Huge win by the Memphis Grizzlies against the Phoenix Suns tonight. They just show that even without some of their starters, they can win against the best team in the NBA right now.

It's going to be scary when Ja Morant comes back in the playoff. I reckon that whoever they faces in the first round, a sweep is possible with their strengths.

4 of their starters didn't play and yet they won against the top team in the league right now.
This Memphis Grizzlies team is really a team to watch out. They are a young team and most of them doesn't have any experience in the playoffs but lets see how they will perform when playoff comes.

Their roster is very deep that you can make a good 5 man out of their second unit as well. They have many scorers and they have someone that can step up every night. If they will face TWolves in the playoffs though, they might be having a hard time since their record is 2-2. We don't know but this team is a playoff team for the next 3-5 years or even longer as long as their core players will be not be traded which I think they will not.

It was a big let down by the Suns, hehehe, the Memphis doesn't have their best players and yet the Suns did have a hard time, against them. Guys like Xavier Tillman and Ziaire Williams and Santi Aldama are scoring inside. So something is not right on that game, actually there are a lot of upsets in the schedule games.

Lakers still have a chance to get the number 10 in case they miraculously beat twice Nuggets. They have also 1 games left for both Suns and Warriors on there remaining 5 games this season which is very hard and do or die for them. They also have same matches with Spurs last 5 games so this will be may the best team get that spot. I hope seeing Lakers in the playoffs rather than Spurs because the Lakers Duo is already back in the game which will give a good game to the top seed teams compared to Spurs.

Base on the website of NBA, they only met up once and the Lakers got demolished on this one and the Nuggets won by 37 points.

With regards to defeating twice, I don't think that it will happen even though Davis will be playing on that games. Same as well with the Suns but in the Warriors, they might win against them since on their last meet-up Lebron scored 50 and defeated them and another one as well is that the Warriors only won 3 on their last 10 games and in a 4 game losing streak so the Lakers might still have a chance. I think they can defeat the Thunder. Another question is that how will the Spurs perform in the remaining 5 games because it also affects the chances of the Lakers entering the play-in. The betting odds are the voice of most gamblers, and since the Nets have the lowest odds, that means they have the biggest chance.
Per odds in the sportsbook I'm using, the Nets and Bucks are tied with an odds of 3.70, but it's possible that they will face in the first round if Nets will end in number 7 and Bucks stayed at number 2 spot.

Not me hehe. I'm rooting for the Milwaukee Bucks to win the Eastern Conference.

My reference is between their role-players that doing some adjustments in a crucial situation. Here in Brooklyn Nets, the focus of their offense is only limited to 2 players, the same goes when in a close-game situation. When Durant or Irving will be off-night, no other option to rely on. Although it's hard to defend both Kyrie and Durant, what matters is that they just have to restrict the movement of this two to lessen the Nets' offensive phase.

Like to see them meeting up during the early rounds. If Bucks are able to pass the Nets, they should handle the rest of the teams in the East.

Well there's still the Miami Heat which I think could handle Giannis with Bam protecting the rim. Then they have Tucker who could tell the secrets of the Bucks.  Then there's the 76ers. Tyrese Maxie is getting better at his game and on the high ranks to be voted as most improved player.

I want to see that Bucks and Nets match up in the playoffs too because of that big trend they made on their game days ago.
I think their issue is too much isolation plays. Who will handle the ball? Who will take the shot? It's not healthy on their chemistry if they will stay that way.

Nets are still in the 8th spot, Cavs are 2 wins away from them and with how Cavs are performing, they

are not willing to give that spot yet, though it's very possible that position from the east will be a change before the playoff
Nets needs to work it out and avoid having any serious injuries, especially Kyrie and Durant. They are both needed to

Aaaaand Lakers are officially out of the play-in as well. Not even a bad thing for them, it is obvious that they are horrible so who cares if they make it to play-in or not. However, this should show them that Lakers became like Miami or more importantly like Cavs. They could still have a future if they get rid of the extra weight right now, sure keep lebron if you want to because he is a good player and still going for the scoring leader position at his age.

But, I would get rid of AD and WB for whatever the cost is. I mean they are good players that other teams may use, but they are so horrible for Lakers that it didn't work out. I do not know if they can find a buyer for such a huge salary for WB, but they really need to change something for next season obviously.

I definitely agree about that! Although they can still comeback big next season, hopefully that time not a super team again full of clowns. The Lakers future is still a bright sunny day but yes they indeed need to dispose their excess baggage who's not really needed in the team and they can still do it especially that they still have LeBron James who's leading the team and is the biggest contributor despite of his age now, not everyone can do that! In the league now, LeBron and CP3 are the ones who are still on their best even if they're not getting any younger anymore.

But, I would get rid of AD and WB for whatever the cost is. I mean they are good players that other teams may use, but they are so horrible for Lakers that it didn't work out. I do not know if they can find a buyer for such a huge salary for WB, but they really need to change something for next season obviously.

They better figure that out and get the both of them out of the team, WB won't be a big deal because there is always a team in the league who is willing to accept him and give the big man role to him as it is his specialty. AD on the other hand, the fact that he is an injury prone makes the Lakers in a bad situation so they don't have that much choice but to get rid of him also.

It's really interesting if you look at the odds for the Eastern Conference, the Nets is struggling and not even in the top 4 and yet they are the favorite as per sports bookies, this could be a trap.

There were scary moments in their last game when Durant twist his ankle as he drive and replay shows he step into someone's foot. Good thing is that he was able to continue and play. Just imagine if that injury is worst than he have thought, for sure it will be the end of their championship dreams again.

With Davis yes they can win game/s but if for the future of the franchise it's much better not to push the players and let things to

happen, having an early exit will secure the players from possible injuries. though we really don't know if how the coaching staff will handle

those remaining games, if they wanted to continue chasing for the play-in they needed to work hard and win games.

Davis and Lebron already delivered a championship to the Lakers, I don't understand why they trade a bunch of players for Westbrook. Now, they are playing the price of their greediness, they want to build a super team but look what happen to the team.

I think with the way that they showed last season, they felt that they have to rebuild, Kuzma and KCP performance and then they expect too much on Montrezl Harrell acquisition. To be fair with Westbrook, he is doing great with the Wizards, but not sure what happen to him in the Lakers uniform as it seems he was really off with Lebron and there was no chemistry with the team in the beginning. So it was doom to fail.

LeBron and Anthony Davis are both in the lineup tonight. The game is about to rip off and sadly I can’t watch it, but I’ll be awaiting the highlights and keeping my fingers crossed. The playoffs without LeBron James would be a shame. Especially at this stage in his career when who knows how many seasons he has left in the tank. Hopefully AD comes back strong and gets them the W. Additionally, the Spurs won tonight so the pressure is on the Lakers. Hopefully the Spurs lose a few going forward to take some of the pressure off, because I don’t know if the Lakers have what it takes to make it into the postseason on their own.

It was a close game, but the Lakers lost again. LeBron showed great performance by scoring 38 points, but it wasn't enough to win. So the Lakers have worsened their situation again, and it's unlikely that they will be able to continue to struggle for the last place in the play-in tournament since the Spurs will probably win the next game against the Blazers.

Interesting to see Davis back in the line up and it was a very close game. Nevertheless, they still choke in the closing minutes, so it seems that the Lakers might be looking for next season now. Yes, James played great again, no question about that, but as others said, he is not a closer, he want to take the ball, but I think it's better if he could give it up to Davis.

He played great but all are wasted because he could not sink the last shot which was supposed to be the winning shot. if Lakers wants to win, they need to be consistent form the start until the end of the game, and they need to make sure that the last shot should be a high percentage shot or is coming from a clutch player.

There's no point to win some games because they have no chance to have a spot even if AD can play now and get to play at the play-in tournament, they cannot even defeat the Pelicans what more in their next 3 games as they will face with Nuggets, Suns and Warriors respectively. I also think that they already gave up up and accepted that there are no hopes with them this season.

I think Lakers main problem is that they bringed Westbrook with such a high salary and spilled more wins then he gaved. He dosent give anything good to Lakers and if Lakers want to do something next season they need to get rid of him and bring some fresh new players

We can clearly see now that Westbrook is a failed experiment. They thought "strengthening" their starting line up would be good while trading most of their supporting cast. Who do you see as a trade potential for him? There were rumors of WB and Lillard before bit I don't think it would make much of a difference.

Let's look clearly at the Lakers' situation this season. When Russell Westbrook is playing good, the Lakers' winning rate is above 85%.

Where did that come from? What does "good" mean in terms of score and assist? How many times he's been "good" in all the games he played so far?

My "failed experiment" comment includes everything from the management decision to the coaching staff and player. I'm under the impression that Westbrook was brought in to help the team when players like Lebron and AD are out injured. That's obviously not what's happening.

Most of the comments that I've read are that they should have not taken WB. But let's see the pride as he says that they can make it to 5-0. And we're going to see if they will win against Nuggets by tomorrow as a sign of the promised '5-0'.

Hopefully that they will really do as most of us are fans here and we want them to be part of the playoffs.

It is really horrible to see LA Lakers in this kind of a situation. But it was already obvious much time ago that they were going to have serious problems in even the regular season. They still weren't able to play properly as a team and were depending on Lebron James at an incredibly high rate. And this has brought things to the current point. They have the same amount of wins with Spurs though and can still enter the playoff zone. But it is not going to be easy. They lost four weeks in a row and Spurs have been in a much better condition these days.

Actually not that horrible since it was already expected in the half-period of the season. Lakers fans should not expect anything from now on. There are still more seasons for a comeback although Lebron James is now hitting the retirement age and might not be the best player as always for the franchise.

The better plan would be, to make a whole roster revamp from coaching staff to players and surround Lebron with good role players to help him. Lakers need Lebron and that's already proven. I don't know why others think that Lebron is stat-padding. How can you stat-padding at that age and still give 30+ points per game? That was greatness.

They got another loss last night by the way. And their chance for the playoffs is even lower now. But I agree with you that even their fans haven't kept their hopes up for this season. Because Lakers still couldn't build a team just as Lebron James wanted. And now, this is like a punishment for that. And yes, Lebron is doing an incredible work even at this age. He had another 30+ points game and he is giving his everything for his team. But he is not excited about any success with this team at all.

You must realise now that the only reason why LeBron is still playing is to chase the scoring record.

It's obviously great for him, but it's not helping the team. He is a big reason why the team chemistry is so bad as everything is amplified when you have James on your team.

Also, it is probably wise for the Lakers to rest him for the next season - but that is probably not going to happen given that LeBron is the scoring leader right now and looking to surpass Abdul-Jabbar.

That's one big heavy reality that they have to accept. It's true that there's lesser hope for them to catch in but they still have to play those remaining games.
