US has one of the biggest economies in the world, they won't be thinking of replacing the dollar with bitcoin. They might completely digitalize the dollar in the coming years though. Bitcoin is far too volatile to be considered as a stable source of money. Bitcoin has great potential and in the near future it will be known by almost everyone.

Not the dollar, no. However the situation in Venezuela is interesting. I'm rooting for an organic transition into bitcoin there.

Of course bitcoin has the aibility to change every important and international currency in the world. This is issue is becoming more and more as a reality and soon a fact. Bitcoin has power and popularity in all over the world so the possibility of replacing the dollar is very predictable.

Bitcoin could replace the dollar if the user continues to increase, according to data that the user is circulating that bitcoin is not more than 1% of the world population, if it could reach 30% then I'm sure the bitcoin can already beat the dollar.
Even if it does, there will still definitely be fiat basis in place for us to know its value or sometimes make transactions unless of course we want to switch totally from crypto to crypto and we both know that will be hard on cryptocurrency itself. I feel both will still go hand in hand eventually and people will then decide which they want to choose to use or how they want to make use of what they have with them. It is an impossible thing that the bitcoins would replace dollar. Dollar is the most highly valued legal currency o the world and it is the national economy type of superpower country. No matter that bitcoins are becoming common day by day and are in excessive use by the people all around the globe but it still has no standard to match with the dollar.

Bitcoin can not replace fiat money. It is not practical. It can be used to store value like the gold does.

I think bitcoin will not replace dollar. In all local fiat dollar is the base currency in the exchange rate of all money in the world. While bitcoin is the base exchange rate of all alt coins.

Bitcoin cannot replace dollar or any other real money becuse real money are used by more than 2000 years and there is no doubt that every single person of this planet know about it. Now it seems impossible for bitcoin to replace dollar , maybe only after 100 years this thing will be taken more seriously.

Nope. I very doubt government will want to relinquish control... As a sub currency it could gain mainstream use but i think there will be much blood before BTC replace the Dollar. Yes, me too! I don't think this possible because I still see majority of the public are using fiat and I see no way they are going dump fiat for bitcoin. Bitcoin also has some issue right now which is "transaction fee" - Bitcoin transaction fee is high, let's say you want to buy grocery or biscuit of kids. just for that you would pay anywhere between $1 - $2 for transaction fee. I see no way people will adopt this and dump fiat because is more cheaper to them. I think both bitcoin and fiat has their roles to play in the future on different directions no one will kill the other.

"Real money" - define ? Because paper bills are only use 1300 years. Before that we used other stuff for payment. Coins are much older. But the Roman soldiers were partly paid in salt. So money is changing during history. History is going fast lately, so if crypto will replace "real money" - only history can tell - in the future. If you look at the dollar, I guess the big influence of dollar in the world is already changing and will become minor within a short time (<20 years)

Yes it will happen. The increase in demand will be calculated and analyzed. If users of bitcoin are even 25% of the world’s population then congratulations you are so lucky to say bitcoin beat dollar. But as you said, right now we are only 1% of population that is familiar with bitcoins, hope we increase and we can beat dollar.

I don't think bitcoin will replace the dollar soon. What I'm sure of is that it will be a viable and feasible option in buy/sell as more and more people are trusting bitcoin or crypto currency.

Yes, bitcoin is just a virtual currency, it does not have the capacity to beat and replace the dollar because the influence of the dollar on the economy is huge, especially the economy of the world, all transactions and investments, everybody uses dollars is primarily. In addition, the reputation of bitcoin was not enough and the bitcoin maker also disappeared, that made many people skeptical about bitcoin and a lot of people still think bitcoin is a scam, bitcoin can be famous and popular but that is just in the internet world, in real life, dollars is still the number one

It will take a lot more time for bitcoin to grow to the stage where it is accepted throughout the world, but even at this stage I don't think it will replace the dollar, I expect that USD and BTC will be used in tandem with one another.

I dont know why people do still think that bitcoin would able to replace bitcoin soon.Havent they realized that replacing USD would really be an impossible thing to happen a centralized thing placed by decentralized? This is why no matter how bitcoin being accepted worldwide it cant replaced local fiat system which is backed by government.Thinking off also that btc is getting value from USD itself which means it is still depending on local fiat too.For now we should not think off on this thing and would rather focused regarding into its adoption.

I doubt if this will happen soon, maybe in the future if we advance in technology, we can replace fiat money with crypto currency. The government wouldn't allow cryptocurrency to take over fiat money because they would lose control over it. The government controls fiat money and since bitcoin is decentralized, it would give them a hard time if cryptocurrency will be the main currency that would be use for transactions. Cryptocurrency is a revolution in the world's economy and finance. I believe the day we change to use cryptocurrency or other currency used blockchain technology will become the most payment method and currency on the world not far.
