so Federer officially retired today after the match with Nadal against Tifaoe and Jack Sock, it was an entertaining and sadly Nadal and Federer lost, we also lost a legend who gave everything to tennis and was one of the greatest players of all time, he started crying right after the match ended and i couldn't myself hold my tears seeing him saying his last goodbye, it always sucks seeing legends retire.

It's still good what Murray shows. It's a shame that his hip went wrong then. He was actually the only man who could make it difficult for Nadal, Djokovic and Federer. The rest didn't make it. He will continue to play tennis and keep trying, but we will never see the old Murray again. I also don't quite understand why he still plays the tournaments, it must be very frustrating to lose against opponents that you won with 2 fingers in your nose a few years ago. Maybe he just likes tennis too much to stop right now. Age also counts a bit. Maybe he should focus on doubles with his brother?

Well Andy Murray back in his prime was really good and he was considered to be part of the four. But once he got injured he didnt comeback fast and didnt win anything so now it is only the big three but Murray made it really hard for them before so its really sad for his hip injury. I wish he would win now at least one trophy

Murray would have probably dominated the top for quite a while if he played during a different era. He still made it hard for them, but of course in terms of titles won he is extremely far behind the top 3 and actually lost the majority of the games against them. His stats against them aren't devastating, but relatively one-sided except again Roger.

Now Roger lost his 2 vs. 2 with Rafael. Tiafoe is in such a good shape that I honestly expected Sock and him to win if they take the game seriously. Was still an exciting match with a close tiebreak.

An era is ending now and it is down to Rafael and Novak to compete for the most GS titles won. If Rafael can win another French Open I think it will be tough for Novak to overtake him. Hopefully some more amazing games between the two to come, but I expect Rafa to have a well-considered schedule with far less tournaments.

These legends have lived for tennis. For most of the young players who are ruling the tennis world at the moment have inspired by these players. I believe he had taken the right decision to retire, because beyond certain point it'll be difficult for them to play causing injuries and undergoing different treatments.

Surely this was a good entertaining match after winning first set they lost second on tiebreaker and then third as well with this lost now World and Europe both are level in points which are 2 - 2 24th September is rest day, and now we will proceed rest of this event on 25th September.

I check about this in last four years all events won by Europe and World never been able to beat them which is very interesting because European quality is surely on its best with three big giants from Europe, and they never allow anyone to beat them in this event. I am feeling sad now we will never have Roger Federer in tennis court as he already announces his retirement from all events with great memories and amazing stuff which he has done during his time in Tennis courts around the world.

He has been one of the most exciting tennis players we have seen in recent years. It was really exciting to see him play, a confidence and skill of other times, in addition to his ways of being a gentleman of another era.... and a good player to bet in each tournament/match Roll Eyes
The new seed players are strong (Sinner, Alcaraz etc) I hope they can have as many victories Wink  as him !

Yeah, we have been discussing already that one day, we will see Federer signing out. And now is the time, he played his last game with his best friend/nemesis in Nadal. At least we are lucky to have witnessed him during his prime, being one of the best tennis players.

So it's about time for the new seed to continue what other great players before them has done. We already have one in Alcaraz, and for sure he will continue the torch. But there are still a lot of young players that can be the next Federer.

I vividly remember that I started watching tennis after hearing his name a lot, and I was impressed not only by his skills on the court but also by his behaviour outside the court. Furthermore the current generation of stars may have the talent, but they lack the ethics that he brought to this game and thus I hope that he’ll find a way to be connected to this sport in some capacity.

mmm personally I am really skeptic about "a lot" of young players that can be the next Federer.
He was an impressive player from the scratch in his first matches...
what is certain, however, is that tennis from a certain point of view has become much faster and more technical, a style of play very "similar" to that adopted by Federer Smiley

Federer's last game turned out to be really emotional - and it was also great to see him pairing with Nadal to close off his career teamed up with his biggest opponent.

The tennis was good as well - I honestly thought that, considering that it was in an exhibition tournament, Tiafoe and Sock would let them have it.
Still - I understand them as well - for the rest of their lives they'll get to say that they beat Federer and Nadal Grin
Eventually it doesn't really matter who won though.

Farewell Roger, you will be missed.

It was very nice to see two tennis greats, Federer and Nadal, playing together. An unforgettable experience.
Federer and Nadal were great rivals but also close friends.
The two really played a lot of great and memorable matches, and it's really a shame that one had to say goodbye to tennis, and probably the other won't be playing for a long time either.
The era of tennis romance is over, it's time for some new, young tennis champions.
How much longer can Djokovic and Nadal manage to play and win GS tournaments?

And as the saying goes, if one door closes, another one open, so this is a good opportunity for the young and up coming to really show their talent because Federer has retired already.

We have discussed their names already, and then this year, we have another one in Alcaraz. So we will see who is brave enough to somewhat become the next or even surpassed Roger's achievement.

Anyone watching the match between BERRETTINI and FELIX AUGER ALIASSIME. Every point seems to be pressure point, the tie break have been going on for 18+ minutes. Finally set was won 713-611 by BERRETTINI. The tie breaker moments were that good to watch. Legendary players surrounded and such a performance from the young players is really nice to see.

Federer had an elegance with how he played and Alcaraz dosent have that. Alcaraz has a gamestyle like Nadal and is similar to him. New stars are here and i dont know for how long Djokovic and Nadal wi be playing. Nadal always has injuries now so i think he will be the next to retire.

Regarding Alcaraz and his game style, that's very true and it is almost the same as Nadal. It is all about power while Federer indeed made tennis look like an elegant sport. I think there isn't really a player right now who comes close to Federer's style. It's also his light movements that made it look easy and not so powerful. It was more about precision and strategy.

I think that was the fun part about the big three guys. Everyone had his own style.

Unfortunately I couldnt get to watch that match, I can just get the interviews and 3 minutes
of highlights. I would have loved to watch Federer and Nadal pairing up for the last time.

It was amazing to see the close bond between the two guys, holding hands and the emotions
shared by them both. I thought too that maybe Nadal sees his career ending closer on the horizon.

Not every top sports person gets to retire on their terms but it was great that Roger got to play
a final match competitively with a close friend and top rival.

The sport doesnt end there though, the younger generation are already making their
mark, particularly Alcaraz.

You are completely right about this. It was these players who made many people love tennis. We have enjoyed watching the rivalry between these players in recent years, everything they do off the court has attracted the attention of millions and they are names that are deeply admired.
The time when Nadal will also retire is pretty close.
Now a new generation is coming, we will get used to watching the stars here and we will talk about these names for the next 15 years Smiley

I am really sad. I didn't think i would be this impressed. His retirement from tennis really affected me. Also shedding tears with Nadal. In fact, with the retirement of each legend, the path to becoming a legend is opened for other names. The first leaf fall of the big 3 competition has taken place. It is very difficult to face the fact that it is the farewell of one of the greatest beauties of my youth in the name of sports, that i will not be able to watch it again, that i will not be able to watch a great character, an inspiration to people, on the courts with a racket in hand. The cruelty of time made me feel old. The rivalry seemed like it would never end.

Metz tournament final will be played today and the two finalists are bublik and sonego it was not expected but we have seen a godd performance from these players so its totally deserved but sonego was the one to stand out the most he run through his opponents easily i think he is the favourite and will win but not easily i think the score will be 2 1 for sonego.

I agree, Alcaraz is a great tennis talent and could become the new great tennis champion, but it is still too early to say if he will reach the level of Federer and win 20 GS.
However, I am absolutely sure of one thing. Never again in tennis will we see three great tennis players like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, who together won 63 GS and lasted almost 20 years.
Something like that will never happen again and I think we are all privileged because we lived in an age when we could enjoy the great tennis matches of the three greats. I thank them for everything.
In other individual sports, we may have had situations where we had two champions at the top, but never three like in tennis.

Yep and that's what really separates the big 3 or at least big 4 when Murray was healthy during this competition run. Each has it's own style of playing, in boxing, style makes fight and this goes with tennis. There were times that Federer will have the upper hand, but Nadal will come back in clay court tournaments. Djokovic has the mentality of both and Murray can match either stride by stride.

So hopefully if there will be a big 3 in the future that will be dominating as this guys then it's going to be very fun and exciting to watch their careers grow and fighting against each others specially in grand slams.
