I just got minted approx. 7.74 PIV.

But now it displays "Stacking is not active".

Thanks. Now I see the green up arrow icon and it displays "Staking is active"!

Expected, it takes a while to activate. Again, hit the dedicated #support channel or forums if you want fast and dedicated support.

sounds good you should be fine now, it takes a while until you get your first reward
happy staking

what kind of rewards can one expect with let say 5000 pivx if you leave your wallet open all day and night?

Hard to be exact, but you will get at least one reward every two days
The rewards are around 7.2 pivx currently

I believe you need to wait again for the new coins to mature before staking restarts.

You need to wait 101 confirms before it is eligible to stake again.

The PIVX wallet is very unique... can someone please walk me through how I transfer my PIVX from Bittrex to the PIVX wallet and setup a masternode (have enough PIVX to do)?

hey and welcome to pivx where privacy maters.

you can follow this step by step guide from user borris123 (windows)
https://github.com/PIVX-Project/PIVX/releases/download/v1.1.0.0/Windows.Setup.for.Darknet.Masternodes.pdf

the guide is for the old version before rebranding (pivx was darknet once) but this works for pivx too.
if you need more help i recommend to visit slack channnel (even if i'm a non slacker as old fart i prefer the forum  Cheesy)
http://slack.pivx.org/

have fun with pivx

There is a big drama around "nothing at stake" attack in pos coins. Do masternodes work as checkpoints for a coin too? Do they store same non rewritable blockchain with final transactions? Or potential attacker can somehow (theoretically) rewrite history of 100 blocks on their own and try to build longer blockchain and orphan legit one?

Guys where do you think PIVX would settle around?

What according to you should be the ideal Base Price?

I think the Base Price for PIVX must be in between 30-50k probably.

After seeing all the hard-work done by the Devs., 30-50k would be an ideal position for PIVX which it really deserves.

Let's see what the future holds for PIVX. Fingers Crossed.  Wink

DRPD, really appreciate you holding the fort here! I do post any major announcements here but will check more often also. Smiley

First time seeing this coin and very interested. How is the i2p integration going? Any progress with it?

I'm no dev so I'm not sure but I don't think it's in the priority list atm so I would assume it'll take some time.
Current priority list is getting the budget system back up, fix any bugs and implementing libzerocoin afaik.

I don't know all the technical details so I've mentioned your question in slack and hopefully someone there can answer for you here.

How many Master Nodes are active right now?

Hi. Please see here for current masternode stats. Wink
http://178.254.23.111/~pub/DN/DN_masternode_payments_stats.html

Ok so at present prices one can get a Master Node on PIVX for about 1 BTC.
To get a Master Node on Dash will cost you close to 100 BTC

PIVX could easily, soon, have more MNs than Dash.

What do you see as the optimum number of Master Nodes?

That won't actually be possible anytime soon due to our Seesaw Balancing System.
Please check my personal PIVX REFERENCE doc. There's my masternode prediction spreadsheet on Page 5.
(see comment in the spreadsheet for info about each column)

no one yet explored (or even thought out as yet) innovations to run master nodes and with a strong encryption in between (its like TOR on steroids with meta information build in and private id's that can not be spoofed) feel you looking to here at least 50 to 100 mil market cap , feel recent price bump was sell from the top but on the bottom and re-establish master nodes.. its all way premeditated! dont get caught, see this wave here similar, its a way of accumulation , stakes are quite high I am watching but at this potential what PIVX has I cant risk it.. waaay too chicken.. but some do

Is there a way to calculate rewards for both and compare? I am staking now. Seems not bad. I got it for more than 1 BTC though during the pump.
That it is why I prefer to use the most optimal way for now. Then masternode for sure.

thats excellent, there is a formula to calculate progressive reduction of payouts, but for now my best recommendation is to view this for $ %

http://178.254.23.111/~pub/DN/DN_Info.html

and just hold to your node cause it might become very valuable, would just backup your wallet.dat put 2 or even 3 firewalls in between and encrypt and quietly collect all you can
