That is gambling my friend, you can lose and win and your main concern to be profitable is when your have more wins than your losses and of course that would only apply if you are not chasing your bets because the moment you do that you will be miserable once you experience one lose with big bets.

I suggest you the gambling that can only makes you earn and not based into luck, poker. It is way safer than those gambling games that we have. Poker used skills not luck to win, so I guess you might want to try it.

How much is your bankroll that time? 1.5 btc is pretty nice already if you asked me. Well if you only had .1 bankroll on that time then it is still a good thing that you lost .1 but 1.4 if winning is already big and one time luck.

I believe he hits that amount because you can always win when you are extremely lucky but the problem with most of the gambles is their greediness to win more so they will not stop until they lose their entire bankroll. Really hard to accept but that is reality, we only regret after the event.

I have also lost a couple of Bitcoin with gambling but I have never cried because of it, people choose to gamble and they should not cry whenever they lose.

You are setting yourself up to a disappointment if you will switch to betting, it is still gambling. And you will still have a chance to lose big. And it will still make you cry.
