Now that De Andre Jordan is officially a Laker, we'll most likely see an announcement on Marc Gasol trade (or not ). I don't think Lakers will want to start the season with four centers but I don't get why they seem not interested in letting him go. There are probably two or three teams that wants a center like Gasol and acquiring him won't be expensive.

Yeah, probably Marc Gasol will be traded, they already have Davis, Howard and now DJ. So we don't know how Gasol will fit on that rotation, although he can still contribute with his outside shooting.

But it's better for the Lakers to move Gasol out, how about him going to Nuggets to back up Jokic? Or Bucks to add depth? Yes, Giannis can play the middle, but it's better to have a true center in Gasol to help them out.

That's a good team to land for Mark Gasol, he is a defensive-oriented player so he will be a big help especially for the Bucks whom they beat before. I'm sure the Bucks will get him if the Lakers will ask too much for him in return, and for sure they will not ask a big man in return for the trade.

It is really nice to hear that LaMarcus Aldridge is healthy now as you can remember that he retired because of some health problems. And he is back at Brooklyn Nets now. Nets signed Paul Millsap also and sent DeAndre Jordan. Aldridge may not play like in his old days but I'm hoping to see him contributing well when he is given the chance. Nets are the favourite team for the championship again now. They struggled with injuries and they couldn't make it there in the last season. But now, I hope that they will not have the same problems and they will move on to the NBA finals with a great performance.

No doubt if he's not injured during that final against Suns, the chance of winning the series is very possible.

 I think his unwillingness to shoot is more a mental thing that is allowing teams to cheat on defense knowing he won’t shoot. If he even develops a little confidence in his shot and get his % up to at least above 25% from the arc and he’ll be dangerous.

Oh he will be dangerous IF he could do that and that is probably what Sixers were expecting too that's why they agreed to give him a huge contract. It doesn't have to be three pointers. He should work on dropping more jumpers from the perimeter just like what CP3 does.

I also agree that the struggle is mental. He works with top coaches but it's still up to him to put what he learns to good use. He needs to get over that hurdle on his own.

He had always been underrated. Why? Simply because he is a defensive type of guy. He ain't KD or Steph whose always on the hype because the era now is about shooting skills. I have been repeating it here over and over, defensive type of players are always in the shadows of those offensive types.
Ben Simmons too to be precise. Perhaps they should think about making this league like NFL where there is defense team and offense team just so they could highlight players who are working so hard to be good at both ends.

That is to be expected by the Lakers, he might be used as bench/role players with 10 minutes per game to give Davis or even Howard a good rest. His best years are with the Clippers and after that he seems to be a journey man. Lakers have a lot of veterans and ageing players, and hopefully the medical staff can keep them healthy for the duration so that the Lakers can get back that championship ring. It's going to be very close in the West as to who will be the top seed.

The Lakers this year has a tall line up, so I guess DeAndre won't be stressing himself too much with Howard and AD in the line up.  Also, he might be receiving enough lob from Rondo and LeBron just like when he was playing with the Clippers. I'm thinking DeAndre is the best fit in LA from all of their acquisition this year, If he can stay healthy and perform the way he play in Clippers. Well, the current Lakers roster is the biggest threat in the West anyway.

That is a pretty good point you gave there. He will help players like Davies and Howard play better as they might get rested a bit more and he would get the chance to cover that up for them. All in all, I think this is a good decision from the Lakers' management side which might passively help Howard as he is aging and help him with his fitness as well.

The same question arises in my mind as well. You will hardly play all of your four centers, so you can easily let go of at least one of them if not two. That might open some chance to acquire some young players into the squad. And with the addition of De Andre Jordan, Lakers look like a pretty solid team this season. An overall well-rounded team in my opinion.

And now that he is returning and Nets have Paul Millsap with them, it's gonna be an awesome season for the Nets. Even if they don't win the title, I am sure that they will be in the top three. What the Lakers has to ensure now is the health of the Centers, Howard could probably survive as he only played with limited minutes, but Davis health is very important and if in case he will be injured again, Deandre Jordan and Dwight Howard should be ready to take over and don't forget, Lebron could also play the Center position if he likes, now that there's Westbrook, it will be more easier for him to adjust in any positiion.

Weird to see Deandre Jordan still getting decent payoff. I mean don't get me wrong he was an all-star caliber Center back in the day but 10 million a year for him? Are we really sure he worths that? Maybe some of that is paid by Nets or something and I do not have all the bits and pieces. Dude was a 7.5 points 7.5 rebounds per game Center. In any case it feels like Lakers doesn't have one proper Center so instead they got 3 veteran ones to cover the difference.

Howard, Gasol, Jordan get together and could certainly create a 48 minute Center rotation, put a bit of AD in there and you got yourself 10-12 minute per game 3 big guys. I would rather not have any of them and just have one proper Center, but they couldn't get one apparently. Rest of the team looks great as well, it certainly is a team to beat in NBA right now, they have all the great pieces to compete for a title.

That's usually the veteran minimum salary, so it will not reach to $10 million per year. However, the contract of Jordan is quite complicated as he came from NYK, got traded to Nets, and now he signed with the Lakers which I think his original contract is not yet over. As per the report, there's what we called waiver that he has to clear first.

If Anthony Davis will be healthy all season long, together with Lebron James, those newly acquired big men will mostly warm the bench most of the time or will just use when Lakers are now in the sure win.

I'm not expecting much on this Lakers bench. They are deep though compare to other teams but nothing special to me in terms of performance.

I expect that Howard and Jordan will get 8-10 minutes per game, and it should be enough to reduce the load on Anthony Davis during next season. By the way, Marc Gasol was traded to the Grizzlies immediately after the Lakers signed a contract with DeAndre Jordan.

What teams are the championship teams? IMO, GSW could be considered as a championship team and if they acquire Ben Simmons in exchange for Wiggins,  I think they'll improve as a team. Green and Simmons will be the defensive players of the team, while Curry and Thompson the splash brothers will take care of the offensive requirement of the team.

Gasol is back to his old team, that's good for him, the Grizzlies now have two big men who can help to improve their defense.

The young Grizz showed their grit during the last playoffs, I expect them to be better in the next season as they have a big man with playoffs experience and a champion as well.
