how the moderators will react if I do this:

Looking forward to the wallet release as well. It appears that the explorer tab is being included? I guess we'll find out what it all means soon Cheesy

On a side note, it would be really nice to have Gladimore back and updating the Spreadcoin Twitter. It has a rather large audience and would be good to get some updates posted there when the time comes. I could begin a new Twitter but it would be nice to use one that already has a following. Does anyone remain in contact with him?
