I think it is always good for teams to play several competitions because there is something to look forward to, but in the case of Union Berlin it might be good that there is the Bundesliga only now. They are out of the DFB Cup and now their Champions League adventure came to an end as well. The mission is set in stone now: avoid relegation into 2. Bundesliga. When you see them playing in the Champions League, it was quite good at times and they don't deserve that far down in the table. I think they will still climb a few ranks, but I don't expect big surprises from here on.

Not all teams have strengths that can be shared in several matches because sometimes they need a special team that is ready to be used to play attack and aim to win, and there are also teams that are used to defend because they may want to use all their attacks in the final round, but in the end In reality, Union Berlin is still unable to do that, so their strengths cannot be shared, and they have to remain focused on one competition.

Im not feeling good with union berlin right now. The club is not yet fully recovering from the bad performance. We have not yet seen berlin to get win streak for the several matches in a row. The performance of berlin in UCL and bundesliga have proven that berlin is still in a bad shapes.
It has not made good progress. It was almost winning the game against madrid but since we do know that how strong madrid int he previous match and it can also give us a small insight if berlin has its main problem in the defensive line.
I can put some applauses for the attacking lines but the defensive line has become the main problem owned by berling right now. The club is not yet performing like what it used to be.
It's a setback for berling to go out from UCL this fast. Unacceptable result for all of berlin fans.

Last season, Union Berlin performed quite well in the Bundesliga and they could had the opportunity to compete in the UCL this season, but they did not show better progress but rather poor performance which meant that Berlin could not get single win in the UCL.
Union Berlin also cannot appear in the Europa League this season and can only play to focus on the Bundesliga, but the final hope in the Bundesliga is also not very good because during this season it started with 13 matches, getting 9 defeats with only 3 wins.
Meanwhile, Union Berlin standings are in 15th position with only 10 points, Berlin is experiencing really difficult problems this season.

There is no longer any hope for Union Berlin and they can only look forward to next season if they want to see them change and show good progress.
In the match against Real Madrid, they no almost win but almost held draw, but in the 89th minute Dani Ceballos managed to score a goal which made the situation change to Real Madrid lead 2 - 3.

In the attacking game, all players from midfielders and strikers can play competitively and it not that bad and the defense line really needs improvement so that in the future they can be stronger up front and also at the back.
The defense line is very important for football squad because really strong defense line can withstand or prevent defeat from occurring.

Union Berlin just needs to focus in every match so as not to lose a lot of points like at the start of the season when they experienced consecutive defeats.
Union Berlin has experienced 9 defeats so far and looking at last season's statistics, the team in the European zone lost 12 times, so Union Berlin has a chance at least to get a place in the conference league but that is not an easy thing because it means they have to win a lot of matches and every one defeat will make the opportunity smaller and so on.
The Champions League doesn't seem like a competition that suits Union Berlin's strengths, maybe the European league or conference league would be better for them and could do more than the Champions League where they were only able to achieve two draws from six group stage matches.
However, improving your position in the Bundesliga will be very important as well as focusing on the next match against Bochum so as not to lose points.

In group C, there are more challenging matches to watch and I wouldn't be surprised if Union Berlin starts picking good form and winning upcoming matches in Bundesliga, they're no longer in UCL so the team's attention is not longer divided. In last 11 matches, they have only one win and now exit from Champions League without any win mean things are not good for them in this season even they are now out of the relegation jail but still they need to bring improvement if they want to have anything positive from this season their next game is against another struggling club Bochum which is having 2 wins and 7 draws in this season.

Now we are having rumours about few changes in coming transfer window which is essential for the improvement otherwise we can have more troubles for them in coming weeks even most chances now they will stay in bottom clubs but still they need to be stable if they want to have another season here in Bundesliga.

In fact, their elimination from the European stage is not a good thing, but on the contrary, it certainly affects the mentality and self-confidence of this team, especially the Union Berlin team, which is very, very worse this season when compared to last season.

Yes being knocked out of the Champions League allows them to focus more on the Bundesliga, I know they are disappointed about that, but they also have to look at the positives because in the Bundesliga they are still struggling and now they are only one level above the relegation zone. Leverkusen is definitely going to do something great this season in the bundesliga and aswell in other leagues where they are participating along side. Bayern Leverkusen seem to be aiming to get multiple trophies by the end of this season because they just keep staying at the top of almost every league where they are participating in this season.

Currently in the Europa, they are putting out a really good performance tonight and are leading by a very good number of goal of which they are definitely going to get complete points by the end of the match, so far they stand unbeaten aswell and are definitely aiming to win the league, even the team that seemed like they would have looked like their biggest contender in the Europa (Liverpool) is appearing weak so the chances of Leverkusen seem to further increase, hopefully they will be able to get two or more trophies by the end of this season.

The Europa League is tough but becomes very easy for clubs that knows what they're doing. Leverkusen can fight for survival but they can't lack the mentality to win their oppositions this season. Bayer Leverkusen is currently stationed as the best club in the world  of Bundesliga football, they're unbeaten in 14 games played this season, incredible performance from the club. Xabi Alonso is doing a nice job by implementing outstanding performance for the club, they're currently doing their best to maintain unbeaten run and becomes very very aggresive in matches this season.

Bayer Leverkusen is having 14 matches unbeaten streak in Bundesliga and their streak in this season is 6 matches winning streak in Europa League as well which making them special under Xabi Alonso and best German club in this season as well with this performance things are looking impressive, and they clearly have chance for the double as well which could be the biggest gift for their fans as well after years they will be able to celebrate massive success.

Right now, they are having two draw matches streak with their next game is against Frankfurt which can bring them another three points and this could be enough for them to stay at the top of league table until match which is coming after break and this could be good psychological advantage against their toughest opponent Bayern Munich which is currently at the second spot with having one match in hand and difference is four points.

The team that the previous season was able to penetrate the top 4 in the Bundesliga but now they have to fight to escape the relegation zone. This was completely below my expectations. It's very sad that they have performed so poorly this season. I don't know if it was because they were competing in the Lica Champions that it caused them to be in lower performance in the Bundesliga because the players were tired. But it seems like that can't be the reason. But if I look back a few seasons, is this the first time Union Berlin has played in the Champions League?

Bayern Munich and Dortmund have a lot of chances to survive and compete until the quarter-finals, but I don't doubt Leipzig that much if the teams they will be facing are not too tough.

 Now they'd be onto the domestic league race and on the standings, they're just a point out of the relegation zone and they've got work to do in ensuring that they don't decline in performance or points too. For the top teams in the same league that's advanced to the next stage of the European contest, they've got what it takes to keep up with the contest no doubt and hopefully they'll get to the final stage, it won't although be an easy ride.

Last season, Union Berlin was able to show the best performance in the Bundesliga so that they could take part in Europe's biggest competition, namely the UEFA Champions League and this season is the first opportunity for Union Berlin to compete there against big clubs from other leagues. Indeed, Union Berlin is in the group quite heavy and perhaps this is what caused pressure for them so that they experienced a very drastic decline in the domestic league because they were unable to stabilize their strength when they had matches with a busier schedule.

After fighting with all their strength, unfortunately they couldn't achieve good results in the Champions League and they also couldn't take part in the European League group stage by placing their position in 3rd place. Being 11 points off the leaders is a gap that will be difficult for them to catch up with and they are now in 5th place with 4 points off 4th place which is now occupied by Leipzig. Having lost some important players in the squad now their decline is very much felt, and I haven't seen any standout players to sell later on. Lol
Borussia Dortmund still have a lot of chances to be in the top 4, but they can't get it easily, because they have to work hard to get back into the ideal comptition. Last season they "almost" won the championship, I think they will do it again this season, but I don't see any sign of it with their current performance.

The previous season they managed to get into the top 4 at the end of the season. But I agree with what you said that currently they are not performing as well as before. Previously they were a team challenging the top 5 but now they are like a mediocre team trying to escape the relegation zone. Maybe now they will be able to focus on the Bundesliga but it's a shame they are having a very bad season here.
