If you missed the original coin swap that happened back in 2015 you wont be able to use your old wallet.dat in the current client because it is a totally new coin.The coin swap was controlled by Poloniex so we wont be able to assist you here.You are welcome to contact Poloniex but the old blockchain is dead afaik so it would be impossible to validate those coins now.

How old is your wallet.dat?If it is just an old wallet on the same chain/coin we are using presently it should still work.

So i still have this question, will the coins still stake whilst my computer is turned off/sleeping ?

so far my coins have over 3000 confirms but still didn't make anything..

Update

There are several consensus forks along the way to 0.14 from where XBC is, BIP65, BIP66, BIP68, BIP112 and BIP113 before we finally get to Segwit. We need to get past these other changes first and it is best not to hard fork them. We can do a few at a time, BIP65 and BIP66 together and BIP68, BIP112 and BIP113 together. Then the network will be ready for Segwit but not before those changes are in place.A lot of work is taking place right now but there is a lot more to be done and there may be a need to update clients a few times during the process

They should be ok after 110 confirmations provided they arent reserved for spending or new coins added to mature coins.They should stake eventually and @ 20% in any case.There are a few tutorials on the website www.bitcoinplus.org for more info.
