That was too bad, but their problem is really their defense.

I think they are still not out in the play-in tournament, they still have more games waiting and they just need to win them all.
Now that Davis is back, I think the Lakers chance will increase but I don't want to expect so much as I don't want to get disappointed.

With Davis yes they can win game/s but if for the future of the franchise it's much better not to push the players and let things to

happen, having an early exit will secure the players from possible injuries. though we really don't know if how the coaching staff will handle

those remaining games, if they wanted to continue chasing for the play-in they needed to work hard and win games.

Still possible and like you, I will not expect too much just go with the flow.

Davis has now returned to the court and is now making a productive week. If his come back will create progress and could be an asset to win the remaining games, i guess the stat of the Lakers will be improved. Though i know its not only Davis who should work so hard, but definitely the staff involved in the team should probably do all their best giving their best shots so they can win the next games in the court.

Davis make his presence be felt but again ain't enough to lift the team to win, LeBron less Lakers lost another game

the chance to make it to play-in tournament is almost impossible, we don't know if they will force to try making it or they will stop from

here and think for more effective ways to chase the title next season.. still unpredictable they still have games to play and who knows

how well they will perform.

Lakers remaining 5 matches is against  x2 Nuggets, Warriors, Suns and Thunder.

Unfortunately, LeBron missed an important game against the Nuggets tonight because he hasn't fully recovered from a recent ankle injury. As a result, the Lakers lost again without him, although it's worth noting that Davis and Westbrook played well in this match as they combined for 55 points.

Without LeBron, this team can't win a game. I'm surprised that Westbrook was able to score so many points, he's been one of the weakest players in the team for a long time and he wasn't really contributing much to the team.
I am surprised that they can still get such bad results with such a good squad. They are having their worst season in years

It was a magnificent night for Kevin Durant for sure. He got 55 points and 7 rebounds in their game against Atlanta Hawks. And Kyrie Irving contributed highly by 31 points too.  They got 86 points combined and the team got 115 points in this game. However these performances were still not enough for a win as they lost by 122-115. Brooklyn Nets have promoted to the playoffs still thankfully but they must be better at team play to be successful in the playoffs.

Not enough to win the game, but the duo shows how they can really play the game.

Even if Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving carry the team, there's still a high chance that an another heavy team can defeat them because their ball isn't that shared well unlike the Hawks where almost everyone is grabbing the ball and rotating it until one of them can shoot it whereas the Nets heavily relies on their powerful duo. I'm also thinking that if Seth have played, the result would've been in their favor.

Yes, that's a fact... the Lakers totally depend on LeBron James, that's clear, I believe that without LJ's leadership, if the Lakers go to the playoffs, they will hardly be able to advance without him!!

While Lakers are continuing to lose in the regular season, Spurs continue to win also. The last two games of these teams were exactly like this I mean. In their last game, Lakers had a home game against Nuggets. Lebron wasn't able to play due to ankle injury. But actually Lakers did a great job until the beginning of the last quarter. They were only one point behind against their very tough opponent. But in the last quarter, Nuggets started taking control of the game and won by 129-118. Lakers will most probably be out of the playoffs for this season.

It doesn't matter how much you score as long as your team doesn't win. Hawks still managed to beat them and that means Durant scoring meant nothing in the end. They are 10th in the east right now and that is not acceptable for a team that has Durant.

The loss was definitely not the result they wanted but the score still matters in his case since he's also competing for the scoring title.

We also have to be reminded that they are 10th because he missed a lot of games due injuries and one player refused to get vaccinated. It's not as if they have a complete or healthy roster and played really bad.

The only  meaning of Durant having that score is personally he can or maybe he will clinched the scoring title. But that's just individual awards though, of course it's good to have that title, but if you are not going to win any title with that huge accomplished, then yeah it doesn't really matter at all.

It's a scoring title so it's obviously personal and an individual award. Nobody said otherwise. I'm not one to talk but I bet it would still matter to him if he wins it.

And the thing is, since they are in the 10th spot, their chances of entering the playoff/in is not on their hands.

I'm not sure I understand. What do you mean their chances is not in their hands? It's not like they are in 11th place waiting for the 10th place to lose games or handover the last spot to them. They already secured a ticket for the play in tournament by the way and it's just a matter of where they end up with four games remaining.

Not like they were winning with lebron on the team neither. They have been losing a lot lately, in fact they won just 4 games since the all-star break. Can you imagine that? I mean that is a team that is tanking if you asked me, only a  team that is tangling for the first draft pick would win 4 games since the all-star break and this team doesn't even have their own pick.

This is why I believe that it is quite bad for them, not only they will miss the playoffs, but they will gain no advantage over it neither. They do not have their picks, and they have bad contracts, and aging stars. Lebron averaged like 30, and they still lost this many games.

The Lakers are sure goodbye now for the play-in chances.

They have lost 6 in a row. They have 4 games remaining which are against the Suns, Warriors, Thunder & Nuggets, and mandatorily and necessary, they have to win it all. And for let's say, the luck comes to them and wins it all, they also need the Spurs to lose 3 of their last 4 games against Nuggets, Timberwolves, Warriors & Mavericks. It means if the Lakers were able to do their best in their remaining games, they also have to expect the Spurs to lose their 3 remaining games which are beyond their control.

And if luck still comes to them and that scenario above happened, they will face the Pelicans in their first play-in which they lose previously on this team.

And if luck still comes to them and they beat the Pelicans, they will face either the Clippers or Timberwolves next to secure the 8th spot, and again, they are also struggling against this team.

And if luck still comes to them and they made it to the playoffs, Phoenix Suns are waiving for them.

The bottom line is, the Lakers need all the LUCK they can get to have a miracle.

It's really unfortunate how the teams turn out to be this season, in the beginning they are one of the favorite, but it was obvious that there are some problems even before the regular games.

The issue is that Anthony Davis can't ever stay healthy.  Sure Russell Westbrook is getting older but there were still justifiable expectations that he would be able to at least play decently enough to help out two of the top ten players in the league in Lebron James and Anthony Davis.  I do agree they need to make some adjustments.  They need a few different pieces as this roster constructions just isn't working out.

That's a fact, most fans created a huge expectation with this current Lakers roster (including me), that's clear, most fans were already imagining a final between Lakers and Nets.

Basketball is a box of chocolates, anything can happen. Including Lakers' with poor performance, several players injured during the regular season and there was not that chemistry that "everybody" expected with this ""Dream Team" of the Lakers.

The Golden State Warriors continue to show that the team can do something without Curry who beat the Sacramento Kings without difficulty and won their second straight win. This team can perform very well when the playoff time comes and be one of the biggest candidates for the championship it will be nice to watch

But the Kings are one of the cellar dweller so it doesn't show the full strength of the Warriors. They've lost 3 straight if I'm not mistaken, very close one to the Wizards, Grizzlies and the Suns before winning against the Jazz and the Kings. So they still need Curry to be healthy in the playoff and it will be interesting as to who are they going to face in the first round.

Yeah, the trade with the Pacers has something to do with that. The Kings were better with Tyrese Haliburton facilitating especially when DeAaron Fox is injured. Most fans are shocked by that trade but I think the Kings' management wants to focus on the fragile Fox and at the same time not spend too much money.   But now they are a wrecked team with Sabonis and Holmes also injured. There's no way they could keep up with a Warriors team that relies on speed.
 
April 8. Warriors vs Lakers. It will be so much fun. Last year they kicked GSW out in the play-in, now they can deliver their revenge.

Plus, Klay has found his touch together with Jordan Poole and Draymond is back so this is going to be fun. And it seems that the Lakers are giving up, so the chance of Warriors to win even at double digit handicap is huge.

More likely it will be the head of the coach that will go first, and then Westbrook, and Carmelo. Hopefully though they retain the services of Howard because he can still contribute and compliment Davis in the middle. Malik Monk is also doing good, however, disappointment on THT, Lakers doesn't want him to be included in the trade before, but it seems he will be gone next season because of his performance this year.
