Yeah, better accept for better or worst that Djokovic will not be in the US Open and so it will open the doors for other players to claim this grand slam. And there could be more rank player that can miss the tournament because of covid restrictions and other reasons.

Although there is a US player that is not vaccinated but can play in the US Open.

https://twitter.com/TennysSandgren/status/1537498249715716096

But I guess he is not a top rank player.

I don't think ranking comes into it, the fact is that he's American, and there are already plenty of unvaccinated Americans in America, the rule is that unvaccinated foreigners can't enter the country.
I think the US is well aware of the chaos in Australia back in January, and so they are making their rules crystal clear, so there's no room for misunderstanding. Whether or not people agree with their decisions, I think we can all agree that being clear about it and removing any element of doubt is absolutely the best thing they can do.

agree, he is an American, and he can enter the country unvaccinated, if you are not American, it is simply not allowed
although, plenty of time for that to be changed, depend on current situation with Covid, as it seems now, numbers will go up, but not sure if that will be before November, or later

nevertheless, Djokovic is probably preparing as it will be allowed for him to play, but as in Miami and Indianapolis, probably not try to enter USA without permission

I doubt that the USA is gonna change the rules anytime soon. They already loosened up last month by not requiring anymore a negative covid test, but the vaccine will stay mandatory for foreigners. It is the choice of Djokovic to not get vaccinated, so he need to live with the consequences of that if it means he will not be able to play the US Open.

It's a weird situation as Covid is obviously going to continue for a while, so likely no Djokovic at next year's AO either. And I can't see Russia pulling out of Ukraine or Wimbledon backing down any time soon, so a decent chance of no Medvedev at Wimbledon 23... which leaves the French Open as the only slam where all the top players can play and the field isn't weakened in some way. It's quite bizarre.

Yea its strange, COVID still at this stage is causing problems in Tennis and Russia
is creating problems too in Tennis.

Thats a good point actually that the French open was the only slam where there were no
restrictions and yea COVID is still around but not as potent  and Russia are not going to
pull out of Ukraine too soon, 2023 will be as it is now in terms of Tennis tournaments.

America have got its own policy in covid prevention measures. The thing is being with fame, Djokovic could've dealt this in a very smooth manner than struggling this hard. Because, in my country people have got covid vaccination certificate but they aren't vaccinated. Djokovic could've done it, if so such a trouble of missing few important matches might've not taken place.

Surely these all are frustrating things for Tennis fans as now they are unable to watch all stars in one tournament with restrictions are tightened for covid19 cases and Ukraine, Russia conflict is now also having his serious problems with these things now few players are not available in all Grand Slams and sports authorities are not going to have any soft policies for having things move for positive solution.

Now in the USA we are going to have only players those take their doses for this pandemic and Djokovic is not interested, so he is going to be not allowed and then again in Australian Open still have their strict policy about this as well even we all know things are completely changed, but politics is having not positive movements for anyone.

It's the other way around, he has fame and he is a known figure in sports, so if by chance he will get a special treatment (which I think he won't) there could be someone that will claim that the US Open is somewhat biased.

And for sure Djokovic must have admit his case already that he won't be playing in the US Open this year and it seems that Tennis is one of the hardest sport that is being hit by the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Djokovic could have gotten a paper easily in Serbia that he was vaccinated but he has his standards and dosent want to be fake. He is against covid since day one and will be probobly until the last day. So he wont ever get vaccinated so we hope that the US will allow him to play.

He is t going to get vaccinated, if he hasnt got vaccinated after all the issues and hassle
by now he never will.

Is anyone betting on the Tennis is Newport USA? Andy Murray is in the quarter finals
and faces Bublik tomorrow.

Or the Sweden open? Rublev, Thiem, Carreno Busta and Schwartzman through to the
quarters there.

Schwartzman plays Carreno Busta, Thiem plays Baez and Rublev plays Djere, all close
matches I think. Cerundolo plays Karatsev and Cerundolo beat Ruud yesterday.

I generally follow tennis fairly closely, but I often seem to lose interest a bit straight after slams. I've been half following Newark, but not betting on it, no. Was surprised to see FAA going out, which does leave Murray's half a little open... but I'm not sure how far he'll get, it's the consecutive matches in a short space of time that's tough for him.

although technically possible, beyond its standards, I find such a solution somewhat improbable. falsifying a document is always a risk! and a player of his caliber has too many eyes on him and is practically able to bill as much as a medium-sized company (with dozens of people who manage to live thanks to his results Roll Eyes ).

I don't think we can compere them, Murray is much older and he had full hip replacement surgery. Artificial hip just can't do everything he was used to be doing. He said it himself, he has muscle memory of doing stuff certain way and that simply does not work any more.

Not sure what was the problem with Thiem, but as far as I know, he did not have anything that serious. It is more of a case of lost form/confidence than actual physical handicap.

The age factor and the injury have kept Andy Murray out of form to give wins here and there. With Dominic Thiem, he's just 28 years of age. As said he himself have lost his confidence. Slowly it can recover. After today's win Thiem seems to be more energetic to make a win against the young player Sebastian Baez.

Probably is, maybe he lost his confidence and the mentality to win a game after his injury. Again this separates the big 3 form the rest, all of them come from big injuries late in their career but able to get back and win a grand slam. Thiem on the other hand is still very young and yet can't get over the hurdle of getting into a winning form and forget about his injury and come strong.

Is anyone betting on the Tennis is Newport USA? Andy Murray is in the quarter finals
and faces Bublik tomorrow.

Yea I know, its like an anti-climax when the GS finishes. I've done a few half hearted
bets on Newport to no avail. I wanted to make a bet on either Murray to win or a handicap
on Bublik but both are dodgy bets I think. I never bet for or against Bublik, he is very
unpredictable and yes the more matches Murray plays the more beatable he becomes.

I have Cerundolo to beat Karatsev in Sweden, again the matches there are potential
close affairs so hard for me to bet.

Did not watch the match but Thiem got a nice win yesterday. You don't win against Bautista Agut ever if you are not quite close to your maximum. He is one of those players that does not gift anything and you have to earn every point. Maybe we will se better performances from Thiem now. I certainly hope so, since we could use a player like him in top 10 to make it a bit more enjoyable to watch.

Yeah, I haven't look at this tournaments after the GS, perhaps the excitement just stop or me just taking a break as I'm not feeling very well this couple of days.

But looking at the Sweden Mens Single, some familiar names Baez vs Thiem and Baez is the favorite at 1.47.

Rublev vs Djere as well, this is a intriguing matchup, so lets see, maybe just throw some sats and enjoy the game if I have time to watch it live.
