IMO, if I'm the team owner, I would rather move him for a lesser value than seeing him struggle in a team because he doesn't want to play anymore, I mean his heart is not anymore in the team, so there's no way the team will succeed, and despite his talent, he could only become a liability of the team as he will not be as motivated as he was before.

But same sentiment with the post you just quoted, it's business and Sixers management is not willing to let him go without the same value they demand a lot for him, I just read an article that Cavs and Wolves are both interested but don't have that capabilities to provide the demand coming from Sixers management.

Even they are showing such interest without giving what being ask from them, there's no deal that will happen.

And like you, I would rather see him go with lesser value, and train players that will replace him, than keep him inside the team without any interest  giving help, it's worthless.

But at least they showed their interest, and with the number of offers, 76ers could potentially review the offers and will get the best among the teams that made an offer even if it's lower than what they are expecting. Having Ben Simmons on the team could be detrimental to the future of the team if they are not playing on the same page, the good relationship is very important to maintain, for his teammates and the team and it looks like it's not what is happening now.

Ben isn't going to be as detrimental as playing another point guard.  Anyone they get in return will.lower the technical quality.  The kid had a bad series for sure but cmon.  He isn't throwing in the towel.  You don't know the ins and outs of the dynamics.  Who is going to play point for Philly that will make them better without Ben?  Not much to go on.

I think what his saying is that if by chance Ben is still in the Sixers uniform this season, he may want to sit it out and doesn't want to play. Or if he plays, we won't see him pushing himself 100% as he had already a bad relationships with the management and players as well. I remember reading news that he is not answering any calls from the players including Joel. So I interpret it as animosity between Ben and his team mates already and it will not result to a good chemistry and locker room huddle.

He ain't sitting out.  Dude has  $33 million owed to him this year.  Mark my words if he is on the roster he will be on the 15 person roster.  I will take any bet on that one right there.  I get the point.  But this isn't old.  Kobe and Shaq "didn't get along".  Long history of teammates not getting along but when it's court time its time to go.

You're probably right. As you mentioned before, Ben has begun to ignore team management and teammates during the offseason, and he is going to miss the upcoming training camp. Also, I heard that he was offended by Doc Rivers. So Simmons shows by his actions that he is not interested in the 76ers, and there is no doubt that the team chemistry might be disrupted if Simmons stays with the 76ers.

I saw a rumor today that Portland is looking into trading CJ McCollum for Ben Simmons to pair with Dame. That would be an interesting pairing in my eyes, but Dame and CJ are best friends so I’m not sure how true that is. I can’t see Dame giving the OK to Portland to ship off one of his best friends.
That's interesting pairing in the guard position, as Dame is more of a shooting guard, and Ben being the point guard. So let's see how this rumor are going to end. The ball right now is on Portland, if they are willing to get Ben and sacrifice CJ for their experiment of this pairings. Portland has always been a playoff contender, but that's it, they can't reach the finals with CJ and Lilliard combine for the past couple of years.

It never is easy to say goodbyes to your best friends like that, and in a competitive environment like that, this kind of friendship plays a vital role in terms of team chemistry. But if the rumors are true and CJ does get traded with Ben, it will be interesting to see how Dame reacts to the decision. Also, the Dame and Ben Simmons duo might also be an interesting one to see.

Yes, maybe Dame will opt to be traded after a year it the chemistry with Ben doesn't work that way him and CJ's chemistry. Of course, Dame will have to act professionally and accept the management decision, but it could really hurt him inside. But who knows, maybe it will the Dame-Ben tandem will work for Portland in the long run. So it's going to be a gamble for the management to take.

It was the game against the Hawks that heightened Ben's emotion.
They didn't give him a chance to redeem himself and just benched him after he missed free throws. After they lose, it's like everything is pinned on him because of those missed shots then the shooting skills issue was unearthed again.

76ers now want gold in exchange for silver (Ben). They won't trade him unless it will be beneficial for them in a wider range. They are getting greedy.
Ben should also stop acting like a kid. Business is business and his emotion should be set aside for now while waiting for a better opportunity.
There's a contract and he cannot get away from it.

I like the analogy of Ben being a silver on any trades as Sixers wanted gold in return.

And I'm thinking that in order to get Ben out of the Sixers team, the management should also look at offers for like future first round picks or a protected top five picks from others teams. Maybe the Sixers can get a good players in exchange of Ben from those future picks that will be included and not trade Ben one on one with franchise players.

Maybe because there's no other team that is willing to trade to acquire Simmons in exchange for their star player. I don't see any player now being a star player that was criticized than Ben Simmons, so he is really a problem to his team and I don't know if they can sell him the value they expect to receive.

you are right, they are sending silver for gold, that's not fair.

Sixers think they should be the one who would dictate the trade because they got Simmons who is an all around player, but other teams see it differently because they will not trade Simmons if the sixers management thinks he is still a valuable player that they can keep for the long run.

how about this?

Big news finally.

Lakers Sign DeAndre Jordan

Quote
The Los Angeles Lakers have signed center DeAndre Jordan, it was announced today by Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Rob Pelinka. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

A 13-year NBA veteran, Jordan appeared in 57 games (43 starts) for the Nets last season, where he averaged 7.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.1 blocks in 21.9 minutes, while shooting a career-best 76.3 percent (190-249) from the field. Jordan is the NBA’s all-time leader in career field goal percentage, having shot 67.4 percent (3527-5234) from the field throughout his career and is the only player in NBA history with multiple seasons shooting over 70 percent from the field.

I hope Jordan will be healthy next year so he would be able to help the LA Lakers.
He was great back then with the LA Clippers, but time has passed, looks like he is not anymore in his prime and has been struggling.
Hopefully playing in a championship team, that will make his confidence high.

I'm not taking any bets mate, I'm just giving my opinion with regards to Ben's case. The Kobe and Shaq drama? we really don't know the real score for sure, and it's not even comparable to Kobe and Shaq.

Maybe he will sit out the duration of his contract and still being paid or maybe he will play and set aside his personal issues with the team.

That's why they ask to much in return and maybe they didn't want to trade him literally so expect that no team will accept there huge asking in returns so maybe we can see him play on Sixers this season. This drama still un ended and Sixers got the limelight thru this issue for sure many fans are now monitoring on how this drama end up between them. I don't know if Simmons will be at his 100% if he will not be traded to other team so maybe we can expect that he will not get any huge minutes the same as before if he will remain on his current team.

Lakers have a lot of veterans and ageing players, and hopefully the medical staff can keep them healthy for the duration so that the Lakers can get back that championship ring. It's going to be very close in the West as to who will be the top seed.

At first glance I was so excited about the big news. I thought it will end the Ben Simmons drama but as I read through, ergh my blood sugar went down.  Grin
It's a bit expected already as Lakers is just signing up players who will accept low salary contract in exchange for a chance to snatch a ring.
1-year 2.6M deal, somehow dejavu to the deals they made when they grabbed the Finals championship with Howard and McGee.
Are the Lakers trying to make a play like David against Goliath? They are filled with big men in their roster. Giants.

Now that De Andre Jordan is officially a Laker, we'll most likely see an announcement on Marc Gasol trade (or not Grin). I don't think Lakers will want to start the season with four centers but I don't get why they seem not interested in letting him go. There are probably two or three teams that wants a center like Gasol and acquiring him won't be expensive.

The Lakers this year has a tall line up, so I guess DeAndre won't be stressing himself too much with Howard and AD in the line up.  Also, he might be receiving enough lob from Rondo and LeBron just like when he was playing with the Clippers.
I'm thinking DeAndre is the best fit in LA from all of their acquisition this year, If he can stay healthy and perform the way he play in Clippers.
Well, the current Lakers roster is the biggest threat in the West anyway.

That is to be expected by the Lakers, he might be used as bench/role players with 10 minutes per game to give Davis or even Howard a good rest. His best years are with the Clippers and after that he seems to be a journey man. Lakers have a lot of veterans and ageing players, and hopefully the medical staff can keep them healthy for the duration so that the Lakers can get back that championship ring. It's going to be very close in the West as to who will be the top seed.

Rondo will have the liberty for his lob pass to this big man as these big man are used to that strategy. You are right, there's no much burden for Jordan here as he has talented big men surrounding him. If my counting is correct, they already have 4 big men namely.

1. Mark Gasol.
2. Deandre Jordan
3. Dwight Howard
4. Anthony Davis.

These are starers of their previous teams, no reason the Lakers will not be in the NBA Finals next year.

Yeah, probably Marc Gasol will be traded, they already have Davis, Howard and now DJ. So we don't know how Gasol will fit on that rotation, although he can still contribute with his outside shooting.

But it's better for the Lakers to move Gasol out, how about him going to Nuggets to back up Jokic? Or Bucks to add depth? Yes, Giannis can play the middle, but it's better to have a true center in Gasol to help them out.
