I am not very concern about Union Berlin,  I am more surprised about Leipz and Freiburg who initially seemed formidable an later depreciated in ability.
German Bundesliga is not an easy league.3 wins Two lose and a draw is not too bad for  union Berlin.  at least they have fought so well this season and if they are not able to retain the second position as they were in the starting of the season, they will probably be in the top 4 or will qualify for the Europa league next season.

IMO, this match will be tough for the home team. the reason is, they will play another match against Chelsea four days later. meaning, Edin Terzic's attention will be divided into other matches. because the match in the second leg later, will be quite heavy for Dortmund who will play at Chelsea headquarters. plus, some of their important players are still suffering from injuries. based on this, it is our consideration that Dortmund will not play all hard in the match against Leipzig. but that does not mean, Dortmund will not target full points in this fight.

I agree with you. Although Union Berlin have to win against Köln to avoid falling further down the table. They also need another win to build up their self-confidence.
I was surprised that Freiburg did not win against Leverkusen. They have to win against Mönchengladbach now to have a chance to reach place 4 at least.

It is weird how Reis turned Schalke into a team with such a strong defense. That is a riddle to me. They started with 1:10 goals after the winter break and everybody thought that this is going the same way it ended before the World Cup started. If they keep going like this even with their draws they will have a chance. A chance which nobody thought they could get close to this season.

Hoffenheim is in a free fall and Bochum are back to losing many games as well after they recovered for a short time. For Leverkusen and Hertha these upcoming games are also essential way markers for the rest of the season. If Wolfsburg loses they can at least temporarily stop dreaming of the Europa League and Leverkusen, in case they are losing, should take care of not getting even lower.

Well, if they didn't had such a terrible start, they could have been out of the relegation zone by now, and they do not have a great roster so they are playing pretty defensively right now and park the bus all game. Yes, if you look at their meeting record, it is indeed an advantage for them. But I suggest not to be too confident about their meeting record, because every match will be jah different than usual. I'm also actually on Borussia Dortmund's side to win the game, but Borussia Dortmund also have to be careful with their opponents because they can make a big surprise. Moreover, RB Leipzig is one of the strongest clubs in the Bundesliga.

This is not really what I was surprised about. They park the bus, yes of course. But I was wondering about the timeline of events in terms of their defensive game. It wasn't like they only conceded a goal here and there and lost because they were unlucky. They conceded loads and loads of goals every game. Out of a sudden they stopped conceding goals altogether for four games in a row and then even won the fifth game, making it five consecutive games without losing. That doesn't usually happen by chance, but to my surprise I saw that it was the same coach conceding 10 goals during the first three games and then he changed something and they conceded 1 goal in the following 5 games!

That is quite an unusual development and this is why I think that they could have a realistic chance to make it happen. At least they can make it to the 16th rank and then get the chance to play against the 3rd of the 2. Bundesliga.

Regarding Union Berlin, they started the season very well and they are even racing with Bayern Munich and Durtmond while comparing to these two teams they don't have strong teams and they didn't invest like them for this season, so if you ask me I can say they already performed better than we expected from this team so far while they are still on the top of the table with three points less than the first team.
