Ok we are added a BTC donation address to the CPU miner bounty... Some of you may not have HOdl to donate and this will give you a way to get your PC's mining HODlcoin in a pool.. Both freetrade and I will hodl the private Key in case something bad happens to one of us..

at time of post we have 0.103944 BTC

then some cleanup and prepare a fork + branch for the pull request.

An Assessment of Online Cloud Server Providers for HOdlcoin Mining

IBM SoftLayer *** WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER ***  Grin

Type: Bare metal server
Config: 1 off dual 8-core E5-2690 with 16GB RAM
Hash: 460 H/sec
Cost: $512 pcm
Setup: Requires familiarity with Linux
Deals: $500 free trial
Site: http://www.softlayer.com/info/five-hundred?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=Sitelink_-_$500_Off&utm_campaign=AP_-_ANZ_-_English_-_Australia_-_Search_-_Google_-_Brand&utm_term=softlayer%20servers&matchtype=e&_bt=95799329042&_bk=softlayer%20servers&_bm=e&adgroup=Sitelink_-_$500_Off
Comments: #1 rating despite generally awful website. Hardware failed right after setup, and delays cost money. Reasonably fast and patient - though mostly incompetent - customer service. On signup I was provided with an over-spec server, which was dual decacore at 3GHz and gave a hashrate of 635 H/sec. The second unit was exactly per spec but had 32GB of memory, which is no advantage at all. Ideal platform for a continuous and unvarying computing task.

Google Cloud *** RUNNER UP ***  Cool

Type: Virtual server, although performance is more like bare metal
Config: 4 off (n1-standard-8) 8-core with 30GB RAM
Hash: 416 H/sec
Cost: $817.60 pcm
Setup: Fairly simple web interface
Deals: $300 free trial with 60 days to use credit
Site: https://cloud.google.com/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=2016-q1-cloud-japac-au-gcp-bkws-freetrial&utm_content=en&gclid=CMSbuZihqcsCFYUrvQodejcF-w
Comments: Pay for usage only, which saves money. This would be my first choice if speeds matched SoftLayer Bare Metal and price was even vaguely comparable. Good choice for inexpert users, although you still need to install it correctly. SSH client inbuilt, which is great. Common Google login. Slow user interface but nice graphical representation of server efficiency and uptime. Charged by minute of uptime, fine grained configuration changes available. Awesome platform generally.
Additional info: At $621.38 their n1-highcpu-32 (32 vCPUs and 28.8GB mRAM) product might be a real contender for first place, but unfortunately this unit was not available for testing under the free offer. Sustained usage discount of up to 30% could reduce this price even further. Having now tested this configuration I can happily state that it reaches 460 H/sec and is very well worthwhile.

IBM SoftLayer *** NONONONONO ***  Roll Eyes

Type: Virtual server
Config: 1 off 16-core with 16GB RAM & 1 off 8-core with 8GB RAM
Hash: 132 H/sec
Cost: $544 pcm
Setup: Requires familiarity with Linux
Deals: $500 free trial
Site: http://www.softlayer.com/info/five-hundred?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=Sitelink_-_$500_Off&utm_campaign=AP_-_ANZ_-_English_-_Australia_-_Search_-_Google_-_Brand&utm_term=softlayer%20servers&matchtype=e&_bt=95799329042&_bk=softlayer%20servers&_bm=e&adgroup=Sitelink_-_$500_Off
Comments: DO NOT SELECT THIS SERVICE. See Bare Metal above.

Microsoft Azure Platform *** TOTAL LUZERS ***  Cry

Type: Virtual server
Config: 2 off (A4 Basic) 8-core with 14GB RAM
Hash: 40 H/se
Cost: $559.49 pcm
Setup: Awful popups, clunky setup
Deals: $200 free credit
Site: https://account.windowsazure.com/Home/Index
Comments: 8-core servers can only be set up in US mainland, despite false advertising. Only one unit per center is allowed by the interface. Free trial was shut down and servers decommissioned without notice or reason given. No rules of their User Agreement had been broken. Pay for support. Rubbish generally.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) *** POINTS FOR ATTENDING ***  Angry

Type: Virtual server
Config: 1 off EC2 with 1GB RAM
Hash: -
Cost: -
Setup: Messy interface
Deals: Free EC2 server for 12 months.
Site: https://aws.amazon.com/free/?sc_channel=PS&sc_campaign=acquisition_AU&sc_publisher=google&sc_medium=cloud_computing_nb&sc_content=cloud_free_p_control&sc_detail=cloud%20free&sc_category=cloud_computing&sc_segment=96563426724&sc_matchtype=p&sc_country=AU&s_kwcid=AL!4422!3!96563426724!p!!g!!cloud%20free&ef_id=VtqrCgAABPQ5eK8W:20160305094650:s
Comments: Free servers include only 1GB memory. Unsuitable for HOdl, can't install.

Also-rans

No other trial offers worth attempting. Many sites promise trials but you can't sign up. Probably farming email addresses for spam purposes. All prices in this comparison were quoted in USD and are effective as at 3 March 2016.

Fixed slow shutdown and rebased on current git HEAD.
Need to decide if revert to random nonce or keep serial ones, but avoid same "midhash" on multiple wallets.
Ideas?

Agree, but when everyone's ready it's up to us to take a few minutes and submit a request for HODL on the better exchanges.

I agree, I think it is a lot more fun HODL'ing these Acorns & trying to hit them solo.

With less cpu power and less than half the days I got the same amount.
There must be something wrong with your setup.
What settings? Hashrate?

To read the hashrate it's easier to run "getmininginfo" on the console.
Yours seems to swing a bit too much, maybe some other process eating resources?
Also try running with just 1gb: you loose less hashes when a new block is detected on the network. Until I can publish my patch...
