Because they will need to bring at least one centre-forward to the team in this case. Even one might not be enough in the long run thinking of injury or suspension cases as well. Inter will likely think that signing Lukaku won't help the team and that he is about to get old, but it will be much more exciting to watch Lukaku perform in Inter Milan than when he was at Chelsea.
Next season, Inter Milan will compete in the Champions League. Although I think the squad can succeed without Lukaku, in my opinion, he deserves a better environment like Inter Milan.

It is never a good idea to compare players with each other when they are totally different types of players and even in general you have to look at the age individually. Players with outstanding performances at age 37 are, well you can guess it, outstanding. Modric, Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, all those players have had different physical conditions than some players who retire at the age of 33. I doubt that Lukaku will still be a top scorer in European leagues in 7 years from now. I can't be sure, but I doubt it. For now extending the contract makes sense.

Don't say a player is not looking at the money or must play in Europe, it's all about your choice, and mind you, some people choose poorly whether you like it or not, but it's their choice. And this still doesn't mean he would not get the offer next year as he only extended his contract by a year with Real Madrid, why not more if he so sees this the way you narrated?

Well he is that type of player, but if he gets in that form he will be unstopable. I think he will stay at Inter. Only one who could make peak Lukaku is Pinturis but he is now in Real.

Alegri didn't have a bad performance in Juventus and he got good results with his team the only reason why Alegri and his teams couldn't get the place at the top of the table was mostly because of the points they lost this season due to the penalty and this penalty definitely had a bad effect on this team atmosphere, otherwise, they could get the ticket to the champions league.

Yes, winning a prestigious title is a dream for every player, and Luca Modric has earned it with Real Madrid, but that doesn't just make him satisfied and he still wants to wear a Real Madrid uniform when he is no longer young as he is today. And also he is showing a good game to make Real Madrid still want him to be on the list of squad names that will go through the next season. And also his ability on the pitch with his old age still really deserves to be in the squad.

Lukaku has hinted he doesn't even want to stay at Chelsea. I think his performance in the Champions league final in which he was in the way of a goal bound ball, and also missed an opportunity to equalize still haunts him.
Perhaps with Inter still looking able to get to the final again, he could redeem himself.

The case of Luka Modric rejecting to join the Saudi Arabian club at his age is still a big surprise to me because the player is good no doubt but going there he will be offered more than a two years contract and he's going to earn more money than the amount he's been paid in Real Madrid and he can still come back to any team in Europe as a free transfer before officially retiring from playing football. It's obvious he's not playing for the money anymore and he's still believes that he has a lot of work to do in Real Madrid and helping them to win more trophies is definitely going to be he's goal anyway because he has really done well for the them.  Good to see a player who have chosen his team over big money it shows the love he has for the team and good football.
