I think that could be possible, and if there is a currency that is closest in replacing dollar, that is gonna be nothing else but bitcoin. Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency which has the possibility to ever replace dollar, as of today it has already surpassed dollars in a rate that is just so great I don't think dollar could ever reach that kind of rate or price. |

I don't think so. Dollar is dollar and I bet it's hard to replace it. If bitcoin's value will increase more than what we expect for years maybe it will be possible. But i think it will take years to surpass it. Dollar is controlled by one of the most powerful country and as long as they have the power to create a law and impose it, this would be hard for a decentralized currency to take over the legal currency. He believe it will happen but I don't think he considers how strong dollar is and how limited bitcoin is as well. |

for me it's not the dollar because it's one of the most permanent money in the world anywhere you go with the dollar you see one dollar in the hardest money and not merely convert bitcoin because it's not quite known so it's not too people know or know usd has long been in our world and no bitcoin has a dollar so the dollar could not replace the dollar.

15 years in the future is not impossible if bitcoin will replace the dollar as a benchmark of the international currency, with records before 15 years that all countries in the world have legalized bitcoin in their respective countries |

Anything could happen. Dollar is a universal currency. It will rely on the authorities governing such regulations. Replacing dollar to bitcoin may happen but that change would take years. We cannot immediately replace dollar. |

I don't know if that is possible. I believe that bitcoin will be known all over the world in the future but i doubt about replacing USD with BTC because not everyone can adopt changes in monetary system. That is just his opinion, everyone can have their and even if they believe bitcoin will replace dollar it seems like it's an impossible mission for us backers of bitcoin. Dollar is so powerful and that is the money of a certain country and the central bank won't allow that, they even want bitcoin to be regulated so they will control us. I agree, I think it's impossible to beat the dollar in the near future, nowadays many countries are campaigning bitcoin banned and if this goes on then I'm worried about using bitcoin to be considered a crime. The thing is we never know what will happen in the coming days as future is totally unpredictable. Anything can happen. As far as beating of dollar is concerned, I think that there are likely chances of this thing to happen and soon we can see this thing that dollar is being replaced by bitcoin. The only hurdle is the legalization of bitcoin. Once bitcoin will be declared as legal, things will be very much different. |

In my own opinion, I think that it is not possible to change the dollar to bitcoin currency because everyone in the entire world is using dollars and it is circulating the world bank, So it means that it was a huge change for the entire world if they will swap the currency into bitcoins immediately.

NO i don't think that could happen as cryptocurrency cannot replace the country currency on whatever reasons. The government on the other hand would never let that happen under any circumstances . Replacement of a currency entirely is not a easy task and to implement it throughout could lead to massive loss in world market. |

Trust me its all hoaks and that will not defintely gonna be true because nothing could replace a international currency to a digital currency that does not supports all kinds of stuffs like all billing every little pieces around the would acknowledge the true purpose of dollar even little kids knows about dollars it could not be replaced by a cryptocurrency powered by electronics or servers. We would be depending on gadgets now and it is not so good what happens if hackers can steal all the wayinto that were definitely doomed and there will be more cyberattacks through the internet and probably the system will collapse because it cant keep up to the users or traffics

Nope. I very doubt government will want to relinquish control... As a sub currency it could gain mainstream use but i think there will be much blood before BTC replace the Dollar. I think bitcoin can not replace dollar soon. Because still many people do not know about bitcoin. And there are many millions people who still don't use Internet and than they how can depend on bitcoin. So before the replacement of dollars, there is a urgent need that every person on earth can access the account and they should have a basic knowledge of Internet than they can understand the bitcoins and till they will own the bitcoins. Than there will be chances that bitcoin can replace dollars. Bitcoin has strong potential but it needs and depends on Internet. Without the access of Internet, bitcoin can be used, stored . |

Don't even think the goverment would allow something like that.
It's too risky and they will lose control of the entire economy.
Bitcoin's supply/demand can't be adjusted unlike the dollar, which means they can't stimulate the economy or influence inflation/deflation, which are both prerequisites for a healthy economy.
BTC will probably always be a secondary market and might even be regulated one day, which would be interesting to see.
But that's too far ahead and the different governmental bodies don't know yet how to handle this new technology.. we'll have to wait

I don't think so. Us dollar is an international and very established money. To many countries (to not tell almost all) have their reserves in their Central Banks mostly in us dollar. Has almost the status of gold. Bitcoin has the qualities of being reserve money (is uninflationable) but I think that it is insufficient to fulfill the requests of all the countries. Me too, I dont think that will happen that the bitcoin will replace USD in the future. Government will not let that to happen and I think the world will not yet ready for that. Bitcoin is for digital currency, because it is done online and not applicable in the real world. Aside from that the value of bitcoin is not stable it change oftenly. |

You got a point there, dollar has been around and ruling the world for how many years now, I think its not gonna be replaced by bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies that easily, 15 years is quite fast, bitcoin is being known world wide in a fast rate, but the legal matters of it is gonna drag cryptocurrencys popularity, so I think its not yet gonna happen anytime soon. |

This topic was posted in year 2015, and we are now in year 2017. Two years has passed and bitcoin is becoming more and more recognizable in people eyes and as it progress a lot of people become more interested in bitcoin. But though bitcoin is becoming trending each day, still dollar remains to be the money we consider to have and not bitcoin. Although we may exchange the bitcoin to dollars but it will not be btc as is only because dollar is handled by the government while btc is not. And government has the biggest say regarding what money is the most relevant and acceptable in our daily use. Not even in 15 years I imagine that dollars will be replaced, not even later than 15 years or so. |

Never happen. Because the strength bitcoin as a currency can't reach all areas in various countries. And there are some countries that clearly prohibit bitcoin. So, until when bitcoin will remain as King of digital currency.

I'm not sure that bitcoin will replace the dollar soon, which we must remember is the world's largest and strongest dollar currency, almost all trade between countries using dollars so bitcoin will be difficult to replace the dollar in the near future.
