Can I ask who is running all the VPN servers? If this has been addressed before please forgive.

About the VPN servers, will it be running within the Warp network or will the VPN be something apart from the Warp network? Just asking because I am very curious to know if it would be running through the block chain (which would be pretty cool) If something could enlighten me about this, I would gladly appreciate it.  Grin

They are open servers run by peers using openvpn-server.

Hey all!

So as you know, we had some issues yesterday that prevented the release of the first public beta wallet.

I am really sorry for that, but there are some things out of my control. The developer in charge of the VPN feature could not come online yesterday.

Today is a new day though. We are working to fix the little bugs that are bothering us.
So far, the linux version is working good - although it only connects to certain servers. We will be working to filter out servers for a better user experience.

Furthermore, there are other things happening with WARP, besides the VPN feature.
As you might have heard, I suggested the creation of a WARP foundation, that would pick a few members of the community to form a board. We need to make hard decisions in the near future, and I'd love to count with the community's opinion. To get a place on this board, I have suggested the creation of an asset, that can be bought with WARP. However, asset holdings are not the only criteria to join. We prefer long term holders, active and contributing ones. This is a short term idea to implement.

Another one is the creation of a WARP side-chain with an interesting algo - that can attract miners too. This is a more delicate idea, and I would love to hear some thoughts on it.

Regards

The ideas are great and you look determined to make WARP a success!

Maybe a little crowdfunding can help you to pay for more developers. Ever thought of starting a pitch on http://bnktothefuture.com?

Warp could become a VPN / DASH / ETH / LISK / MAIDSAFE / SIA cross-over so you can browse and run DAPPS on encrypted, decentralized storage you can access by anonymous VPN  Grin

I think the community would need more information about the asset itself, what would be the purpose or benefit of holding it in the first place ? Although I think a WARP foundation sounds like an interesting idea to help push WARP further.

Again, it would be good to know more information about what this WARP side-chain would do? How would it benefit WARP holders?

Hi shape,

Firstly, I thought you handled the small issues with v1.1 very well, it also allowed me to sell a bunch at 5ksat and buy back in at below 3.9ksat - I'm one happy bunny.

Anyway, about the board, how about trying something completely different or would this be a step too far?

There are a lot of advantages to this system, not the least being how difficult it makes it for cabals to form or "big characters" (or rich ones) to dominate proceedings.

Just a thought.....

I think that WARP side-chain would be like fist to the eye on current holders if miners could mine WARP and dump it to the exhange and coin total count will rise too mutch.

On the other hand it would be inresting idea and i have not heard that any pure POS coin has started mining period.

If you could keep block side so small that it could not be dumped and WARP stays rare coin it would benefit holders because miner will make some volume too.

So side-chain feature would be good idea if you do it right and keep WARP still rare coin.

Maybe limited mining period with limited supply would be good idea since coins need more people to get more value.

And yes i´m thinking how i´m gonna make more money to my self.  Cool POW mining periods maybe more that once would be funny idea .

Hey if you gonna start mining period you should name it like "Warp factor 1" or something more unique.

(I hope you understand what i´m trying to write. I´m not writing that mutch english usually.)

There is a good chance of Decred,Radium or Warp to make it to a fairly large market capital. But there is nothing that could predict any one to be the best or be the coin of this year.I am more inclined towards Decred though.

I see price of WARP is very low now.

Why no official release of the VPN yet?  btw, are some of you guys tried the beta version yet? no comments at all on that as if ppl are here solely for the p&d purpose.

this coin and future projects looks awesome, but the greatest challenge of all seems really about creating a community.
Looks like everything's are in place for a success, so how this can get noticed and going forward without having to use some p&d groups "services"?

at that price, I sure am buying a few and holding.
I have a feeling this one will bring happy surprises.

I am sick in bed and decided not to release yet.
Linux version is tested and ready. On windows, I was having some issues. Give me one day more to figure this out and I'll publish both binaries.

Again, if you can't hold your coins for a bit, don't complain you don't take profit in crypto.

Someone keeps crashing price to 26-28K level at Bittrex, which in turn results in panic sell.

I'm sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but why do you think the release is delayed and then there is dumping? Is it not obvious?

The dev has been hyping WARP for a long time and there is no VPN wallet, just a few screenshots and delays and whilst you all wait for the VPN wallet and dream of getting rich, the dev is making a healthy profit but selling off his WARPs.

Have you not seen this before?

...and before all the sockpuppets start ranting..just think..exotic features, sharp rise in price, delays, dump...

Do the math...

LOL @ the Brand New Account FUD!!!!  A coin knows they've made it BIG when this starts to happen!! Go WARP , Go Shapetwist!! Smiley
