Nice trade for 76ers, I don't know what would Nets do with Simmons. Drummond is a good addition and first round draft picks may come with good players in the long run but all these don't worth for Harden. They could get better players for Harden, I don't think they used him for a good trade.
Harden and Embiid may work well just like Shaq and Kobe or a better example, Mutombo and Iverson. I guess Sixers expect at least conference finals this year after this great trade.

We will see, maybe Joel will get a lot of touch on alleyoop, wherein Harden was known during his years with Houston, passing it to Capela for an easy slam.

But I don't know if they will be Shaq and Kobe or even Mutombo and Iverson combo. Harden is not getting any younger as well that's why he had injuries in the last couple of years. Last year was critical, it was during this series with the Bucks that he got his hamstring injured and now he suffers the same injury.

I watched Steve Nash's interview about the Harden - Simmon trade and I can't tell if he's happy with it or not (he doesn't look excited). He's just glad to move forward without trade rumor distractions. At least he respect his game and said some good things about Simmons in the past despite his poor shooting.

Ben’s a generational talent. Crazy athlete, can play multiple positions on offense and defense. Obviously his glaring weakness is the shooting, but he’s so gifted that he can make up for it in other ways, and it’s about finding a way for him to be at his best for this group. And that’s a challenge for this club, is how do all the pieces fit together? Ben’s ability at both ends of the floor is unique and he’s a special, special player.

“I wouldn’t put it past him to become a reliable shooter at some stage in his career, but he still does so many things at both ends of the floor that if you could find a way as an organization to promote that, you have an incredible, incredible piece. That is a huge challenge — how do all the pieces fit? … I think it’s something that Brett [Brown] and everyone are working through every day. It’s a gift and a curse.

I think Ben Simmons kind of tick a spot that the Nets has been missing, he's a great perimeter defender and he's also a good passer, he surely not a good shooter but I don't think the Net's would need him to do that since they've got Seth Curry as an addition, the Nets have really not been good defensively, so I think both teams got a good deal, but imo more for the Nets than for the 76ers, barring the fact they were able to be rid off a player that's got his soul and mind out from the franchise already.

Huge deals this trade deadline.

I think that the 76ers probably overpaid to get rid of Ben Simmons. They have now gotten rid of a legitimate contributor in Seth Curry and also gave up substantial draft stock which is not a good thing whatsoever.

But hey, perhaps the locker room is getting very toxic right now in which case this is probably warranted.

Was surprise that Drummond was also included in the package, I mean he has log good minutes when Joel was resting and putting huge monster rebound. I guess that they really wanted to get rid of Ben Simmons and that is the consequence, Curry their best 3 point shooter and the big guy and then 2 big future first round picks?

And also for the Nets, they spend a good chunk of money to acquire and make the big 3, but I guess it doesn't matter anymore, injuries and the Kyrie drama really put the team in this position right now.

Yeah, I think that Nets won but realistically I don't think that this boosts their chances at a title anymore.

Their whole team is again a bunch of divas and misfits. I simply don't think that it's going to sustainable for them to keep playing these three people together, especially with Kyrie in and out of the lineup.

They need a whole lot more help around KD and I don't think that it has been delivered.

I agree with what you said. Going to the playoffs is not difficult, there are playoff level players in this team. But they will be eliminated after 1 or 2 rounds. We all know that they will not be successful in this situation Cheesy
There has been talk of Josh Richardson joining the Lakers. It can be useful for the team, he's playing with good statistics this season Smiley

A healthy Davis and Lebron play different during playoffs sir. Playoffs is a game 7 series compared to a regular season matches which didn't let players adjust for there mistake for a rematch game. Lebron is a genius in terms of adjusting and knowing the weakness of the enemy team assuming all his team mates is very healthy. I still believe that Lakers will do a comeback play this year, Just remove the hindrance player and improve the bench scrore because that's there current weakness whenever davis and lebron is already feeling the fatigue. Trading Kuzma for westbrook is really a very bad decision.  Undecided

I don't think the Lakers can do this with Lebron and Davis alone. Even if they do not have any injuries and are playing with full performance, it is very difficult for them to be successful. The opponent they will face in the playoffs will probably be one of the best teams in the league. I'm sure they will be eliminated in the first two rounds Cheesy

AD and Lebron did it once already right? the difference that time is that the supporting players did come up during the playoffs, like Caruso, Kuzma KCP and Javale and Howard.

But this years version is very different, although they have names like Westbrook and Melo, the chemistry is sour that they are way below the standings right now and probably fighting for a playoff spot.

The teams in the finals last season played against each other last night in Footprint Center. And Suns destroyed Bucks by 131-107 home. Especially their second and third quarter performances helped them get this very comfortable win. However, both of these teams are having a solid season again. But Suns are much better comparing to last season now. They are the team that have the least number of loss in the standings now. They lost only 10 times in 55 games and this is huge. They are one of the number one contenders for the title again.

Would you really play him in crunch time though?

I wouldn't trust him to hit free throws to save his life, and heck, if you criticize him too much he might just quit on his team again like with the 76ers.

Personally, the more I look at it, the more this seems like a bandaid solution to a long term issue. Nets have way too much going on and if you are counting on Seth Curry to win your championship, you're in deep trouble.

Everyone is curious about what Nets are going to do with their new additions to the team. Harden might be seen as a big loss for them but I feel like that it was a nice trade too. Nets got very good players and things in return. And now, Kevin Durant can lead the team more freely compared to before. I believe that they will be more successful with a new starting five. And they desperately need to start fixing things now. Having a losing streak like 10 games is really serious now.

We will see once Durant gets healthy again and play, if I'm not mistaken it was said that it will take 4-5 weeks for him to recover. So most likely it will be around March that we might see him suited for the Nets. They've almost won their game today, unfortunately they will need to push themselves again without Durant to get at least a win to stop the bleeding.

No, because we are going to see hack-a-ben situation, and then him missing those crucial free throws.

I don't think though that the Nets is counting Seth to bring them a ring, but it could open up the lane if he started to hit that 3's.

Lots of experiment on the part of Nash here specially once Durant is back.

By the way guys, don't forget to vote on the poll in this coming all-star. OP updated the poll and there are already 2 votes, 50-50 result because I voted for Team Durant. What's your pick? and why do you think they'll win?

I believe the Nets won on that trade. A shooter/outside defender addition and a big point guard. 76ers need a point guard too and a forward so I think they are satisfied with that Harden and Millsap included.
But what I really want to witness is the Nets improving their defensive with the addition of these new players. Seth is good at defending small players while Ben could manage forwards in the defensive end. Let's see.
^ Team Lebron is my vote.

I guess most of us here think that the Sixers won the trade, at least Harden already won an MVP IRC, so he will be a big help for the 76ers to be in the NBA Finals. On the other hand, Simmons is a great defender but he is not clutch in the playoffs, I hope he will improve though, but in case the Nets would face the Bucks in the ECF, who Simmons will be guarding? is he gonna Guard Giannis?

He won once, just like Westbrook. As of now, we are just making our own speculation but we don't really know who's the winner of the trade until we see them start playing. By the way, in ECF, I guess there are plenty of good teams in the East, and we cannot just assume a repeat, we have Memphis, Bulls, and Sixers, so the journey this season will be tougher especially if the teams mentioned have a healthy superstars.

Also he's problem is shooting so for sure he will be the weak points of Nets in dying minutes so provably they will have a problem in clutch time.

But also maybe we can see different Simmons on his new teams since most provably he will do more better performance to show his former team that he's a huge loss for them. So let see if they click together as a team since for sure they still have a problem in terms on chemistry to fix.

Yes they can't do it alone, I mean Davis and Lebron is expected to carry the team all the way through and good thing Malik Monk is stepping up but that won't be enough because they need another help in offensive and defensive. The Lakers is one of the best example of a healthy team but it doesn't matter because the others aren't contributing. IMO, Vogel should already let Howard play enough minutes and bench WB more often.

I'm guessing that supposed to be Miami Heat and not Memphis because they play in the Western Conference.

By the way guys, don't forget to vote on the poll in this coming all-star. OP updated the poll and there are already 2 votes, 50-50 result because I voted for Team Durant. What's your pick? and why do you think they'll win?
Team Durant as well. Not that I really think they would win but it seems more exciting to watch younger players like Morant and Ball. I think they have extra motivation to prove they have what it takes to play against the vets of team Lebron.

If I'm not mistaken, it's been Team Lebron's who are consecutively winning in the all star game, they are compose of vets and I think Lebron is really good in choosing his teammates. However, you are right, Team Durant are compose of young players and I like to see them compete as they will be the next future superstars.

I think the real winner will be how Simmons plays. Can this man shoot yet? Or is his priorities with Maya Jama? There's no way you can say the nets won the trade when the other team gets James harden?? If the Lakers traded westbrick, Howard, tht, Ariza and the kitchen sink for harden, you wouldn't be saying the nets won the trade. True, I like Seth curry but you really gonna compare him to the beard.
For the sixers with Joel doc rivers and now James harden I think this will be the biggest melt down of the season. None of these superstars have a ring, bar doc rivers 1. I don't see them getting out of the second round. And the nets? Irving just get the vaccine so you can play at home, Durant has stuck his neck out long enough. For the real winners of the east, the Greek freak will be laughing at this trade. He dismantled the big 3 of the east in less than 16 games together. Lakers in 5
