For the moment I think it's impossible, we all know that the USD is the world's strongest currency, all countries transactions use USD so impossible bitcoin could replace USD.

Of course it is impossible to happen, not only impossible to replace the dollar, but other fiat currencies. Come on bitcoin will not replace any local currency #imo

Bitcoin may be a good asset, a good digital currency, but it will never replace dollars or even many other fiats, bitcoin is volatile, it's price changes every minute, who's country want a currency that's change it's value every single day, that will be bad. Though, it can be used as a alternative payment especially online.

Altcoin has a very large variety, if one disappears, it will appear the other. Altcoin will strengthen the position of bitcoin, but as strong as any bitcoin position, I guess it will never replace the dollar in a short time.

i am thinking the same as you because bitcoin need to do more to replace dollar and bitcoin need to be approve by many country and people using bitcoin for their daily life. we need more years to see that bitcoin is replacing dollars and until that time is come, we only can make money by withdraw our bitcoin into fiat and send it in our local bank.

The dollar has been a global currency since long ago, international transactions use dollars because the dollar is legal and has a security guarantee. While bitcoin is illegal and has no security whatsoever

Never ever, Bitcoin cannot replace Dollar not in this life maybe in next.
The government is already against it many rich people are against bitcoins, Many traders of gold etc are against Bitcoin because Bitcoin is disturbing their business. BTC is no match to USD now. USD is the king of world economy due to wide spread of adaptation. BTC is becoming popular. I bet 95% of world population do not even know about BTC. So who ever adopt the BTC, the sooner the better. But may be one day BTC will replace USD. May be after years. How would that devalue dollars at all when the online currency that they are using is just the digital version of dollars? And if you're going to say that online shoppers are most likely going to end up using bitcoins, then I'm afraid that's not the case. People have been buying stuffs online for so long now. They are all using Paypal, or they do online bank transfer. Very little of them are using bitcoins. Why? Maybe because bitcoins aren't accepted in any online shop. There are some but they aren't that popular. They are not at the same level as Amazon or eBay.

Then there'd be no work for tinkers' hands, as the old proverb goes. Why would people want to stop using dollars unless the dollar gets devalued massively? People are using their bank cards to pay online, but the balances of these cards are still counted in dollars (or some other fiat currency), it is just a new and flashy method of payment using good old greenback. Even if you are using a Bitcoin payment card to make purchases online, payments are still settled with some fiat currency, most likely with the same US dollar

I think the bitcoin owner will prepare for that thing to happen in 10-15 years. Maybe cryptocurrency or bitcoin will be international their money. They make it National money or maybe International money. It is not possible to happen. Bitcoin soon has a strong power in US.

I don't think so. Us dollar is an international and very established money. To many countries (to not tell almost all) have their reserves in their Central Banks mostly in us dollar. Has almost the status of gold. Bitcoin has the qualities of being reserve money (is uninflationable) but I think that it is insufficient to fulfill the requests of all the countries.

If you will look at the term of value and reserved bitcoin is more likely can be used on transaction that may need fiat or the dollars value to developed. And I agree that we also need to consider all countries to accept another universal value such as bitcoin because dollar is a value that can convert on any currency so if we will look bitcoin as a replacement to another currency it may be hard to fulfill because the stock is inflating as people used it in a daily transaction and also bitcoin need more development to achieved. For me bitcoin does not really need to replace bitcoin , I think bitcoin should just focus on developing its transaction and security.

Yeah being the most established currency in the world, there's little to no chance it can be replaced by bitcoin or any other currencies fornthat matter. Not in our lifetimes at least. There would probably be major changes in btc for it at least to pose a challenge to the dollar
