I noticed that my staking rewards have halfed in the last two days. I received around 9 rewards per day and in the last two days I received 5 rewards. Anyone else noticed this? Does it have something to do with more active wallets?

It is because the network weight has increased in the last few days as more new people are coming into MOIN and starting to stake. If you want to try and keep up with this you might want to buy more MOIN like I do each month just so I'm ahead of the network weight. By doing this I'm able to get consistent stakes daily. I know not everyone can afford to do this but it is a way to get consistent stakes if that's what you want daily.

Will buy a little more and take advantage of the recent correction

Buy more MOIN every time there is a dip in the price and now is the perfect time as the price has dipped some more in the last 24 hours. Also 1k blocks seem to stake almost daily for me so that might be an idea to split the coins into 1k blocks when staking.

Haven't looked at this thread for a few days. And i'm glad there are a couple of good news from developers. Also wanted to say that stacking working like a charm. I will try to follow this thread and support moin project.

Bought a few hundreds of MOIN, but not sure if this amount enough for pos stacking. Can somebody tell me how much do i need for staking?
I can try and help answer this, a few hundred won't earn you a stake for a long time unless you get lucky. I highly recommend you try and get at least 1k+ MOIN to stake as that amount should earn you a couple of stakes a week. If you want a daily stake then 2k should be the right amount, remember it all depends on the network weight at the time of staking so if you can, try and leave your computer staking as long as possible. At least 12 hours or even better 24/7 as you'll earn a lot more rewards. based on the above questions/answer from northa/vella85, I made some tests about the required size of moin balance for good staking results. On 15th Jan 2018 23:42, I filled addresses with the following balances: 100/200/500/1000/2000/5000. Now, after roughly 4 days and 12 hours, I have the balances below (The wallet was running nearly 24/7 in this period): 100 -> 100 = 0 staking rewards, 0% 200 -> 200 = 0 staking rewards, 0% 500 -> 503 = 2 staking rewards, +0.6% 1000 -> 1006 = 4 staking rewards, +0.6% 2000 -> 2009 = 6 staking rewards, +0.45% 5000 -> 5018 = 12 staking rewards, +0.36% So I wouldn't try to stake coins with less than 500 MOIN balance on it. In the long run, the percentage earnings from staking should align to each other. I will continue to monitor the balances and report again here in a few weeks. You have to have those funds in separate wallets, otherwise your overall staking weight is 8800 MOIN and this will make results inaccurate. In other words it will make results of each separate address look bigger than it would be in reality.

According to KingCaper: The staking weight shown in the wallet is only for informational purposes. The amount of coins in the tx.outs of one address only affects the difficulty (and likelihood of staking) for that address. So if you had 2 addresses in the wallet - one with 10 MOIN, one with 500,000 MOIN - the likelihood of the one with 10 MOIN earning stakes is unaffected by the huge balance at the other address. so the experiment should still be valid. thanks anyway for your input.

Look at few posts above. Suppose lot of new users joined and started staking so your weight is lower. Trying buying the dips just to keep up, as I believe a lot more users will come in the future...

Is nice to see that Moin going up. Movement Laptop Raffle is great idea, but can i ask why you not run raffle or giveaway with moin coins as a rewards. Then you will get new people in the community, there is a big chance that here you get new Moin holder's. One laptop is just for the one guy, but you need to grow moin community.

Where are you stuck? Did you download latest version of Moin wallet? If not you have on first post in his thread link to the wallet app source, download version depend of your OS. You can use public or stealth address, it depends if you want to be anonymous

Yes, well like I have mentioned in a previous post the network weight has been increasing over the past few weeks so maybe now you don't have enough coins to earn a daily stake. Like I have said you may need to add more coins to help build your own staking weight, buy on the dips like I also mentioned and am currently doing myself to keep up with staking. Good luck!

I would suggest you download the official Moin Wallet and send your coins there. Your coins should be safe there plus if you enable staking you will receive around 10% rewards in Moin a year. Also, do the backup of the wallet and store it somewhere safe (external drive) in case something happens to your laptop. Also, encrypt your wallet with the password. You can download the official wallet here: https://github.com/MOIN/MOIN/releases/tag/v1.2.0.0Just follow the instructions. If you need further help you can PM me (I'm not associated with Moin, just a supporter). Jookly is community manager and he can also help you if you have any problems in the future. Also, Vella85 is a long term supporter and helper from what I learned and he will probably suggest more helpful advice. Welcome to community and happy staking

Welcome to community and happy staking Yes as Ferdo suggested, the only way to be sure that your coins are safe is to download the wallet for that particular coin and have the coins sent to the wallet. And also you encrypt your wallets with strong passpharse so it makes it difficult for hackers to hack your wallets. Also you never want to store coins on these pools for staking because we never know if they can run with our coins so like I always say its best to store your coins in your own wallet. There are a few other ways like storing them in cold storage and even on paper wallets, not sure if MOIN has a paper wallet? maybe Jookly or the dev can answer that one.
