Didn't this covid talk bore everyone enough? Maybe Djokovic would have won 2 more Grand Slams, but they don't even let him play. It's an absurd intervention, as if he was the one who spread the whole virus. Djokovic should sue them. I can't believe that organizations around the world make such unprofessional decisions.
Djokovic will remain a favorite at all Grand Slams he participates in. I hope Nadal returns well from injury and we will watch exciting tournaments again.
What a great tournament we watched while they were both at Wimbledon. If America don't allow him, they will lose themselves. As I didn't watch Australia, I'll skip that one too. Fair play, for everyone.

As it stands, Djoković will not be allowed to play in USA. That means another 1200 points lost since he was in final last year. And that means that we could have arguably one of the best players in top form ranked outside TOP 10 while we have some really mediocre players ranked above him.

This season is turning to be quite a joke in tegards to ATP points.

Is the vaccine madness still going on? I thought it was over (in my country it is, but we have a special position  ). I respect Djokovic more and more for his adherence to principles. And I am sure that the organizers of the US Open need his participation much more than Djokovic needs the US Open, since he has already proved everything.

Right now nothing is clear about the USA because I am reading on different channels there are increase in cases of Covid19 in many countries, and they are again bringing restrictions which are surely bore thing, but they need safety, so they are not allowing peoples those have not vaccinated, so maybe this is again tricky situation for Djokovic which was stopped from Australian Open even he fly to Australia, but they not allow him it's all dirty politics and can happen again in the USA.

Most chances they will allow him in this USA open because now things are changing, and they also need him in this event with some big matches and having good entertainment as well.

As expected Djokovic won the final and now has only one less Wimbledon win than Roger Federer. He is also unbeaten on Centre Court for nine years. He also needs only one more win at the Grand Slam to draw level with Nadal. But as already discussed here, it is questionable if he will allowed to play in New York.

I travel for work quite a lot of times to the USA. The current rules are that you don't need a negative covid test to enter the USA but you need to be fully vaccinated before you could enter. So as Djokovic is not vaccinated and if he doesn't have a medical exemption, than he will not be allowed to enter the USA.

It seems that age has finaly caught up to wawrinka four consecutive losses for him and the last one was today against careno busta, but he was unlucky he faced tough opponents as soon as he was back in form i hope he can recover soon and continue to play tennis atleast for a few more years.

His 3rd loss in the row and he'd always had a tough opponent to play against. So, nothing to generate momentum or give him confidence to keep going. Ah I always liked Wawrinka, to me he always conducted himself well on court and
His one handed back hand was fantastic to watch. He has had a tough draw since
coming back with a number of first round losses against tough opponents. We should
also consider he is 37 years old, older than Rafa so he is in the twilight of his career.

Given the fact that the US Open organisers will be well aware of the fiasco around Djokovic's attempted entry to Australia this year, it seems unlikely they'll make a last minute concession to let him in, and open themselves up to legal challenges, etc. I'd be very surprised if he plays there.

I don't think he will get vaccinated at this point. He has been reluctant from the scratch and avoided at all cost any dialogue on that argument.
I think it's more plausible an exemption from USA rules but also in this case it's something impossible... let's see another drama like AUS? mmm I hope no

Yeah, there's zero chance of him getting vaccinated. He reached the top of the game in large part due to drastically restricting the types of food he eats, he won't put anything into his body that he thinks might pollute it.

It's a shame he won't be in the US, I'd like to see a rematch with Medvedev. We've been denied a few big matches this year for one reason or another. Nadal vs Djokovic in the Wimbledon final would have been another good one.

I don’t think that Djokovic and his team will try to pull of the same stunt they did in Australia, because USA laws are stricture and he could be heavily fined or even jailed for intentionally breaking the law and creating a ruckus. Furthermore I too lament the fact that Nadal vs Djokovic finals didn’t happen, but unless the USA government changes their rule at the last moment we won’t see him irrespective of the rumours that continue to float in the media.

will be interesting to see draws on future tournaments now when Djokovic is at position 7 on ATP list, you would want to miss him in you draw party even if you are top seed
but, ATP has their right to omit points for tournaments, although would be more fair to players (if they wanted to protect players and punish Wimbledon) to omit GS status to Wimbledon

this way, with points, only players are punished

Sure thing The USA government is never been going to change their policy for one person and specially when this person is going to break law which is implemented for safety of many others so with current situation most chances he is not going to play this Grand Slam as we watch in Australia.

Even too many sports persons and media shout about him, but the authorities were strict about their policy, and they not allow him same going to happen here he is going to lose this mega event just because of having no Covid19 vaccine. Most chances he is not going to change his stance about vaccine and never have this, so with this all he is down and out.

It seems very clear that Djokovic will not play at the US Open. But another player is doing everything that he can play. After Alexander Zverev injury at the French Open, he is doing everything he can to play at the US Open. With a bit of luck he might even make it to the ATP tournament in Hamburg next week.

Yeah, better accept for better or worst that Djokovic will not be in the US Open and so it will open the doors for other players to claim this grand slam. And there could be more rank player that can miss the tournament because of covid restrictions and other reasons.

Although there is a US player that is not vaccinated but can play in the US Open.
